Big square but nothing really special, got its name through Elise Bonaparte, the sister of the emperor, who ruled Lucca for some time.

Not one of our top piazzas but okay for a stroll through on route to elsewhere. Not worth a detour though.

Well worth a visit A local market was on when we visited selling beautiful goods and produce which were reasonably priced. Also has numerous cafes.

really a worth going into the square and looking at the history and architecture of this building. Easy to find and well worth putting on your list to do in the city.

The Piazza Napoleone in Lucca is quaint, but comes to life at night. It is centrally located, has good resturants and shopping. We were there on the weekend of the antique market. It was busy, but not crowded.

I always stayed in the middle of the town. Think to have seen taxi's around so I guess it won't be a problem. Enjoy your stay! Leave the piazza Napoleone in the south side (where traffic is allowed) and you will find a taxi.
