This was daunting for some who were not as mobile but the challenge was too tempting and there was a feeling of ecstasy having succeeded in climbing the hundreds of stairs to the top of this Gothic bell tower. There were areas to stop and...More

Giotto Campanile is an absolute masterpiece of engineering and a quintessential part of the Duomo complex. Whilst the stairs are quite steep to climb, it is well worth it for the rewarding view at the top - especially the view looking back over the Cupola....More

This remarkable tower is part of the Duomo complex. The Duomo, the bell tower, and the baptistry make up this complex which is at the heart of Florence. It is easily recognizeable from various points in the city.

The campanile has 3 different levels to view the city from. It's a tough climb but it's worth the effort as you see the Duomo from different perspective

Don’t attempt to do both this and the Cupola in one day. Your legs will hate you for it. This tower has over 400 steps but luckily the climb is broken up by several rest stops where you can enjoy the view progressively. While the...More

When we arrived in Florence we did some wandering after dropping g our stuff at the hotel. My brother wanted to climb the Bell Tower, insisting it was taller. He was wrong, but the Duomo was sold out for the day, so it was decided....More

The ticket is 18 euro but you can also visit the cathedral tower and the museum with this ticket. Buy it at the museum or the official ticketshop located on the square. Only for the dome you have to book a timeslot. Buy tickets early,...More

If you already climbed the Duomo, you should skip the Campanile, when you get on top everything is fenced and you can’t enjoy the view. It doesn’t worth the effort. Go for the Brunelleschi’s Cupola instead where the view is incredible.

I have climbed it, and none will forbid you to take it with you, but i suggest you to climb it without the daypack because you have nearly 1000 stairs to climb. Hope you enjoy Florence. It's a wonderful city.😊
