Very definitely worth a visit, be it for the rather beautiful location, the cats, and to pay a visit to some literary or philosophical giants.

I had earmarked this gorgeous little cemetery as a must-see for my trip so I was completely dazzled when we happened on it during the Testaccio Food Tour. I could have spent hours just wandering around this utterly peaceful spot, admiring the amazingly beautiful headstones....More

This is not a massive cemetery, so one can visit it thoroughly in about two hours. There are a few noteworthy graves here (Shelley, Keats, etc.), but what makes this cemetery unique is that it is for non-Christians and/or non-Romans. Also, how many cemeteries in...More

I’ve been using a specific photo in presentations I’ve done on Bereavement for years. When I searched for things to do in Rome, there it was - the image. I went by myself to explore while in-laws and husband fought crowds at St. Peter’s. The...More

Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio,
an ancient Roman port and former working class
