Nice area in Berlin, however it is mostly not original but rebuilt after WW2 when it was mostly destroyed in bombings. Nice for a walk or a cafeteria visit.

Saved the best til last. Nikolaiviertel is my favourite part of Berlin. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle this quarter hosts an array of cafes, restaurants, shops and bars dotted around its cobbled streets and in the shadow of the church. Be sure to...More

The Nicholas Quarter ( Nikoliavietel ) is an absolutely fantastic district of Berlin that I always enjoy visiting on any holiday I take to this most eclectic of cities. The Nicholas Quarter was always an important area of Berlin, famous for its many taverns, boutique shops and...More

This is the original, historic part of Berlin. However, it was obliterated by the allies in WWII. In the 1980's the East German tried an historic redevelopment. It is great to see the shops and restaurants and well as historic structures like St. Nicholas Church....More

Spent part of a day in the Nicholas Quarter while on vacation in Berlin with my spouse. We really enjoyed walking around the small area to admire the restored old-style town architecture and pop into shops and restaurants. The Nicholas Quarter is a small area...More

We visited the area and wasn't really that impressed by it. The whole area is clean with some shops and restaurants, but ti didn't feel like it was 'old town' and the area is actually really small.

Even though this landed in the est Germany side of Berlin, the communists did a good job at restoring the old buildings. Close to the hearts of imperial Berlin, this neighborhood is so beautiful!
