quaint and also quiet part of the mere, easy walking to many restaurants/cafes. lovely walks start here. plus its ideal. and then get a meal or drink outside at the wateredge Inn. Bliss but keep hold of the cheque book - its pricey
About 15 mins walk from centre of Ambleside, this has a couple of hotels, the YHA, places to feed the ducks and rent boats and also a stop for the Windermere cruises.
