The Isalo national park is a real and unbelievable beauty. We spent two half days there and we enjoyed the landscape, the shaped rocks, the canyon and the natural lakes and swiming pools. Definitly worth a visit ! Only one thing was really highly dissapointing...More

Isalo national park is very different to the other parks I visited in Madagascar, in that its not a forest. There are alot of wide open spaces and almost desert like scenery. It has a bit of a grand canyon feel to it, it's quite...More

The only sad thing about Isalo is that it was once surrounded by lush forrest ALL of which has been cut. There is barely a tree left. However, this further emphasizes the dramatic picture of rock formations which, guides will tell you, remind of a...More

This National Park was one of our favorites of our 10-day tour of highlights of Madagascar. We did a 3-4 hr walk through the stunning canyons leading to the blue and black pools, and finished off with a short 350m walk up to a third...More

A must do walk through the desert with lemurs and a walk along the river in a gorge. Swimming under a waterfall. The local guide showed us all animals and insects of the area.

This 315-square-mile park features sandstone formations, canyons, buttes and occasional water features, such as a waterfall and pools. As I walked along an unshaded trail under the blazing sun, I felt as if I were back hiking in the American Southwest. But the unusual plants...More

We did the long walk, which gives great views and a lot of varied landscapes, rocks, dry plains and wet river banks with pools and waterfalls. It should not be too difficult if you are reasonably fit.

It's not clear at the moment. It's wet season now and that apparently makes it super sandy. During dry season is when it's clear. (According to my guide I had there a few days ago.)
