About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- X4097KDkendram0 contributionsSnorkeling and sloth adventureThis was the BEST excursion we did on our entire cruise. It was my husband two children (7-9) and myself. We have NEVER snorkeled before and my children are not strong swimmers yet. We had the best time and my kids really enjoyed it and had little trouble snorkeling. Our guides were great and kept everyone safe. The only thing that could have been better was if they gave a crash course to snorkeling or teach us what to do prior to jumping in the water. They never asked if we had done it before and we never advised so it was just as much our fault as theirs. No complaints and will 100 percent do it again!!!!Written September 15, 2024
- 816tamekat0 contributionsBest Decision or Private BookingHonestly, I was skeptical booking an excursion outside of the cruise, however, this was one of the best decisions yet. When exiting the port we were bombarded with so many cruise operators however, Roatan 5 star had a large sign waiting for us so it was easy to see them in the chaos. We were then collected about 5 mins after by our driver Reny (pronounced Renee). Absolutely professional 👏. He explain and share some history of the island and we made our stops as follows : Zoo - very small zoo we held the sloths, monekys and hamsters. The Mccaws were not there as they previously had bad weather. Rum Cake factory - we sampled the Rum cake. If you're going to buy one get the Coconut. Chocolate factory was in the heart of their busy district. The tour was fast and they allowed us to sample some of the chocolate. If you are a dark chocolate lover don't skip this. Lastly Dolphin. I thought we would have had an opportunity to swim with the Dolphins but we didn't. I would recommend to do this in Costa Maya. We actually were only able to take photos but it wad still a memorable occasion as the area is so picturesque. Lastly, Reny again. Having a good member team is one thing but an exceptional team member is another. Reny was beyond what we expected as our private chauffeur for the day. Please ask for him personally if you book your tour with Roatan you won't regret it.Written September 14, 2024
- BekBekah0 contributionsHighly recommend - tons of funFrom beginning to end, this was an amazing experience. We did the three stop snorkeling adventure, including the shipwreck starfish and blue channel, and added on a stop to AJ’s monkeys and sloths. Eddie, our driver, picked us up and truly made the day great. He’s so friendly and made sure we had a great time. The snorkeling was incredible! I’ve never seen starfish like these - so big and in such clear water. The shipwreck was fascinating to explore. And the monkeys and sloths topped it off. What an amazing experience!Written September 13, 2024
- GloriaMontes0 contributionsBook them!!!This excursion was the highlight of our cruise!! We did the 3 stop snorkeling and also added the sloth farm. I CAN NOT SWIM and the staff took great care of me. It felt like I had my personal lifeguard right by my side at all times. They took great care of us. BOOK THEM, you won’t be disappointed!!Written September 12, 2024
- 960junke0 contributionsGreat tour!! Ask for Reny.Awesome tour. We held sloths and monkeys and toured chocolate and rum companies. Our tour guide was Reny (request him!!). Super nice guy and we felt like we had known him forever. Great time and our young daughter LOVED the monkeys!Written September 11, 2024

- Appalachians-view0 contributions100% best time!Roatan 5 Stars has many tours and we pick the monkey/sloth encounter with the 3 stop snorkeling tour. We were cruising with the Harmony of the Seas in September 2024. Meeting with our private guide Daniel was easy; met just outside the port gate. He was very personable from the start! Our first stop on the way to see the sloths was a vista where you can take pics with your cruise ship in the background, in our case at Coxen Bay. Daniel talked about the culture and history of the Islanders in Roatan. The sloth and monkey tour was great! We held Guinea Pigs, a sloth, very cool by the way, and interacted with the white Capuchin monkeys. The folks there are very friendly and enjoy what they do! Our next stop was snorkeling. We went to an area to get the feel of snorkeling and saw starfish. The second stop at the edge of the harbor inlet where we swam around fish in the reef and saw the drop off of the inlet. Last stop was snorkeling around an old steamship wreck. The guys on the boat were very patient with beginner snorkelers and provided water, fruit juice and fruit on the boat. At this point my wife and I could have toured other places since we had time but we were tired and decided to return to the ship. As Daniel said we were on island time and he was very flexible with our time but emphasized the top priority after having fun was to be able to return to the ship in plenty of time! Do not worry about missing the ship! They will ensure you return in ample time! I might add that I was a little worried about where to meet up with Daniel but if you’re at Coxen Bay port just follow the exit signs and they will be holding a placard just outside the gate stating Roatan 5 Stars; very easy! When returning to the ship the port regulations allows them to drop you off inside the port instead of outside where we first met. The folks you meet along the way to the exit that are hawking taxis are very helpful if you mention you’re taking a Roatan 5 Star tour; they will point you in the right direction. All in all a great experience and we will 100% tour with Roatan 5 Stars again in March 2025 on our next cruise! Thanks again Daniel!Written September 9, 2024
- Julian G0 contributionsOver the top customer serviceThis excursion exceeded my expectations. I was a bit nervous as this was our first time booking not through the cruise line. We found where we needed to go almost immediately, and we were escorted to our private car within minutes of exciting the port. Once we got to the excursion our driver (Remi) made sure we had everything we needed before we got there. The excursion was a great experience on itself, we got to see lots of wildlife along the reef. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept a close eye on the entire group. That was not what was most impressive. After we were done with the snorkeling excursion we had about 3 or 4 hours to kill before the all aboard on the ship. Remi took it upon himself to invite us to a private tour. He drove us to west end and west bay where he showed us around. He took is to a really good seafood restaurant before dropping us off at the port. 10/10 would recommend. Blew my expectations out of the water. Thanks again RemiWritten September 4, 2024
- kyledX2023ID0 contributionsBest day we’ve ever had!It was absolutely amazing. Our driver picked us up right where they said they would be. He offered us drinks and snacks. He even had car seats for our little ones. He was beyond accommodating. So friendly. Enrick, I’m unsure of the spelling exactly! Regardless this tour and company was so lovely to work with and very friendly. If we even get the chance to visit Honduras again we will go right back to this spot!!!Written September 1, 2024
- Y6955ENcraigg0 contributionsThe animal experiences were awesome and loved hearing how the dolphins were able to go out to sea in their own ecosystemThe Dolphin encounter, monkey and sloth, chocolate factory, and rum and cake factory was an amazing day. Had so much fun and our tour guide was great.Written August 31, 2024

- J5499IRhannahf0 contributionsHANDS DOWN THE BEST TOUR!Remy/renny was our tour guide. He was hands down the best tour guide we’ve ever had! Very personable, polite, and welcoming! We had a scooter with us and remy was very accommodating to our needs. He always opened the car doors for us, and gave us a beautiful tour. One of the best tours we have been on. Definitely prefer this over a group tour as it was only our family with the sloths and monkeys!Written August 29, 2024
- jayjT4368ND0 contributionsThe best excursion experience! My wife and I visited as one of 3 port destinations on our 7-day cruise with Royal Caribbean, celebrating our 30th anniversary. We chose Roatan Five Stars (RFS) tours because of video we watched on YouTube, along with reading other reviews from various sources. This experience did not disappoint! Previously, we had only used the cruise ship excursion packages and were a little hesitant to try something not coordinated by the cruise line, but I’m so glad we did! RFS was much better, more personalized, and almost half the price of the cruise lines! We chose a package that took us to a zip-lining adventure through the forest, to an animal encounter experience with sloths (my wife’s favorite animal), capuchin monkeys and birds, a small island rum cake factory, a small chocolate factory (both with complimentary tasting), and a place to buy souvenirs away from the frantic crowds and haggling entrepreneurs. It finished with with lunch at a local Roatan treetop restaurant with amazing food. Our driver and tour guide, Daniel, was waiting for us when we arrived at our gate, and ushered us to his personal vehicle which he contracts to RFS… but make no mistake, this was a very professional experience and very comfortable. For the rest of our trip, Daniel would accompany us to each of our destinations, and provide us with commentary about the history of the island, and an insider’s view of the culture and life of Roatan and the surrounding Honduras. He was incredible! Very friendly, just funny enough, and extremely attentive to our comfort. As he would say more than once, “this trip is all about you having the best experience possible… it’s all about you.” And he and RFS surely delivered! Once we were in Daniel’s care for the day, the excursion was just amazing and never stopped. RFS truly delivered five stars on every level. As a tour guide, Daniel was perfect. He would usher us to each encounter, but allowed us to explore and have privacy whenever we wanted it. It’s hard to explain, but at each destination he was there without being there, if that makes sense. We truly enjoyed his company, and feel like we’ve made a friend for life. When we return to Roatan in the future, we’ll definitely be using RFS, and we’ll definitely be requesting Daniel to be our guide.Written August 29, 2024
- Pioneer4651450 contributionsAwesomeOur guide was so knowledgeable about the area and the history of Roatan. She took us to see the sloths and monkeys and waited there for us. Then she drove us down to a dock where we were taken to Brady’s Cay. The island was awesome. We agreed on a pickup time and she was waiting for us when we returned. She then drove us back to the port. We would definitely book with them again. It was an awesome experience and we enjoyed having a guide to ourselves and not being crammed in a van with a bunch of others.Written August 27, 2024
- tiffanygN2010TK0 contributionsGreat Company! Our experience with Roatan Five Star was fantastic from start to finish! Jaime was our personal tour guide and made sure everything went smoothly throughout the day. We began with ATV riding, guided by two amazing brothers who were both patient and attentive. They offered us the choice of a leisurely ride or a more adventurous one up the mountains. We chose the latter, and they took us to stunning viewpoints, capturing photos and videos along the way. They even sent us the pictures and videos after the ride, which lasted about 45 minutes. Next up was a visit to the sloths and monkeys. The animals were incredibly cute and friendly, and we had around 30-45 minutes to interact with them. My daughter was initially a bit apprehensive, but they were more than willing to let her return and enjoy the experience once she felt more comfortable. After that, we went to a chocolate factory, where we enjoyed a fun demonstration by a Willy Wonka-like character and had the chance to shop for chocolates. I tried a refreshing and delicious chocolate-covered pineapple. The tour continued at the rum factory, where we sampled some fantastic rum cakes and enjoyed a variety of alcohol samples. To cap off the day, we opted for a beach pass at Westside Beach. Jaime sat at a table while we relaxed and took care of our belongings. He even helped negotiate better prices for water sports as a local. I highly recommend Roatan Five Star for anyone looking for memorable excursions in Roatan!Written August 27, 2024
