      Perfect flight
Perfect way to explore and enjoy the vulcanic landscape. The team was very professional but also enterteined us. I learned about the the region, but also food and drinks. We had coffe-tea with snacks for a start and after the flight delicious brunch of local food and drinks. Plus cava during the flight.... Flights are very goog organized so you just have to drive to the baloon base with a restaurant and parking.

      Great family experience
This was the highlight of our family trip in Catalonia, and a great surprise. The day starts with watching the preparations and the balloons being inflated, while drinking coffee and having some snacks. Riding the balloon for almost two hours was amazing, the views were stunning, and Xevi our pilot and guide provided very interesting information on the landscape and gladly answered any question on both landmarks and balloon operation. During the trip we had some champagne and a cake. After the balloon ride we expected a light breakfast, but were surprised that the experience developed into a Catalan feast. With delicious Catalan dishes, and a lot of wine. Xevi was sitting with us, explaining more on the food, the local culture, and a lot more, and just having fun with the extended group. The gift shop is very nice, and the staff was not pushy around it. All in all this is a full experience, with the balloon ride obviously being the highlight. All family members ranked it the #1 activity of the trip!

      Fun for All!!
Our family of 4, including 2 teens, all had a wonderful time! They are very well organized. They serve coffee and snacks when you arrive in a room overlooking the balloons being prepared! Once in the balloon basket, they will use your camera to take a picture for you. We were up in the air for almost 1 1/2 hours! They served cava and cakes in the air. We had someone celebrate his 63rd birthday in the air!!! The sights are beautiful and the ride is very peaceful. The trucks were right there as soon as we landed, and ready to take us back. It took them about 30-45 minutes to pack up the balloon before we could go back. Not many people offered to help. They worked very hard. Once we got back, they served a delicious meal!!!

      Magical family experience
What an amazing experience! We booked on a weekday when the overnight accommodation was included. We stayed in the amazing medieval village of Santa Pau which is well worth a visit. We arrived after a day and night of thunderstorms to see two baskets unpacked and the balloons being laid out...we were going to fly. We were immediately greeted and given a card showing which of the six balloons they have that we were going to be flying in! A quick coffee and croissant later and the balloon was filling up and soon it was time to board. Our pilot was Xevi and we shared our balloon with an Irish couple and a German family from New York. Hence the pilot spoke exclusively in English. Take off was gentle and we started off floating away from the town of Olot and once we got higher we changed direction and headed towards the coast. Our pilot was calm, professional and as soon as we were up to 2000m opened a bottle of pink fizz and cake. The views were outstanding and there was a mixture of mist over the low mountains and volcanos. Once we had crossed the biggest volcanos we then descended down into the valley and over another medieval town of Besalu at an altitude of a couple of hundred of meters. Landing was gentle and the balloon so packed away once the minibus and trailer arrived. We got back to the take off spot and were served a wonderful breakfast and treated to more coffee, wine and food. In all a fantastically organised trip, high quality food, superb customer service and if we are ever back we would love to come and fly again. It would be amazing to see it in winter. Many thanks Xevi and the whole professional team at Vol de Coloms.

      Amazing, superb experience!!
I could have never imagined that this experience would be so magnificent. Being up in the sky makes you feel so peaceful and relaxed, and the silence...! I must say I’m scared of heights, but I felt safe at all times. The views of the volcanoes and Fageda d’en Jordà in autumn is one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen in this world. Vol de Coloms is a well-organised company that treat guests in an excellent way. In the flight they include breakfast before starting, a snack and cava during the flight and a great brunch with products from the area. Definitely an experience that you must do once in your lifetime!!

      Amazing experience
It was a birthday present for my husband and we loved it. Amazing views, not scary at all. It took about 1:30 flight time so we were lucky to have such a long ride! The company picked us up at out landing spot and drove us back to have a traditional catalan breakfast which I still remember! Great experience and great staff!

To describe the experience would be to repeat what all other 5-star reviews have said. I do want to underline the professionalism and friendliness of all the staff involved from booking to greeting, and especially our pilot Pau (good eglish, thanfully). And to underline how good all the extras are, like the meal after, the cava & cake during the flight, the guidance etc. While it's a bit of an outlay for a family, the price seems very fair having seen the whole operation in action.

      Birthday gift balloon flight
Wow, this is an absolute 'must do' experience. Arrived at 7am to see the balloon filling then 12 of us went up for an hour + long trip over the extinct volcanoes of Garrotxa. Views were spectacular and Tony was a great guide. The flight included CAVA and sticky bun thing that was really tasty. After a transfer back to base we were treated to a spectacular Catalonian meal that was fabulous and tasty for the whole family. All in all a brilliant experience for the whole family.

      What a fantastic day out!
Booked as a surprise for my wife, this activity did not disappoint. The professionalism and friendliness of the team was outstanding, even before we arrived. From contact via WhatsApp a few days before to ensure we had the exact launch location, to being met in the car park and told which balloon we'd be riding, before being directed to a welcome coffee. The balloons were very quickly inflated before we were introduced to our pilot, Chevy, and up, up and away! Chevy gave a great talk on the volcanoes of the region, the local geography and it's culture and gastronomy. We even got to sample some with cava and cake. The views were magnificent as we drifted towards Banyoles and our eventual landing site. The trip lasted at least an hour and a half and was truly breathtaking and very relaxing. The chase team were waiting for our arrival on landing and in less than 30 minutes the balloon was packed away and we were being driven back to the launch site. Upon return we had a lovely brunch of local bread, cold meats, sausage and beans, washed down with some vino. We particularly liked the way the tables were laid out so that all the travellers in each of the balloons ate together with their pilot and chase crew. The staff at this place are just so friendly and helpful, and incredibly welcoming - they made it a great experience all round. An absolute must if you are in the area.

An Amazing View of the Volcanos and the Mountains
You don't want to miss this! My husband and I had a wonderful flight and the staff were superb. Chevy picked us up from our hotel in Girona and drove us to the launch site (about 1 hour away), and then returned us to our hotel afterward. Anthony, the pilot and owner was a phenomenal tour guide and a gracious host. The Cava and cake were an added treat in flight. The surroundings were beautiful. This was a trip highlight!!

The pilots and staff are incredibly welcoming. They are able to create a sense of kinship among a group of strangers that are each having a once in a life time experience. Beautiful facilities and fantastic brunch that made this not just a balloon flight but an event full of joy and friendship. I hope everyone finds their way to Xevit's balloon. It will remain with us forever.

We decided to try this based on other reviews, and having always wanted to go on a hot air balloon. This is the place to do it. You can really see the volcanoes. The company is a family run business with experienced pilots that really know what they are doing. They have a total of six balloons, with baskets for 8-12 people. We were able to reserve a spot the day before, having stumbled on the info upon arrival to Olot. On the morning we went out, there were 2 balloons/24 people. We met at 7 a.m., take off at 7:30 after a nice coffee. The flight lasted a couple hours and we were back at base for a breakfast (included in price) at about 11am, all was finished at about noon. There is a reduced rate for children, our 4yr old enjoyed the experience as much as we did! She had a little stool to stand on so her head was just above the basket line. We felt safe the whole journey.

Our guide Xevi was really nice, offered some interesting info about the geography, and was able to translate everything into English for us.

The landing was an adventure and abled men partook in the folding up of the balloon. Luckily we were well rewarded for our efforts with a delicious traditional breakfast back at the home base. I know other reviews mention this, the cava and breakfast cake served in the sky is especially delightful!

A very warm group of people and a super fun experience that will be a lifetime highlight for us all.

Thank you to the Colom family! We will treasure this once in a lifetime (maybe twice) adventure

We had THE BEST experience this morning.
We were warmly greeted on our arrival at the company's base & given the required paperwork whilst being directed into a reception room for coffee & pastries where we could watch the team inflate the balloons for todays flight out picture windows overlooking the balloon field.
There were only 2 balloons today, often there are 5 on any day.
The team were very good, explaining what would happen & going through safety protocols.
We enjoyed lovely cool fizzy drinks (champagne) & cake while up in the air.
Our pilot was very experienced & knowledgable & was always happy to answer the many questions we had.
Upon landing (super soft touchdown) the crew were quick & efficient in deflating & packing up the balloon before our drive back to the company base for breakfast.
It was a wonderful experience sitting with the crew, including the chase crew, for a great breakfast of local produce.
It is great that this company support the local traders, producers & social enterprises.
The facilities at the company base are first rate in every way.
They are clean, well maintained & really classy.
They offer a first rate service & are friendly & generous.
I cannot reccomend these guys highly enough.

Consider this: you are outside and it is completely silent, no wind not even a breeze. Unearthly sensation. Silence.
The sun is just now rising at the horizon far away to the east. When you look down, you get an eerie feeling in the pit of your stomach... because you are 3,000 feet above the ground, nothing below but space, you are floating freely in a basket suspended below a massive hot air balloon!
The feeling is magical, as you and the balloon are indeed floating horizontally about 20 km/hr, exactly at the speed of the wind. Thus the air is perfectly still inside the basket as you drift along within the current of wind.
If you think that this feeling is no different from staring out of an airplane window midflight, think again. Firstly, you are outside -- there is no window! And, you can very distinctly see all the details below: the trees that make up the forest, the streets, houses and people that comprise the towns, the farms, the cows and even the chickens. You can even hear the cows mooing, the roosters cock-a-doodling, and especially the dogs barking. It seems the dogs get spooked by us above and respond as all mutts do.
As exciting as the flight is, it pales in comparison with landing this huge contraption! First a large field or meadow must be identified ahead amongst the forests and farms, altitude lost just so, structures, power and telephone lines avoided at all costs, and finally plenty of margin for error as the actual point of impact can only be estimated. And... surprise... the basket will bounce, become airborne again and bounce again a few metres downwind. Depending on the pilot's skills, there may be two or three bounces before we stay put. Once the immense balloon is deflated and rolled up, out comes the obligatory bottle of champagne, glasses are filled, clinked together and then quickly emptied!

On the GPS our air speed was 28 MPH, but it felt like we were standing still and we felt no wind because we were moving with it. The views were the best, the service great, the coffee and snacks excellent, and the breakfast afterwards was great too!

Absolutely spectacular views. I've never seen anything like it. This was my first hot air balloon ride and, though a number of our group were pretty nervous in the beginning, we all relaxed once we saw how experienced and calm our pilot was. (The cava didn’t hurt, either...) My husband and I woke up at 5 am and drove from Barcelona for this trip, and we both agree it was well worth the effort.

The breakfast that came after was also delightful. Filling and filled with great conversation and laughs!

Let me start by saying that I am incredibly scared of heights, edges and worst of all my children near high edges - so a hot air balloon ride with the family doesn't seem like a good fit...

    No matter. This was magical.

The company is family run and Chevy our driver? captain? pilot? was excellent. He was confident, funny, competent, dashing and spoke english well.

The day starts early - 7am meet with a complementary breakfast. You then load into the balloons that leave at approximately 5 minute intervals. Think there are 12 to a balloon + Chevy. Sounds crowded but it isn't as you are penned in sections of the basket.

Taking off and landing are by far the most dramatic parts.

The ride itself is totally still - you are in the wind so you don't feel it. The only wind you feel is rising or descending. There is no sound as you float. The views are insane. Looking over the edge of the cage to the ground MILES below is sobering. Especially as you are thousands of meters above soaring eagles..

You float over volcanos towards the sea.

Landing is the most exciting part. Only the wind knows were it will let you land and Chevy has to dodge power lines, trees, reluctant farmers, roads, etc.

But he does.. The experience is one I will remember for the rest of my life. At 540 Euros for a family of four it ain't cheap but so glad we did it...

After you touch down they take you back to your car in mini vans depending on how far you went this is twenty to forty minutes and they serve you a nice lunch with wine, coffee and dessert. An A+ experience..
