The olive oil production is now in its fourth generation The family member who runs the facility today gave us a brief tour of the groves and then showed us the sophisticated and expensive equipment that enables them to process tons of olives each day both from their own 5000 trees and trees of other farmers in the area. They are expanding their market internationally (though not the US yet) and have received several notable awards. We then tasted each of the four versions of oil they currently sell, each slightly different for different palates. We purchased three bottles of their most sophisticated oil plus a delicious tapenade. Definitely worth a visit.

Up close and personal look at the family heritage, modern transformation, facilities of a four generation olive oil business. Built on knowledge, family values, tradition and a reputation of sustainable organic production.
A wonderful virtual reality tour, insights and the all important tasting session by Nikolai Markellos. You are guaranteed to leave with increased appreciation for this bottle of liquid gold, that not only tastes great, but also good for your health. Don’t leave Athens without visiting Markellos olive grove and taking home any four varieties of Soligea organic olive oil.
