About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- kristink9220 contributionsTouring Tskaltubo's Abandoned SanatoriumsI did a hybrid tour of the Tskaltubo sanatoriums with some friends. The tour was great, and the guide was able to accommodate all my requests. The stops were very informative, and we had plenty of time to explore each one! The guide even went out of his way to ensure I saw some more difficult things to visit. I would absolutely recommend!Written June 18, 2024
- ollie_arrow0 contributionsPrivate tour in the abandoned sanatorium of TskaltuboIt has been a pleasure to visit the abandoned sanatorium of Tskaltubo and get a private tour with Giorgi. Beside the sightseeing, he explained us a lot of historic facts about Georgia and the genesis of the sanatoriums, which allowed us to better understand the country. After Tskaltubo he brought us to the Sataplia reserve. We warmly thank him for his sincerity and the passion in his job! Great experience.Written May 11, 2024
- Triscia Mae B0 contributionsBlissful TourOne of a kind wine tasting tour with Giorgi. It was really a nice experience and to enjoy authentic Giorgian wine, chacha and food. :) We did not expect to have a blast. Giorgi was a fantastic guide for this trip.Written June 24, 2023

- d_b0n30 contributionsThe best Kutaisi tour guide!Giorgi was a superb tour guide, he speaks great English and communicated with me ahead of time on Whatsapp, and even offered to show me around Tskaltubo in addition to Chiatura, which I definitely could not have done on my own in the time allotted. He was born and raised in Kutaisi so his stories from growing up there during the late Soviet years add really nice background color as you get to know this part of Georgia.Written October 27, 2022

- Norman H0 contributionsDay trip with a Georgian patriotI booked the tour because it included some sites I wanted to visit, and I was especially looking forward to viewing the dilapidated Soviet sanatoriums. The sanatoriums did not disappoint, and it was absolutely breathtaking to walk in them. The other stations were also mostly pretty interesting, just that the Sataplia Nature Reserve seemed to be directed more at kids. The guide contacted me before the tour via WhatsApp. During the tour, he was very knowledgeable, and he helped me to get a better understanding of the Georgian mindset.Written April 26, 2022
- András U0 contributionsHighly recommended tours; excellent, very pleasant and friendly guideOur excursion(s) with Giorgi made a significant difference in our Georgia experience. He is a very positive, well-informed, and friendly man. Perhaps one of the best guides I've ever met - and I work in tourism myself - . iAll an ill, he is a great guide and highly recommended. Needless to say that the destinations, both natural and cultural destinations are beautiful and well worth visiting. Thank you Girogi!Written November 8, 2019
- 138editaa0 contributionsBig company eventGiorgi was a guy who organized a company event for us (61 person). Transfers, hotel, city exploring tours, festive dinner - all was done on time, perfectly, without any missunderstandings or delays and even more - Giorgi was always ready to help and find solutions in any situation. It was the most successful event of our company (we have them every year) and colleagues are still talking about it and sharing their impressions. In addition Giorgi can offer private tours and show really interesting places also his homestay is lovely and in a perfect place. You will be treated as family member there :) Thanks you, Giorgi, once again!Written October 16, 2019
- Lita_JK0 contributionsYou simply cannot miss thatTwo different Georgias - before and after we met our guide Giorgi. Nothing else to add, try to find a difference by yourself. It was unforgettable experience to know Georgia through his eyes.Written October 14, 2019
- theosot0 contributionsBest tour guide ever!Giorgi was the best. He was the reason our trip to kutaisi was an excellent one. On our first day we visited prometheus cave, martvili canyon etc. He has an excellent history knowledge so we did not just visited places. He taught us past and current Georgian history. On second day we visited monasteries and cellars. He had the best suggestions on what to visit. For example we went to a family cellar for a wine tasting. Fabulous! Also he was the best driver! People in Georgia drive as crazy, but not Giorgi. He was great!Last but not least he was so patient. We were three friends taking photos on each step. He was patiently waiting for all 1000 photos!!!:-) We will definitely going back to Georgia for more days and the only sure thing is that Giorgi will be our tour guide again.Thanksss Giorgi. - Natalia I0 contributionsAmazing GeorgiaGoergia indeed is a wonderful country. Our tour started from Kutaisi with a super nice local guide Giorgi. We visited Okatse Canyon and Okatse waterfall. After, Giorgi took us to a traditional restaurant in Martvili ( included in tour price) also he brought his home made wine and served us! Most of all I enjoyed Martvili Canyon tour, you don’t spend so much time there but the nature is just amazing. Also we visited Martvili Monastery and Prometeus Cave, which is a must see in western part of Georgia. During the tour Giorgi told us a lot about Giorgia’s history, culture and traditions. Don’t hesitate to take this tour! P.S: for students, take with you your student card, you will have big discounts at all attractions.Written October 10, 2018

Giorgi took is time to drive us from 9 a.m. till 8 p.m. from Okatse Canyon and Waterfall to Martvili Canyon and Prometheus Cave including a bathing break close to the waterfall and a lunch break during which he invited us to some ice cream. Additional to this "regular" programme, he even showed us a cool lost place sanatorium in Tskaltubo (where he took great pictures of us) and lead us to Sataplia national park which we had wished to see. Even after that he was always there for us via WhatsApp whenever we had a question for a potential trip near Kutaissi and also Batumi. His English is really good so that he's able to entertain with a lot of interesting facts and he's also open to explain Georgian culture and politics.

Giorgi was an excellent and informative guide who answered many questions about Georgia. He filled in time before the last Prometheus Caves tour by taking us to an extra monastery and Stalin's personal spa plunge bath! There were just one other couple and us on the tour so it felt tailored to our needs. The canyons, waterfalls were stunning, as was the extensive Prometheus cave - doing the last (7pm) tour of the latter meant a smaller crowd. Just bear on mind when budgeting this trip that you also need to pay entrance fees for both canyons, and the waterfall, and the cave - they are not cheap for non-Georgian visitors.

We got to Okatse Canyon at the end of a long day which included Martvili Canyon, the Hanging Walkway and other waterfalls in the area. Entrance price was the same as other places - 17.25 Lari, but IMO they should offer combo-tickets to this place because it's close to the others.
The place was recently upgraded and walkways were added - but that was our main disappointment! Despite investing a lot in the walkways, they keep you far from the natural attraction you came to see, for no reason. With a little more thought the place could have been designed different to let people feel closer to nature instead of "herded along" on a metal walkway. The walkway is quite short and therefore overpriced

An active day with plenty of activities presented by a knowledgable and flexible guide. Understandably some of these attractions get busy in the summer months therefore going early in the day is advisable. Giorgi kindly adjusted our itinerary due to queues at Martvili and showed us the Soviet Sanatoriums in Tskaltubo and drove us to Gelati Monastery instead. Nice comfortable transport with air conditioning. Maybe worth advertising the admission fees for the attractions as they add a substantial amount (at tourist prices) to this excursion.

We booked 2 tours with Giorgi and were extremely happy with both (1-the Martvili Canyon and Hanged Bridges of Okatse tour and 2-the Travel Kutaisi Ancient City and Prometheus Cave Tour). Giorgi adapted the tour to our interests and the weather. He was also very knowledgable about the sites, conversational during the car rides, and a careful driver. Thanks to Giorgi, we even got to see a few additional sites that weren't on the itinerary or frequented by tourists. We also appreciated his willingness and enthusiasm to hike at the different sites and allow us to take pictures (rather than just hopping in and out of the car).
