Select Date and Travelers
2 travelers
Discover the Danish concept of ‘hygge and happiness’ on a 3-hour cultural walking tour of Copenhagen. On the guided walk, learn all about the nation’s easy-going way of life and the hygge vibe, and see a side of the city that many visitors miss. Attractions such as the 17th-century public housing project of Nyboder, the historical site of Kongens Have, and the shopping street of Strøget are taken in on the tour. Coffee and a pastry are also included.
  • Walking tour of off-the-beaten-path Copenhagen spots preferred by locals
  • In-depth explanation of what hygge means to the Danish from a guide
  • Included coffee and pastry from a local coffee shop
  • Guide provides suggestions of places to visit once your tour is over
What to Expect
Meet your guide and group near Nyboder, a neighborhood chock-full of 17th-century yellow houses. Walk down small streets you may not have found otherwise, listening to commentary on the concept of hygge, a quality important to Danish culture.
Stop at a coffee shop for a coffee and pastry, and then head for Rosenborg Palace Gardens (Kongens Have), also known as the King’s Garden. There, explore the quaint space and hear how it became an early public park.
Wander down some of the city’s oldest streets and stop at an organic chocolate shop for a tasting of its homemade candy.
Cross the popular pedestrian street, Strøget, lined with elements of Danish design that typify hygge.
Learn about Danish government and how the country is influenced by hygge.
Stop by one more cozy, quaint garden before finishing up in a local cafe with a better understanding of hygge in all its forms.
The tour ends in central Copenhagen.

Loved our walking tour with “Jam”! He was personable, knowledgeable, and discussed cultural views, history and just about everything Copenhagen! We made little atops along the way to sample Danish pastries and treats. Would highly recommend this tour if you don’t mind walking!
