About the operator

- littlehelen20100 contributionsVillage tour experienceVery poor. The hospital was more of a family planning clinic/maternity type check up clinic. Gentleman taking me round expected a donation. I had already paid a lot of money for this tour being a solo traveller. Witch doctor was a man sitting in a partly build house full of rhubbish. Parts of tour was enjoyable it just was not value for money.Written December 31, 2024
- 129soniad0 contributionsA genuine local experience with a dedicated guideWe loved the tour! It was the perfect ending to our 1 week vacation in Zanzibar. I would definitely book with them again if I were to come back. Pick up was on time. Our guide was very attentive to our needs. Gave us advice as we went along. And spoke French very well to share the stories of Prison Island and Stone Town. Our driver was just as friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful day. And I definitely recommend taking the tour with the lunch to experience the local food in a local setting. Thank you for this beautiful day!Written August 18, 2024
- Ecogreentoursltd0 contributionsgreatFrom the moment you step into "Thrilling Pub Crawl in Zanzibar ," you're enveloped in an electrifying ambiance. The interior decor blends rustic charm with modern flair, featuring vibrant murals, dim lighting, and eclectic furnishings that create a dynamic and inviting space. Live music fills the air, setting the stage for an evening of excitement and celebration. Drinks and Cocktails: The bar at "Tropic Thunder Pub" boasts an impressive selection of local and international beers, spirits, and cocktails. Whether you prefer a classic mojito infused with fresh mint or a daring shot of locally distilled rum, each drink is expertly crafted to satisfy your palate and complement the pub's lively atmosphere. Entertainment: The entertainment lineup at "Tropic Thunder Pub" is second to none. From live bands belting out energetic tunes to skilled DJs spinning the latest beats, there's never a dull moment. Guests can dance the night away on the spacious dance floor or relax with friends in cozy seating areas, enjoying the pulsating energy of the crowd.Written June 26, 2024
- 215rasheedah0 contributionsFoodiesWe experienced this tour during the Eid which made it difficult to assess the tour and get a full experience of food in Zanzibar. The guide was knowledgeable of the history of stone town and made the best out of a small group with large crowd. Food was light appetizers with decent portion, however, would have liked more food options.Written June 21, 2024

- pldelaney0 contributionsBar-hopping in Zanzibar! Our group of 8 had the most amazing time with Yuma for the pub crawl. We got to experience Zanzibar night life first hand with an experienced and knowledgeable guide. We tried the different local beers and got to walk through the town center. Our favorite pub was the last one we visited…the CCM Bar. This was an outdoor bar that was filled with almost all locals and had live entertainment. We had so much fun here we didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend this tour! It was a fantastic night!Written January 8, 2024
- pldelaney0 contributionsEnjoyable evening experiencing great foodStarted with a visit to a rooftop bar overlooking the city. Went to the Market and experienced the food and culture of the area. Our guide was great and answered all our questions regarding the market and food. Highly recommend it.Written December 31, 2023
- spuffle0 contributionsReally disappointingReally disappointing tour. The guide was 20 mins late. The first stop is a bar for a drink, but there was no reservation for the group so 11 of us encroached on a small group that were already sat there. Drinks were average and just served with standard nuts, nothing particularly interesting or local from Zanzibar. The market was bustling but we were sat behind the shawarma stores in a dark area backing onto the water. We couldn't see any stalls at work not any other customers passing through. The guide disappeared to get the food and bring it back to us, meaning we got no explanation of what we were eating (in the dark) and no chance to see it prepared. As we left we saw a tabled seating area that was well lit and in the middle of th market which would have been far better. This tour was a real let down, no walking, no interaction with those making the food and the guide was no more than a waiter. Waste of money and time!Written December 30, 2023
- 492shereem0 contributionsFun night outA really fun night out! Our guide met us at the Old Fort - and we set off on our tour. We visited Mercury Bar on the water, a gorgeous rooftop bar and then a party bar overlooking the water. Our guide made sure we all had our yummy drinks, and ensured we all got home safe and sound! We danced the night away!Written August 18, 2023
- A4151NOkathyp0 contributionsFun and EducationalMy friends and I really enjoyed this tour. The guides gave in depth information about all of the plants and we learned so many interesting things. It was a combination of walking trails and looking at plants and sitting and listening to information and watching the process of cooking with the plants and spices. They made it fun and entertaining. If you are interested in plants and spices, I highly recommend this tour.Written June 17, 2023
- sekufea0 contributionsFood tour of ZanzibarFantastic evening food tour with a wonderful kind guide! We walked around Stonetown and learned about the different doors and its history. Walked through the large food market like vegetables and seafood and meat. Learned about the different local spices. Tried some delicious Zanzibar food like orojo (hot and sour soup), Zanzibar Pizza, chicken shawarma, and topped off with ginger sugarcane juice at Fordhoni Gardens. SO many cats in Stonetown and so friendly. Everyone was very welcoming, I would highly recommend this tour! Approximate time: 2h45mins.Written May 17, 2023
- GeoffH11810 contributionsZanzibar (Stonetown) food market tour experinceWe were meet on time at our hotel by the guide Juma (we think this is the correct spelling) and guided through the streets to enjoy our drink over looking the city from the roof top of a local hotel. We then proceeded to the food market where his knowledge and advise on what to eat or dont eat was fantastic whilst provising a history lesson. He made us feel confortable and safe during the vist and the food provided was fantastic and he introduced us to several vendors. We highly recommend this tour and our guide.Written May 7, 2023
- 861wingyant0 contributionsStrongly recommendedI love this tour and i would recommend it to everyone. As a solo female traveler my guide Ahmed makes me feel safe. And he is very informative. the compelling story he tells about the abortion of slave trade makes me feel so moved. It is worths it This is my second time joining zanzibar local experience. Both are very great and both guides make me feel safe as a solo female traveler.Written February 18, 2023
- 861wingyant0 contributionsNice tripnice trip, it is a lot better than the tour provided by the hotel. I am glad that I joined this to stonetown the second time after the trip provided by hoteL. Because of the cats at night market though, they are not as friendly as they look when they are interested in your food.Written February 15, 2023
- Cmbh150 contributionsA must stop for foodiesI took this evening tour after taking a foodie tour during the day. I was worried that this might just be more of the same, but it was not. The tour started out with a beer at a rooftop bar (I tried Kilamanjaro, not a bad lager) followed by a stroll down to all food booths at Fordhani Gardens. There we had Zanzibar mix, which had already had once that day. However, this rich broth dish with some street food "thrown in" was different in both locations, with the broth being the star. We also had Zanzibar pizza which I had been looking forward to trying, and found yummy, and Shawarma. To finish we had fresh sugar cane juice with lime. My only complaint about this tour was that I was too full to try any of the other yummy dishes I was smelling. Excellent evening with good food and good people watching.Written February 14, 2023

Seamless trip. The escort was waiting for us outside baggage claim and promptly showed us to the vehicle. The driver was very nice and got us to our hotel in stone town quickly. Great experience at half the price of what the hotel charged for transport.
