A pleasant 'ride' along the river which had some good rapids but be aware that in late October the river can be quite dry. An excellent host who also provided snacks and drinks. Short bus journey to the river and we were treated to an ice cream before we set off. Some fantastic scenery combined with cliff jumping and swimming. Would definitely recommend! Tour guide was very friendly and made little games during the tour. There is also the possibility to jump from a rock in the water which is a must do during the tour. Wonderful moment. Everything is well organized, the guide was very friendly, funny and creates a good atmosphere. One of my fears before was the health of the horses, in the end I saw that they are well treated and well fed. The ride was very pleasant with very beautiful landscapes, it was not possible to take photos to stay focused on the horse, but the guide takes a lot. As an experienced rider, this ride was a really good time, with walking, trotting and galloping. Conversely, my boyfriend who had never ridden a horse in his life also really liked it. I highly recommend it, you will definitely have a good time. The aches and pains the next day left us with a good memory.

What an absolutely amazing experience we had with Funky Adventures on their 4 hour horse riding tour through Vosja National Park! This tour had the best views, a great ambience created by the tour guide, was extremely well organised (for riders of all levels) and the photos/videos that the tour guide made are stunning! For everyone who is searching for an absolutely unique experience we would definitely recommend this horseback riding tour with Funky Adventures!

Horse riding in Albania, absolutely outstanding, the best horse ride we have experienced.
The morning starts with being picked up from the hotel, and then a beautiful 4x4 drive through the mountains towards Lengarica Canyon that stretches across a length of 4 – 5 km, with a height of up to 150m. The Canyon is just past the Benjë thermal baths, located in the Fir of Hotova National Park. Providing you a taste of the exciting adventure you are about to experience.
About 30 minutes from Përmet, you are mesmerised by the endless views and where the horses are tacked up and ready. You get fitted up with a safety hat and feed the horses bread upon arrival, as a special thank you for the ride ahead.
It was lovely to see the horses were in a natural environment with endless meadows to spend their days.
The horses were incredible, all extremely friendly and well behaved. They were Albanian mountain horses, so are perfect in the rocky mountain terrain.
We opted for Intermediate riding, and the ride course they chose was ideal, definitely needed experience which made it more exciting and the horses were incredible with some of the tricky situations they needed to get through. You also get to ride through streams and along the edge of the canyon.
The ride took you through the mountains over 2 hours, the views were breathtaking!
We stopped half way through to enjoy a break, and we were surprised with mulled wine and a snack, the break was on a landing at the peak of the canyon, it was another world!
The guides Avenir and Olsi were so much fun and very knowledgeable, they made sure you were safe at all times, but also could have some fun, we enjoyed trotting and galloping to music while we took in the landscapes. They both absolutely made this a very special day.
Upon arriving back we experienced riding through a flock of sheep and goats with their shepherd which was a perfect end to the most magical ride.
Highly recommend the riding experience, there is no better way to enjoy the Albanian landscape on the back of a horse, you will be talking about it for months.

My family and I had an unforgettable experience with Avenir and his beautiful horses. The owner customized the ride to ensure everyone in our group was comfortable, regardless of their skill level. Avenir provided continuous feedback to ensure our safety and enjoyment. The trail was breathtaking and the perfect level of challenge. We even stopped halfway for fresh fruit, nuts, and refreshments. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather and use sunscreen. I loved every minute of it and have gained a new hobby for life! I highly recommend this unique and personalized experience to anyone looking for an adventure.

Avenir was a superbly skilled and encouraging (and fun) guide who led us on an incredible horse treck into the hills and beyond. Able to cater for all abilities.. we had an extraordinary experience and really feel we got to views and places we would never have seen otherwise. All the horses were wonderful too.. calm and easy to ride. We absolutely loved this adventure and have even been supplied with numerous photos and videos expertly taken while we rode. Very impressed indeed. Couldn’t recommend this highly enough.

This is a very special tour that is challenging but brings you to beautiful places in the mountains around Permet. It's unbelievable how skillfully the horses are climbing through the steep terrain. My girlfriend and I had a lot of fun and enjoyed it. The guide Avenir is very competent so that we always felt safe. He is also a good conversational partner. Thank you!

I went horse riding with my girlfriend and with another couple of friends and we all agreed it was an amazing day. I'd say it was my favourite experience in Albania in the 3 months we've spent here.
Avenir was a great host and guide and was able to communicate effectively with us. He was always looking out for everyone and was very enthusiastic about providing us with a great experience which he fully delivered on.
None of us had experience with horses but they were so docile and well behaved that we very quickly became comfortable and any initial anxiety quickly disappeared. During this day out we went on narrow and often steep tracks which was very cool, it made me feel connected with the horse and nature. You don't just ride around a flat grass area, you actually going into the mountains to visit the remote and hard to reach villages.
Lastly, we were lucky enough to go during the Orthodox Easter Sunday which meant we were treated to a proper homemade banquet. The family that hosted us were very welcoming and gave a little taste of what their life and traditions are like.
I'd recommend this to everyone young and old apart from small kids or people that have significant trouble walking as there is some hiking involved. The horses are quite stable and are easy to handle even for absolute beginners.
I highly recommend everyone to go try this you won't regret it!

This horse riding was so much fun! You get a good safety briefing before heading up into the hills. The horses are very tame and the difficulty of the route is decided depending on the experience level of everyone in the group at that time.
Avenir is a great guide and made the trip really fun. Stopping for snacks and to take in all the views was really lovely and we would recommend this to everyone visiting the local area.

There's no better way of exploring Përmet's beautiful nature than through this horseback riding adventure! Avenir is an incredible guide and he will provide you with the safest experience as well as take the best pictures of you during the ride. We passed through valleys and bridges, climbed hills, crossed the Vjosa river and even had the chance to gallop at the end. And for animal lovers, his horses are so beautiful, happy and well treated! Hyper recommended!

It was the best experience of our vacation in Albania🇦🇱
I was a little nervous at first, since it was just my second time riding a horse, but the horses were so calm and well behaved. Everything was explained to us in the beginning and there was nothing to be afraid of🥳
Both me and my boyfriend were excited, would recommend it to anyone. So if you hesitate like I did, go for it! It’s worth it😍

Hi! Sorry, I can't help you - we were there in our own car, never got around to using public transport. The trip was definitely worth getting up at 4:30 during vacation time to get there from Borsh;). I know it's possible to rent a car in Albania, maybe check that option. Have a nice trip!
