- OnAir299410405040 contributionsRome food cultureOur tour guide Francesca was very knowledgeable about the historical facts and their connection to food; Given the downpour & constant heavy rain, she still managed to make the tour a lot of fun! I loved her passion for food & creating a great vibe between our small group. I would thoroughly recommend it. NigelWritten September 9, 2024

- footballi20230 contributionsLovely food at a bargain price!Went on this food tour a few hours after arriving in Rome. I picked this tour due to the great reviews and reasonable price. As the cost of every other food tour was far more money than this. We had never done a food tour before and this was “more” than I had hoped for. The food was plentiful, also got offered wine and beer. My teenage daughter also enjoyed and by the time it was over our bellies were full!! The guide was warm, knowledgeable not only about the food but also about the history of the places. Each place we stopped off at was welcoming. Definitely do this tour when in Rome! It’s a bargain!Written August 25, 2024

Our tour started off difficult, as we found out that we had to find our own way to Ostia from Rome despite having indicated at the time of purchase that we wanted hotel pick-up. We were told if we wanted hotel pickup, it would cost us 130euro in addition to what I already paid for the guided tour.
We figured out how to get to Ostia on our own, saving 115euro.
When we got to Ostia, we met our guide Stefania. We were the only people being guided through Ostia Antica. Stefania was amazing! Her in depth knowledge of the history and architecture helped us visualize what this place could have looked like.
We highly recommend visiting Ostia Antica while you are visiting Rome.
Easy to get there: take taxi from your hotel to Porta S. Paolo regional train station. There is a direct train to Ostia Antica that leaves every 10-15 minutes. If you don't want to take a taxi to the station, there are several buses that can take you. In our case, it was three buses, thus it was easier to take a taxi. Round trip train ticket for 2 ppl was 12euro.
