About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- sylwiapX3907RF0 contributionsGreat adventureWe went for a 3-day Safari - Tsavo East + Amboseli. Beautiful view of Kilimanjaro and lots of animals in Amboseli. We recommend trip with the best team: the guide "Little Obama" with a driver: Kenneth Macharia (Bush Pilot). The gentlemen make a very harmonious duo and this has a huge positive impact on the entire trip🙂Written February 21, 2024
- smoz820 contributionsAmazing experienceSuper friendly and professional communication with Max, the CEO. From pickup until dropoff everything went smoothly and very professional. I can't stress enough how awesome our driver George was. He did everything to make this a one in a lifetime experience. Can really recommend this company to everyone.Written January 3, 2024
- markaY6135XX0 contributionsProceed with CautionThink twice before booking! Unfortunately this did not turn out well. We haven't been to Kenya yet so our experience with African Mosaic Tours has made the last week or so very stressful and manic. At first, Max, the CEO, was friendly, very quick at replying and put together a safari package that we were happy with. We sent across our deposit to the link that Max provided, he confirmed he had received it and we were set to go. Happy days! Or not… I messaged Max last week to update my contact details and he came back to me in his usual quick response time but on this occasion accused me or being a fraud, that I was playing a “ game “ and that they have never used that payment option before, therefore, he has not received our deposit. My partner called him but he was aggressive and rude to her on the phone and he has now ceased communication with us and appears to be ignoring emails from other people who are trying to get to the bottom of this. We were, and still are, baffled as to what has happened here. What boils my blood is his outright lying. Everything he denies is in the email communication between us. I have the payment link, I have payment confirmation and I have a screen shot from Max showing my money in their account. It doesn’t look like this is going to be settled through Max and African Mosaic Tours since they’re ignoring emails so I am going to have to find the answers through other routes. We have since booked another safari which just looks incredible but I would very much like my 1700USD back from this company. Think long and hard about booking with this company. I’m sure they do and have provided safaris in the past but if this experience has happened to me then it can happen to others too.Written November 25, 2023
- andreamK8803DS0 contributionsGreat Safari ExperienceWe thoroughly enjoyed our two-day safari to Tsavo East National Park staying at the Voi Lodge. We appreciated the hotel pick-up and drop-off. Our driver, Ben, was a great guide and made sure we had the time we wanted to view the wildlife. He was generous with information about the animals but not overwhelming and we had plenty of water. The Voi Lodge was comfortable and rustic (no TV). Meals were served buffet style with delicious options including traditional ugali and chapati as well as pasta. We were able to go on three wildlife excursions and saw a variety of animals each time. We would certainly use their services again.Written October 7, 2023
- NatalyGrisales0 contributionsWouldn’t recommend itWe took a 14 day Safari through Kenya and Tanzania with African Mosaic Tours and unfortunately the first part of our trip had problems. The main problem was our driver/ guide. To begin with he didn’t speak fluent English so communication was difficult, sometimes he didn’t understand us, sometimes we didn’t understand him and sometimes it even felt like he just didn’t want to answer our questions. While we were going from Nakuru to Masai Mara we noticed that the car was moving towards the wrong lane and there was another car coming in our direction, then we noticed that the guide had fallen asleep while driving!! We shouted so he woke up and continued driving as if nothing had happened. Then on our way from Masai Mara to Serengeti the guide got lost, he started asking for directions and he was confused while looking at waze. Using google maps I noticed we were going in the wrong direction and when I asked him what was happening he either couldn’t or wouldn’t give an explanation. We felt frightened in the middle of nowhere after hours of driving through unpaved routes, and the guide gave no explanation. Fortunately the next two guides, the one we had in Tanzania and the new one who received us when we returned to Kenya were very good. But I can’t recommend African Mosaic because based on our experience they could either assign you a great guide or a terrible one. Other problem was our first car. We asked for a van and the one they assigned us was very old and uncomfortable. When we drove through the unpaved routes everything trembled and sounded in the car, the van was very uncomfortable and noisy and it was nothing like what was shown to us in pictures when we were arranging our safari. Because of these reasons I don’t recommend African Mosaic tours, because although the second part of our Safari was very good, the first one had problems that should not have occurred.Written September 21, 2023
- Klotiverboti0 contributionsSimply the best safari operator ... always againWe, a family of four with two kids (10, 15) have spent a 7 days / 6 nights safari tour in Kenya in the last week of June 2023 ... and we are glad that we had arranged it with African Mosaic Tours. Max is your contact person for organization, keep bothering him on special interests, highlights, etc. ... he can male it happen. And request Omari as your guide and driver, he is professional and knowledgable as well as friendly and handsome, a great person. He even invited us to his private house for lunch (after the safari), very nice family and good food :-) Omary promised (not to mix with "granted") Big 5 and he delivered !!! We saw not only thousands of elephants and buffalos, but also black rhinos, leopards and dozens of lions. Not to mention all the other beautiful wildlife and birds. It was a great tour, perfectly organized and professionally accomplished, thanks to the Team. We started at Mombasa International Airport and ended at our vacation house in Diani Beach. Take a Jeep, not a Mini-Van, don't safe the money on that. You want to go on safari, not on city sightseeing or a picknick tour !!! Again, take a JEEP. Better views, great feeling, more space and never any problem even during those sometimes tricky road conditions ... and not to mention the jealous sights of tourists sitting in the small and low mini vans ... Now a brief summary of our tour. We visited Tsavo West, Amboseli and Tsavo East. Our main route stops were ... Rhino Sanctuary (a must in Tsavo West, there are not many black rhinos left elsewhere), Ngulia Safari Lodge (1st night, rather simple, but great terrace including leopard visit), Mzima Springs (nice green environment, ask fpr Steven) and Shatani Lava (okay to drive by), Amboseli National Park (awesome park to see Kilimandjaro), stay here in the park at Ol Tukai Safari Lodge (2nd + 3rd night, better stay two nights to relax and to see the big dude which is often covered by clouds), then Ziwani Tented Camp (4ht night, great with crocos, hippos, safari walk, night safari), continued to Taita Hills and Salt Lick Safari Logde (5th night, a must, the city above the skies), and finally went into Tsavo East to Sentrim Tsavo Tented Camp (6th night, here we saw a herd of 14 (!) lions). There are for sure hundreds of other nice places to visit and it first of all depends on starting point (Nairobi or Mombasa), available time and disposable budget. I can only stress one thing: You go to Kenya primarily to see wildlife, hence focus on this, you will never regret or forget the experience you will make. Thanks again to Max and Omari and greetings also from Mama, Egon and Tamina :-)Written August 12, 2023
- 489prasadr0 contributionsOne night in Salt Lick Game Lodge, Taita Hill SanctuaryWe stayed one night in Salt Lake Game Lodge, in Taita Hill sanctuary in Kenya. We started from Nairobi, in the morning, took a train from Nairobi Station, for 4 hours journey, on Nairobi-Mombasa route, got down at VOI. From there it is about 45 km to the ladge. The lodge, within the Sanctuary, is eye-catching for its design. The service was very good, rooms were nice. The food was good with, chicken, lamb, pork and beef on the non-veg side. There were large number of veg dishes available. We saw an elephant coming to the lodge to drink water from the nearby pond, other animals were also visible The afternoon safari in our Toyota Land Cruiser was a little disappointing. Overall an unique experienceWritten July 2, 2023
- 57maikenh0 contributions2 day safariWe booked an amazing 2 days safari with African mosaic tours and safari’s. Our driver Pascal provided great service, knowledge and enthusiasm true out the trip. He had the cooler box filled with water every day, he stood up earlier so we could see the animals before the safari-rush started. He really went the extra mile to give us the best experience.Written March 17, 2023
- wojciechn8450 contributionsMasai Mara SafariWe have just returned from a 3 day Safari. Our driver was George. We had the trip of a lifetime thanks to him. Smart guide, tracker, driver in one. Many years of experience made him know Masai Mara perfectly, we probably saw almost all animals, he told us amazing things about animals, better than a biologist at school. He is also an excellent driver, as we found out on the way back, there was a traffic jam on the way because of an accident, there was a threat of missing the plane, only thanks to his mastery we arrived at the airport on time. He always took care of safari participants. I recommend this office with all my heart, but always on a journey with George.Written February 19, 2023
- travel4truth0 contributionsAfrican Mosaic Safaris = #1 Best Tour Experience!Best safari experience of my life. Booking communication smooth and transparent. Great value for cost. Trip was customized to our needs. Camp site is "glamping" with en-tent bathroom and hot shower. Monkeys everywhere. Food was no frills but good. Take a private jeep instead of the tour van. It's significantly more comfortable and gives you access to areas of the park where you cannot go unless you have a 4x4 (aka where the big cats live). A "Maasi cultural visit" is a unique experience to see how the tribe that owns the land lives, but be aware that a sizable donation ($100 per visitor) is expected. The safari itself was EPIC! Our guide TEDDY was determined that we see all the animals. He was on the radio all day coordinating with the other guides. We saw ALL BIG 5 including the illusive black rhino, and I have insane videos of cheetahs at play. Teddy is a 22-year veteran and proved it as he was able to spot leopards and lions hiding in the grasses while simultaneously navigating very rough terrain and talking to the other jeeps. Compared to the other guides, Teddy was definitely the best at navigating us to the ideal spots for photos. He has a great eye and helped position me for amazing shots. I will 100% book with African Mosaic Safaris again when I return to Kenya in 2023.Written November 4, 2022
- smeza80 contributions7 day SafariI totally recommend the experience. Max helped us to arrange a great Safari. Ken was an excellent guide, he picked us up where we were staying and was always very friendly and teached us about the country and a little bit of swahili. He tooks us through the best areas of every park, and we were able to see the big 5 and many other animals.Written October 17, 2022
- Laura_pelzer0 contributionsSafariWe had a super well organized safari booked with African Mosaic Tour. There were five beautiful lodges and everything worked flawlessly. We can only recommendWritten September 21, 2022
- shaunajp0 contributionsExcellent in every wayFirst and foremost, let it be known that I worked with two other safari companies while visiting Kenya, and I found them overcrowded or uncoordinated, or both. One company completely forgot that I even had a safari booked at all and was scrambling to find a driver the morning of the safari at 6am. It was bad. Enter African Mosaic: a breath of fresh air. Max coordinated the safaris perfectly and was very communicative and transparent about costs, stays…everything. The lodging itself was gorgeous and comfortable. My driver and guide, Mr. Omar, was fantastic—kind, knowledgeable about the animals, punctual to the MINUTE, and he will even teach you Swahili phrases if you’re interested! The level of professionalism from African Mosaic is important in any international trip, but especially as a solo female traveler. For that reason, I cannot thank African Mosaic enough for concluding my Kenyan adventure in a wonderful way.Written September 8, 2022

- adiadrian20220 contributions4 days Safari to Tsavo West & East + AmboseliNasty trick allowed on safaribookings.com "vehicle" I paid for JEEP but got a Van. Good guide the driver but got no touristic info /customise support from agency about how black-dry Tsavo East and West are in July, few animals left and I wished they told me to stay more days in Amoboseli instead. This 4 days safaris with 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening are at the limit. Prices go up, not so much value for money, entry visa $54, park fees got to $62 per day, but few results - animals are dying of draught and just now authorities are bringing water to some parks to survive. So the people are buying water every day in half the country.Written August 26, 2022
