Wonderful Vine to Wine Tour in the Loire Valley
Myriam Fouasse-Robert provided a wonderful Vine to Wine tour for our family while visiting the Loire Valley. She was passionate about her subject and made it very informative, interesting and very enjoyable. We will definitely ask her for another tour when we are back in the area.

Brilliant tour! A highlight of our holiday.
We booked the three-hour tour of the vineyard, winery and cellar followed by tasting of 6 wines, with samples of excellent locally-prepared food. It was a delightful visit, and one of the highlights of our holiday. Our guide, Myriam (wife of the vineyard owner) was so knowledgeable and engaging, answering all of our questions and making the visit thoroughly enjoyable. Her English is superb. The selection of wines to taste was excellent and the food delicious. The price for the tour might seem high at first glance, but it is absolutely worth the money!

      Superb tour and tasting
Myriam is both passionate and knowledgeable about wine. The tour of the vineyard was fascinating, especially during the harvest, where we saw both manual and mechanical harvesting. Thoroughly memorable, really excellent overall.

      Vineyard and winery tour
Fantastic experience amongst the vines and in the winery. Myriam has the advantage of being a member of a wine making family in the Vouvray district that produces some very classy sparkling and still wines.

      Great into Wine making
From the moment when we booked this trip and got a personal confirmation we knew that this will be a good trip. Myriam contacted us via What’s App regarding the starting time. When the trip started there were still some participants missing, and the team picked the guys up as the guest didn’t manage to come to the winery themselves. Myriam Shared so much information and my highlight was that there is something called noble rot😃. We were guided through the vineyards, learned a lot around the caves in the limestone, and finally were able to test and try some of the vines together with some cheese, bread and other fantastic local food.

      Superb Experience
It was cloudy and cool on our adventurous drive to the winery. The friendly French smile and warm greeting chased away the clouds. Over the next 3 1/2 hours we were treated to the entire process of wine making. As a special treat we were allowed to visit with the harvesters and observe the care and experience needed to cut the fruit. We got to see the processing of the grapes, and taste the fresh pressed juice. Aging was explained, and got to see bottling. We toured endless cold damp limestone tunnels, full of aging wine. Thousands of bottles of wine stored and maintained to insure perfect taste and value. We enjoyed a long, comfortable tasting, full of flavors and explanations. If you want to know wine farming, wine processing, wine pairings, wine drinking, go to Vignoble Alain Robert. There, you can visit with the remarkable Myriam. She knows what you want to know, she knows what you have to know. Savor your some time with an excellent teacher. A great experience and a great value.

      From Vine to Wine
This tour of a family-owned vineyard and winery, plus a tasting of cheese and meats paired with different wines, was a highlight of our time in the Loire Valley. Myriam is energetic and personable, and she has a very deep knowledge of the business, since she’s lived in the area all her life and the business has been in her husband’s family for generations. The vineyards are beautiful and peaceful. The winery makes both sparkling and still wines, so we learned about both processes. We also got to see the wine caves dug out of the tuffeau (limestone) characteristic of the Vouvray region. The pairings at the end were delicious!

      Wine Tour
We visited the vineyard, the winery and the caves of Vignoble Alain Robert over 3 hours on a wonderful tour. Our host Myriam was delightful, her English excellent, and she had huge knowledge of everything wine, from vines to bottle to tasting. This tour will suit anyone really interested in the making of wine whether you know a lot or little about the subject. We highly recommend this tour....and a few of the Alain Robert wines!!

      Excellent tour, delicious wines!
Despite very high temperatures we enjoyed a walk and talk amongst the vines finding shady trees to stop under. Invigorating coolness in the fascinating cellars in the hillside. Myriam explained the journey from vines to wines, culminating in tasting some of their produce. Delicious Vouvray sparkling whites, rose, dry and sweet wines, with accompanying local food appetisers. A very enjoyable 3 hours, highly recommended.

This was our first wine tour in France and we loved it. Myriam was great showing us the vineyards, process and cellar. We learned so much. The food chosen for the degustation was simply amazing with all types of regional cheeses and spreads. Highly recommended if you are in this region.

Me and my sister-in-law visited Myriam's vineyards on 21st June. We were just blown away by the amount of knowledge Myriam possessed on the art of wine-making from the time the grapevine is planted till the time its harvested and the whole wine making process. We got to know the entire history of the area and the amount of sheer hard work and dedication that goes behind managing a vineyard. She was very punctual and started the tour at the right time as mentioned before to us. The visit to the cellar and the brief given by Myriam on the bottling process was so very insightful.
The wine tasting session with the local spread was just too sublime as we got to taste around six types of wine. Overall the experience was very very good and we had a great time. Here I cannot stop mentioning something. We were about to catch the 5.49 p.m. bus from Vouvray back to Tours. However, thanks to all our enthusiasm, we missed the bus and were wondering what to do as we had a train to catch back to Paris. Myriam was so very thoughtful as she came back again to the bus stop and drove all of us all the way back to Tours and dropped us near the Tours train station. Was really touched by her thoughtfulness.
I would highly recommend her vineyard tour and am definitely booking her tour next year for my husband and my son.
Thank you Myriam as due to all the information related to wine given by you, I will never look at a wine bottle the way I did before and will treat it with more respect.
    God bless you.

Since most wineries in the Touraine area of the Loire Valley close for lunch, I contacted Myriam Fouasse-Robert and requested a "Taste of Loire" tour with her, scheduled from noon till 3pm. I'm so thankful that she agreed to it since it turned out to be one of the highlights of our 12 days in France.
First, you really are out in the vines. The GPS in our rental car could not find Charmigny so I called Myriam. With her directions and by following the signs from the Loire toward Chancay and carefully reading the local winery signs, we were able to find the Alain Robert winery quite easily. It was definitely worth the effort.
It was raining heavily so we skipped the time in the vines and and went directly to the tour of the family's caves. Her description of the work that they have done, and continue to do, gave us a deep appreciation for the family's love of their winery and the hard work required to make their excellent wines.
Next it was time for the tasting. Myriam's presentation of thorough and well organized information, along with her selection of regional wines paired with local cheeses, charcuterie, and sweets really gave us a whole new understanding of wine making and the Loire area in general. She even somewhat demystified the complicated French appellation system for the Loire region. My husband, an avowed red wine drinker, enjoyed the beautiful Alain Robert family white and rosé wines so much that we ended up buying 6 bottles to enjoy during the rest of our time in France. I wish it could have been more!
Only minutes from Amboise, this tour is a definite "must do" if you're in the region.

Tthank you your this wonderful review. It was a real pleasure to meet you and to do this tasting for you. That day was a bit special as there had been an open house weekend at the winery the day before you came: as the tasting room was too busy, we had to do the tasting in an unsual place, among the stainless steel tanks. But that worked well! So there's always a way to adapt to the visitors' requests and needs. I hope you enjoyed the wine you bought while at the winery.

If you would like to have a great experience learning about the wines of Vouvray, you should schedule a visit with Myriam, who will provide you with a fun and interesting visit.
My wife and I know quite a bit about wine, and we were with another couple who know little, and Myriam did a great job of making sure all of us had a great experience. We happened to visit during harvest, which made things even better. And the wines are great too!

My friends and I were welcomed in the property's courtyard by the friendly Myriam. We had a relaxing walk around the village and the familiy's vines, Myriam was informative and interesting.
On returning to the house we had a walk in the amazing caves and saw the preparation and bottling of the wines all done onsite.
Finally, the tasting! Generous and again informative Myriam shared her knowledge throughout a lovely hour relaxing with us and sharing local food specialties. An excellent afternoon and great value for money.

We were fortunate to do the most interesting and informative tour of the family winery with Myriam who was passionate and spoke excellent English.
We started in the beautiful vineyards and although we have been to many vineyards were learnt so much from the explanations given.
The tour of the winery in the caves was so fascinating. Finally the local cheese and wine pairing was outstanding and delicious. .
It was the best tour of winery that we have experienced and I would highly recommend it.

We have done many tours of all kinds over the years, but without a doubt we will never look at at a bottle of wine in the same way again. Myriam was brilliant and taught us so much about the history of the area and the process of making wine and how to manage a vineyard. We took our 9 year old son with us and the attention he was shown was superb, he absolutely loved it, including the wild strawberries we found on the way to the vineyard. Just sitting in the vineyard with a number of french local delicacies was sublime tasting a number of varieties of the wine made on the vineyard. Our son got to blind taste a number of fruit juices so he felt part of the enjoyment, proving this vineyard isn't just for adults. He was also given a bag and guide to collect key items along the way...

Myriam was right Vouvray is found in our local supermarket, we checked when we went home. Vouvray wine will always hold a place in our hearts after this day. A must in the area and highly recommended!

Thank you so much for this great review and for your recommendation! It was nice spending that afternoon in the vineyard with you, your husband and your son. Some tours are indeed open and adapted to children from 8 years old (the Gourmet Stroll in particular, which is the tour you took when you came to visit). Children learn about the vines thanks to a scavenger hunt and get to blind-taste several local juices while the adults taste wine. In general the experience is very much appreciated. My kindest regards to the 3 of you.

An experience my husband and I will never forget! Myriam is so knowledgeable and took her time to talk about French wine history, philosophy, science, and economics. The local snacks we sampled were unique (to us) and tasty. We were visiting from California and had not had much experience with French wine, so this was an incredible introduction! Merci, Myriam!

Although a very rainy afternoon to start, my husband and I enjoyed the great tour and wealth of information Myriam shared about all aspects of family wine making in the Loire Valley. We loved the opportunity to see the storage, bottling process and vineyards in the beautiful Loire Valley setting. Myriam is the perfect guide- she is gracious and informative and open to answering questions of all kinds. An extra special treat was the pairing of local foods with the wine tasting, everything was absolutely delicious and allowed for an overall amazing experience. We highly recommend Myriam and the tour, it was a great!

Thank you very much for leaving this wonderful review! I'm glad you enjoyed the tour as a whole. The weather is the only thing I cannot control, unfortunately. If it is too rainy, I try to adapt the tours, for example by taking people to the vineyard later and by starting with the visit of the cellar and/or the tasting. There's always a solution to make sure visitors enjoy their time as much as possible. And I must admit cloudy weather often offers more beautiful landscapes and skyscapes than when it is too sunny and too warm!

I work as a wine sommelier in the USA and recently visited France with two of my wine students, touring all of the major wine regions. I happened on this guided tour on line just before we left and I have to say it was truly one of the nicest times we had. The "tour" is multifaceted and exceeded our expectations. Myriam Fouasse-Robert was out tour guide and it became immediately clear that she was incredibly knowledgeable and gracious in her presentation. We'd been driving quite a lot so the walk up the gentle slope into the vines on a beautiful day was refreshing. I learned a great deal about their vineyard methods that will benefit me as I continue to grow vines here at home. We then toured the wine making facilities and cellars and there again Myriam's easy going presentation was fascinating. The best was yet to come, however, as she led us to the tasting room where we tasted several sparkling, several white, several red and a dessert wine, all of which were paired with delicious local finger foods laid out on slate trays. Perhaps most impressively, Myriam turned out to be not only an ambassador for her own wines, but for the Loire in general, as several of the tasted wines were from other vineyards. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone considering.

Thank you so much for this amazing review! And for all the words of praise that I particularly appreciate. It iis always a bit stressful to have wine professionals visiting, as I know the expectations are high. So it is wonderful to read that you enjoyed the tour and found it interesting and educating. It was nice spending that morning with you and getting to know you.
