Once the equipment is fitted and after a first briefing is provided, about what you can expect from the tour and safety procedures, we head out to the bay for a short simulation. So you get used to the equipment and learn the best way to enter into the water, minimizing the impact on the dolphins for a safe and fun tour. Then the Vigia, land base spotter, will guide the boat to a dolphins’ area. Listening the wild dolphins and see them close, it will be an unforgettable experience.
For the ones who decide not to go into the water, and for children under 8 years old, we offer you the Buddy option. This allows you to stay on the boat during the tour and watch the dolphins and other marine life from above the surface.
Our company has a sighting guarantee, meaning we guarantee to sight one random cetacean species listed for the Azores. However, we cannot predict what it will be seen, meaning it can be only whales, only dolphins or both in a single tour. If no cetaceans are detected during the trip, customers have another opportunity to come with us on the first available tour. If weather conditions do not allow or customer has not availability to reschedule, the ticket price will be refunded.
