Leave Aix-en-Provence in the afternoon and head to your first stop in Lourmarin, the charming Provençal village where the author Peter Mayle used to stay. Enjoy some free time to walk around the village and enjoy a wine tasting or visit the 18th century castle which houses a collection of 18th century furniture.
Next, drive along one of the most beautiful roads in Provence through the medieval village of Bonnieux and across the Roman bridge of Pont Julien. You will then reach the hilltop village of Roussillon, the small "Provençal Colorado". While you're hear, take the opportunity to walk along the Ochre path which takes about 35 minutes. The last visit takes place in Gordes, a medieval dry stone village classified as a world park heritage by UNESCO and listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France.
At the end of your tour, head back to Aix-en-Provence.
