We had an excellent Private Car Charter experience with Chris (nickname) in late December 24, from start to finish. He was very punctual - waiting for us in our hotel lobby, ensured we visited all the spots we had originally asked to see, and took us to some of his own recommendations, which was a highlight of our 4 days in Sir Lanka (Colombo, Sigiriya Rock and Kandy). He’s an excellent driver, we felt very safe in his car and enjoyed how chatty and friendly he was! He’s also a great photographer and took some photos without asking us that will be great memories for us. I would 100% recommend booking this private charter! From the moment we arrived at Colombo Airport the trip was amazing. We crammed so much into two weeks from Adams Peak (and later In the trip to Little Adam’s Peak), a Sri Lankan cookery class, elephant sanctuary, some astonishing temples, a safari, mountain railway trip, tuktuk rides, tea plantations, a cultural show, and so much more. Our driver, Henry, took great care of us and adjusting the itinerary if we wanted to change parts of the tour. He helped us to experience the real Sri Lanka from roadside cafes for lunch, local markets and some fantastic scenery. We even detoured to find some massive trees with thousands of large fruit bats hanging around - surreal. Sri Lankans are a peaceful, friendly, happy, and helpful bunch. There is no pressure selling, prices are great and they are always hospitable. I can thoroughly recommend Merganser Holidays for this tour, and Henry went above and beyond for us, making our vacation truly memorable. Thank you!

The Yala full day safari was excellent from the process when booking through to our special day. Trip Advisor was in contact with us throughout and the whole day ran smoothly. Timing was spot on and we had an excellent driver/guide for the day. We saw many animals in their natural habitat although sadly the leopards were on their own holiday! A picnic lunch was provided - there were two of us but there was plenty of delicious food for many more. Henry Lionel was the Director of Operations and kept us fully informed - thank you. A trip which I would highly recommend!

I took this Jeep tour with Merganser Holidays. The director, Henry, did a great job with communication and then met me at the gate to connect me with my guide/driver. My Jeep had cushioned seats and seat belts which I was very grateful for. Once in the park the roads were quite rough and there were lots of jeeps. My guide was truly skilled navigating the road and traffic. There was no mic or speakers so the guide would stop and point things out to me through his window. I saw a nice variety of animals and reptiles. Another interesting sight on the way was the number of loose dogs napping and meandering on the street. The vehicles all navigated around them.

We had a wonderful day with Merganser Tours visiting Yala National Park. Unfortunately we did not see any animals in the cat family, but we saw a jackal, elephants, peacocks, monkeys, crocodiles, mongoose, land monitors, deer, painted storks, and so many other birds and animals. The lunch, served buffet style, was very good. Even my picky husband found food he could eat. Henry set up a WhatsApp group for our tour, and keep us informed. Henry was very responsive from the time we booked until we took the tour. I would not hesitate for one moment to recommend Henry and Merganser tours. Thank you Henry for a fabulous day at Yala.

Henry was a fantastic driver to have, knowing all the spots to visit and giving great recommendations for our honeymoon. He went above and beyond to give us a wonderful experience in Sri Lanka and make our 2 week stay smooth sailing throughout. An example of him going the extra mile was when he was willing to drive back to pick up our passports on our behalf which we had left at our previous hotel, a 3 hour journey for him. It was a pleasure to have him guiding us.

We really enjoyed our time with our driver, Henry and the service was exceptional. He collected us from Colombo airport and took us to our hotel, where we stayed for 2 nights before commencing our 11-day tour. If you are visiting Srilanka and need a tour guide, I very highly recommend Henry of Merganser Travels who is incredible at what he does. I was a tad nervous traveling solo as a woman but Henry made sure I was safe and had his watchful eyes on me, and gave me advise at each location.. He picked me up from the airport, drove me around for 6 days around Srilanka and he made Srilanka come alive. His knowledge of its culture, its people, its history, its geography was amazing. He had excellent spoken English and he customized my tour. Henry is passionate about his job – he has a love for his country, and is a shining example of a Srilankan. For our holiday in Sri Lanka we booked a car with a driver for 22 days with Merganser Holidays. We had a very good experience. The contact and planning of the trip with the company went smoothly. Based on the places we wanted to visit, we were provided with a day-to-day itinerary. Sir Henry Lionel drove very safely while also telling a lot of interesting information about the country. He is reliable and punctual. Things like safaris or transport to Horton Plains were also arranged by him, which ensures that you can relax during your holiday without having to arrange too much. The car is clean and well maintained. The price is fixed, and there are no hidden costs. I went to Negombo in Sri Lanka on the 14th of June until the 29th of June we stayed at the Beach Apartments in Negombo it was a very nice place to stay we had a lovely Apartment with all with everything in it that we needed and the staff and manager were very polite and helpful if i were to go back I would stay there again as it was also a great location with plenty of bars and restaurants near by and the everyone was very friendly there was a great restaurant right by us called Edwin's good food and drink and cheap we went there several times and it was my husbands 70th Birthday and they made a fuss of us and even presented us with a cake which was a very gesture .

We had a wonderful time with Dahanayake as our driver. He went above and beyond to make sure we saw as much as possible during our short time in Sri Lanka. Safe driver and very friendly and knowledgeable about the country.
