About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Nadaisy0 contributionsA LOVELY DAY OUT WITH A GREAT GUIDEOur trip to Galle was fun and informative. Vidu greeted us with a huge smile and spoke great English. He was very knowledgeable about the places we visited and landmarks on the way. The riverboat safari was a highlight. Do make sure you have enough cash to pay and extra for tips. A lot of places do not take cards. The turtle sanctuary does take cards and the guide was able to explain how and why the turtles often ended up there (nets, pollution, sharks). Most are released but some will not be as they would not survive. Driving through the Tsunami village was emotional, seeing the places still standing but showing the effects of that terrible time. The contrast in seeing the beach so beautiful and the sea so blue made it hard to believe what actually happened there! Galle was very interesting and Vidu had a lot of knowledge about the fort and lighthouse. We asked to skip the Mask factory as we preferred to spend our time outside sightseeing. We were taken to Jungle beach, a beautiful secluded place with lots of wildlife around it. I wish we had bought our swimming gear as it would have been lovely to spend more time there. The last visit was to see the stilt fisherman which we believe is more for the tourists now but nevertheless interesting to see. Vidu really made this trip. He was friendly, chatty and really made the day. We would totally recommend.Written February 14, 2025
- carinas2110 contributionsTrain from Ella to Kandy an overrating experience! This is a totally overrating experience, a train journey that takes 6 hours on a train. Ok you can see some nice tea plantage, but also a lot of forests. This was a boring and not worth at all to travel at this train. Ella is beautiful but so touristic and expensive. I will never go back.Written February 13, 2025
- Lina202440 contributionsHighly recommendI recently toured Sigiriya and Dambulla with Gayan as our driver. visited the Dambulla Cave Temple and Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The intricate cave statues and vibrant frescoes were captivating. Climbing Sigiriya Rock offered breathtaking views and a glimpse into ancient history. Gayan’s excellent driving skills and local knowledge made the experience even better. The tour company provided amazing service and plenty of snacks, which added to the enjoyment of the trip. Highly recommendedWritten February 10, 2025
- Gaiters0 contributionsLooking after customersThis tour came about because we had a Kandy to Ella train booked and it was cancelled at the last minute. The company agent worked really hard late at night to sort us out for the following morning. The trip was modified to accommodate our needs and the price adjusted accordingly. That’s pretty good service by anyone’s book and shows that this firm won’t leave you in the lurch.Written February 5, 2025
- John S0 contributionsLooking for birdlifeI chose an early start to hopefully catch the early birds 😉 the drive was interesting catching fish markets and early church goers. Unfortunately not many birds about but I did see peafowl with a male dancing, bee eaters, pelicans, pond herons and egretsWritten February 4, 2025
- PuttyMalhotra0 contributionsDoor-to-door Galle Fort with GuideDay trip to Galle Fort and surrounding area.... Our Guide & driver was Vidu Wanshaja... an ever smiling, every ready & ever helpful person...! Picked us up from our Hotel at 9:30 am and off we drove to Galle Fort in the South.... Talkative and good descriptions of the places along the route... stopped to treat us to the local special coconut water from the roadside vendor at a picturesque location at a beach .... also special Sri Lanka Bananas at another location.... Afternoon, took us to a famous place which is reputed to be where Lord Hanuman is reputed to have brought the special sanjeevani herb to cure Lord Lakshman, since he couldnt recognise, he brought and placed a part of the hill at this location! Wonderful... then took us to an isolated unknown beach downhill (its quite a downhill walk, but worth it) for a late lunch.... a wonderful tiny beach with a shack called Sansthara Fishing Line rustic but with toilet facility... Galle Fort was a must visit for its serene location, nice Cafes and the fort walk..... watch out, everything starts shutting down by 8:30 to 9 pm.... Evening set out on the drive back... Vidu could easily participate in an F1 race and win it if it took place during peak traffic in Colombo city! breakneck would be an understatement! All in all, a pleasant trip (except for the evening driving skill display) and certainly recommended...!Written February 3, 2025
- ninadP2954NA0 contributionsExcellent tour for South Sri LankaI just had the best day! Vidu is very knowledgeable and seems to know people everywhere. I loved that he also knows the local spots and does not just take you to the obvious tourist places. Same with the food, I was able to try the real stuff instead of the „not-so-spicy“ tourist version. Loved it! I am left wanting to see more of Sri Lanka. As a solo traveler I can whole-heartedly recommend Vidu and this tour.Written February 3, 2025

- zevenel0 contributionsNature close upWe would recommend this birdwatching tour . We were picked up on time by the driver from our hotel, a good transport experience, we were even bought a local Sri Lankan snack on the way home. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable as he lived just on the side of the lagoon. We had an early start to try to catch the birds early morning and we felt like we were the only boat on the lake. A very peaceful couple of hours among the mangrove inlets and on the lagoon. We saw a wide variety of birds including 2 types of kingfisher . Snacks were provided during the trip.Written January 10, 2025
- Dreamer8124240 contributionsAmazing Experience, Highly RecommendedFantastic experience with lots of good surprises. Loved the Madu River boat safari. The driver Roshan was very good. The only downside was the tour cost covers the drive but not entry fees which were not insubstantial for the boat safari and turtle sanctuary - expect to pay.around 20,000 LKR for these per person (around $70) plus lunch. Worth knowing in advance and cash was needed / expected for some of that.Written January 6, 2025
- Tanya F0 contributionsGreat day trip!We had a great day trip to Galle! Can’t remember the name of our tour guide but we booked it for Xmas day not realising it was such a big holiday but he was a great guy! Got to see so much in one day and our guide was very informative! Would definitely recommend this day trip! The scenery down the coast is beautiful!Written January 5, 2025
