- Relax4462120 contributionsAmazing tour of Roman RomeWe were given a private tour of the Collosseum and Forum Romanum by Vincenzo, and were impressed by his knowledge, enthusiasm and ability to make us experience how it was to live in Rome at that time. We learnt so much that we wouldn’t have been able to get from a book or browsing the internet. It was well worth the price and I regret not having the time to get another tour of other places in Rome.Written January 6, 2025
- ronpG9991DN0 contributionsA Superb Tour!!Our time with Vincenzo - (Rome Guides)was thoroughly enjoyable. I cannot overstate how enthusiastic and knowledgeable Vincenzo is, our tour was three hours and every minute was a pleasure, I have never met a guide who is so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun. Vincenzo brought everything to life with his explanations about the palaces, paintings people and artists that left us these priceless treasures. Without a doubt we would make sure that he was our guide when we (hopefully) visit Rome again.Written January 2, 2025
- amiep20250 contributionsVincenzo was the best tour guide we have ever had!Me and my parents went on 2 tours with Vincenzo. ‘Private Capitoline Museums Tour’ and ‘Private Tour - Trastevere and Villa Farnesina’. We had an excellent time on both trips. Vincenzo is extremely and unbelievably knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We have been on tours all over the world and Vincenzo was the best tour guide we have ever had! I can’t recommend these tours enough. Each tour was around 3 hours long but we enjoyed them so much, the time went so quickly. We learnt so much about things we wouldn’t have a clue about without Vincenzo’s extensive knowledge. When we go back to Rome, we will 100% go on tours with Vincenzo again. Thank you Vincenzo, you made our trip to Rome fantastic. These trips were the highlight of our trip.Written January 2, 2025
- carolinepE802YP0 contributionsGreat Guide, Great ToursVincenzo is an excellent guide with great storytelling abilites. This was my first time doing a solo tour and the time flew by so quickly because I was so engaged the whole time. He is incredibly animated and passionate about retelling history which intern makes you connect more with it. He is very professional and knowledgable, without boring you with information. I also did the Trastevere tour which I would recommend for a more laid back tour. The Borghese Gallery tour is well worth it also, and I would highly recommend going with a guide to help narrow down all the art and give it meaning.Written December 22, 2024
- Riekievy0 contributionsBeautifulGuide was phenomenal—so knowledgeable, passionate, and engaging. Hewent above and beyond to make sure every detail was explained in a way that made sense and kept us captivated throughout the tour. It was clear he had a deep understanding of the museum’s pieces, and his enthusiasm was infectious. I left feeling inspired and learned so much more than I expected. Highly recommend both the museum and the guided tour—it made all the difference!Written November 7, 2024

- Peanutgalleryontour0 contributionsFascinating, fun, perfect for familiesOur tour with Barbi is simply fantastic. She is able to pack in so much information while keeping her audience totally hooked and with 12 yo boys, that is a not small challenge!we spent two hours in the Colosseum and even though we thought we already knew a lot given this was our 5th visit to Rome, she managed to surprise us with a whole host of fun, interesting and well researched facts that filled our conversations for the rest of the day. Also, her great energy without being pushy is absolutely contagious making for a memorable highlight of our 4 days in Rome. Thank you, Barbi!Written October 25, 2024
- nancycQ8180VR0 contributionsFascinating, entertaining, thoroughly enjoyableOur guide Vincenzo Spina was an amazing storyteller who brought to life the characters and artwork of Villa Farnesina and the two beautiful churches, the basilica of Santa Maria Trastevere and ancient, later Baroque church of Santa Cecelia. Full of color and description, we were mesmerized for the 3+ hours. He had great restaurant recommendations, too! Highly recommend!!!Written October 14, 2024

Vincenzo was so knowledgeable and engaging and passionate about the history of the republic and the empire. He wove in so much information and really sparked a deeper curiosity in us. We will be back! And we will definitely do another tour with him.Written October 4, 2024
- perlad8730 contributionsVincenzo - GREAT Tour GuideVincenzo was an amazing tour guide! He was very passionate about the art and was incredibly engaging! We learned so much on the tour with him, our only regret was not being able to book him for our Vatican tour as well! A true pro who is art savvy and knowledgeable, would recommend!!Written September 26, 2024
- esdrasj20240 contributionsFantastic VisitWe took a 4-hour private guided tour of the National Roman Museum and the Baths of Diocletian. Martina, our guide, was exceptional. For me, who has a greater background in history, but also for my companion, who does not have a deep knowledge of the subject. She was able to contextualize and give very interesting details, we went through the main works and lesser-known works but with very interesting details. It exceeded our expectations and I highly recommend Martina as a guide.Written August 28, 2024
- 604katey0 contributionsTour with Barbie - highlight of our trip to RomeOn our first trip to Rome with our 11-year-old son we were lucky enough to have found Barbie at the recommendation of a tour guide in another Italian city. We took a 3-hour tour of the Colosseum and the neighboring Parco Archeologico del Colosseo which was equally interesting. On this hot Roman day in July, the time flew by as Barbie regaled us with stories of the past and was able to give us the historical and political context to truly appreciate what we were seeing. It also helps that she is a mom and knew how and what to convey in order to paint a picture that would engage not just adults, but children too. As a tour guide, she was also able to navigate the line system and the Colosseum and park which kept our tour flowing, while those without tour guides were not so lucky. This is very important. You do not want to spend your trip waiting in lines or wandering around aimlessly! There is so much to see and without a guide we would have not been able to identify much of what we were seeing, let alone understand the importance of it. When I was planning our trip I felt strongly that group tours would not work for us since my son would be outside the predominant age bracket of the group. Now that I have had this experience, I would highly recommend it, even for couples or individual travelers because you can accomplish so much more, navigate better, and the additional expense is incremental when you account for the total cost of your trip. Remember: your time is your most valuable asset when you are traveling. We booked several months in advance with Barbie and I highly recommend booking as soon as possible since she is highly in demand and the tickets to the attractions must also be purchased in advance to coordinate. Thank you Barbie for an exceptional tour!Written July 27, 2024
- Stay6444690 contributionsMartina is amazing!!I cannot say enough about Martina and how amazing our tours were with her! We did the Vatican museum and St. Peter's Basilica as well as the Coloseum and Forum tours the following day. By the end, Martina was one of the family. Her knowledge, explanations and passion are unmatched. Her ability to keep us all on track and engaged was practically magic. There was even a part of the Vatican we wanted to explore further, she gladly obliged and educated us along the way. You can tell Martina put in years of study. Her kind manner and attention to detail was phenomenal. From coordinating months in advance, security tickets and clear instructions, she's the best. If you have a history buff in your group, go with Martina. You will learn so much more. Even the other tour guides would comment to us, "she's the best!" Well, we all agree!!Written July 22, 2024
- EmanueleP870 contributionsYOU WILL REMEMBER THIS EXPERIENCE FOR LIFEIf I would have had the possibility to rate it 7 I would have done it. Last night was an extraordinary experience of a fascinating tour in the most beautiful city in the world. The endless passion and knowledge of Rome by Vincenzo captures you and keeps you awake for five entire hours. You get so well connected with the ancient city that you have the impression that Rome belongs to you and you belong to Rome during this time. It is not just a waking guided tour, but much more. History is intertwined with curiosities, past is connected with present (and future), buildings with people, bad with good, … a roller coaster of knowledge and feelings.Written July 18, 2024

On a wonderful April day I went to Ostia Antica with RomeGuide and a guide, Vincenzo, capable of transmitting his knowledge with a particularly empathetic system, making a visit never boring.
Making us imagine being a merchant from two thousand years ago who had to buy goods to resell, using a path that would let us discover what he would have seen and what things he would have needed for his stay. Of course we were late for our appointment, because Ostia Antica has so much to show that one day is not enough.
I - fortunately - am Roman and live in Rome and every year I return to the excavations of Ostia, early spring is the best time.
Unfortunately I had to give up the visit to the Museum where the renovation work has not yet been completed and is still closed at this time. I will return as soon as possible.
A special thanks to
Vincenzo who managed to never let us get bored (which is not to be taken for granted).
A day to remember with pleasure. Thank you.

On the occasion of the private tour of Ostia Antica, Vincenzo took us back to the times of the ancient Romans in a playful way and told us the story so vividly that we had the feeling of being right in the center of what was happening in that period. Vincenzo talks with passion and you can see that he likes his job. We learned a lot and laughed too. ;-)
Thank you so much for this amazing tour and see you next time!

Imagine you could go back until the time of ancient Rome. Imagine you could become a merchant, walking from Rome, with all your goods, all the way to the vital port city of Ostia. Imagine you could indulge in a day of baths, good food, business and chatting at the forum, shows at the theater, like you were actually there at the time, and feel clearly the presence of people, voices, smells and tastes: Vincenzo and Martina make all this happen, without effort, with their storytelling abilities and their huge knowledge of every single detail of the daily life of this city. A city that, after this visit, would have never been so alive, for you!

The visit was nothing short of spectacular for the beauty of Ostia Antica but above all for the ability of the guide Vincenzo to convey a lot of information in an entertaining way and to keep the level of attention high. My daughters were also thrilled.

It was a journey back in time where Vincenzo catapulted us, enlightening us with his knowledge and explaining with his theatricality what the wonderful ancient Ostia was for Rome, from the main street (the Decumanus), to the Forum, crossing the thermal baths , the theatre, the Guild Square, the beautiful thermopolium, in short, a wonderful experience that I highly recommend to everyone.
