2 travelers
On this 12-hour tour from Split, you’ll have the chance to explore the raw beauty of Croatia’s famous Plitvice Lakes National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage site is not only the largest park in Croatia, but the oldest in the country, boasting 16 cascading lakes, breathtaking canyons, and even Croatia's tallest waterfall. Enjoy a short hike around the Upper lakes, hop on a short sightseeing cruise around the Lower Lakes, and finish with a scenic boat ride and optional lunch at a traditional restaurant. This small-group guided tour is destined to give you the experience of a lifetime.
  • Explore with a guide: You won’t lose track of sights or get lost in a large park
  • Cruise Lower Lakes, hike to Upper Lakes, and see waterfalls
  • Purchase a Croatian-style lunch at a local restaurant
  • Return transportation from Split include for an added conevnience
What to Expect
Get an early start with a morning pickup from your select Split hotel. From there, hop inside a minivan and meet your small group for the drive to Plitvice.
Arrive at the park and begin a hike along the boardwalk. As you walk around the park, stop for photo ops of the lakes, waterfalls, and canyons. Make your way to Upper Lakes and get close to wildlife like brown bears, mink, or wild boar—if you’re lucky.
Your guide waits at checkpoints, ensuring a healthy pace and that no one is left behind.
Then, take a sightseeing cruise around the Lower Lakes, passing towering Veliki Slap waterfall, Croatia’s largest.
Opt for a Croatian-style lunch at a local restaurant (own expense) before the journey back to Split. End the tour with a drop-off at your hotel.

It is quite a long trip, about 3-4 hours each way depending on traffic. My group got back to split around about 7:30PM.
