I have been several times to the Foundation, but this one was extra special because of the 100 years anniversary exhibition of Cesar Manrique. I loved the photos and videos of different aspects of CM’s life. I got so engrossed I almost missed my bus. Going into each of the zones - huge bubbles from the lava rock and the way he has designed them - is sometimes breathtaking. One of the tunnels I particularly enjoyed. It all seems simple and in tune with nature. After seeing his video explaining how CM had fought in the 1980s to save Lanzarote from the speculators and the politicians and fought to save it FOR his people made me once again realise what a debt of gratitude we tourists owe him, because he has enhanced the beauty of many parts of the island and influenced policy to encourage beauty elsewhere. Thank you Foundation for showing his legacy.

Mixed Feelings
If your only way to see the island is to take a bus tour, then do it. But if you can pay a cab driver or rent a car
