This tour was amazingly executed. We walked through the streets of Penang and learnt so much about the history, the Malay, Indian and Chinese cultures as well as their beautiful food. Teoh our guide was so friendly and taught us so much. Teoh is a wealth of knowledge, so ask him many questions and have fun. 100% would recommend as a must do when visiting Penang.

Amazing tour highlighting the food and the culture of Penang, as well as its colorful history.

The food included Indian, Malay and Chinese and was more than plentiful. The religions of each group were also included as we visited a Hindu temple, Chinese temple and a historic mosque. We choose the evening tour and ended with a delicious cocktail at an excellent upscale, fun bar.

Best of all was our tour guide, Suryia. Knowledgeable and fun she knew how to keep us going. Must-do in Penang.

We live in Malaysia and have been to Georgetown and Penang countless times over the years. We have done many of the internet "best xxx hawkers/restaurants" list on the internet, yet the places that our guide Ron brought us to never made it into our radar and were excellent in terms of taste (unique / different flavors) and in quality. These adresses will enter our regulars. It was our first guided tour of the city and Ron is an engaging guide with loads of anedoctes and stories. Eventhough we were familiar with Malaysia culture, we learned a lot about Georgetown and malaysians. It was really worth it. I highly recommend this tour.

Very nice tour. We learned a lot about the city while eating yummy food! The tour guide was very nice and always concerned about our safety. Just one thing I'd like to suggest is to lower the amount of food given in every place because there was some waste, we couldn't eat it all.

The tour with Ron was one of the best we have experienced. His knowledge of his Country and of the various cultures was vast. He imparts the knowledge with excellent English and in a way that is not overwhelming and is very interesting. We are not meat eaters but he was able to still bring the experience of the different foods to us. He was also very helpful in finding the biscuits we wanted to take back to family. He is an excellent guide . We highly recommend the tour and him as a guide for sure.

Penang is well known for its food scene and it’s history of blended communities. The best way to really be immersed in the authentic experience is to learn from the people who live here. I was very impressed with the passion that Ron had for not only the history, but the food, the people and Malaysia as a whole. He shared stories of his own past, blended with the tales that built Penang and George Town. The walking food route stopped at the three main types of cuisine and ended with a surprisingly modern blend of Love Street. If you’re looking to learn, looking to eat and looking to enjoy George Town in an afternoon this is the best way to really do it. Thanks for the tour - the knowledge is well worth it! If you are staying for multiple days I recommend starting with this tour!

We had a wonderful guide Mr Teoh ( a retired teacher) Mt Teoh knew not only about food but also history, religion and architecture.
We sampled Malaysian, Chinese and Indian sweets, savouries and snacks.
We finished with a spiced rum cocktail.
What an amazing tour. I felt like I was on a food travel tv show.

Never have I written a review so quickly, but the high standard of our tour guide was such that I felt it necessary.

Ronald took us on the most insightful and emotive city tour that I've ever been on. He was smart, witty and catered to our group's needs. A real asset to the company and we felt blessed to have met him. The food of Penang speaks for itself, but this city has layers and layers of secrets just asking to be peeled away.

Simply Enak as a company were very responsive to my questions and booking enquiry.

Highly recommended.

We had an amazing tour with Ron. He showed us all around town and had so many amazing stories to tell about Penang/George Town. We loved the combination of history and culture with food. Ron took us to 3 food stops and the food he let us taste there was amazing. Great tour & guide, would highly recommend!
