Just one word needed to describe the tour: Amazing! If you like some action with kick ass guides then this is it! Went rafting for the first time and couldn’t have went with a better team, highly recommended!

In short: a great day in a GORGEous canyon. The scenery is amazing, the crew super friendly and a lot of fun. We thoroughly enjoyed having Tarzan as our rafting guide, letting us have plenty of fun and adventure on the river!! Big thanks to Hunter as well for a very cool ride on a kayak in a way I've never travelled with a kayak before. I'm impressed we stayed upright for as long as we did! Loved it! Shout out to the photographer as well for the great memories and doggo pics. Baloo looks absolutely epic riding along in the front of a kayak! Great day all around!

Incredible rafting experience. This was my third trip to Iceland and this was hands down the most fun activity I've ever done in Iceland. Would strongly recommend. The guides were amazing and true experts of the river and always made us feel safe. They also took amazing DSLR photos of us throughout which turned out great. If you're looking for an action packed thrilling experience, definitely try this out!

This was a fantastic experience for us! Mark was such a pleasure to raft with, extremely qualified and with a great sense of humor that put even our most anxious members at ease. Also definitely would recommend getting the lunch there afterwards. The river itself is beautiful and quite thrilling and halfway down you get a fresh warm waffle breakfast made by a local farmer's wife. Delicious! There are experienced rescue/photography kayakers that come down with you and these fellows were awesome as well. The dry suits provided worked well and kept us warm (in conjunction with many base layers; Bring those and socks!) We count ourselves lucky for having experienced this with Mark, Hunter, and Tarzan and definitely recommend you do too. We will certainly be back.

Great experience with the viking team on the east whitewater canyon river. Great welcome, very clear safety instructions dry suits are making the difference with others , big fun and nice jokes from our professional steersman Marc , kayak guidance from Monica and Hunter....man they can steer a kayak........and not to forget the support behind the screens, i believe it was Sara and the photographer Rushan...... thanks for this beautifull day , awesome Viking team greetings from belgium.....

This trip was well worth it. The Viking staff were professionals. They picked us up from Akureyri, on time. The journey to the starting location was via the "F" roads. So, don't try to get there unless you have the right vehicle and you know where you're going. :-) Amy was our driver. Mark was our rafting lead guide. We can't say enough about how well he prepared us to be safe and have fun. This was an absolute blast and we look forward to taking our 10 year old daughter on the family rafting trip. If you are concerned about being cold and wet, forget about it. Do it. And if you decide to book the meal at the end of the trip, the food was outstanding. LOVE LOVE LOVED IT, ALL. If you are worried about safety, consider the international credentials held by the guides. There was a medical staffer on the trip, just in case. If we ever do this with any other outfitter, we will hold them to the high standards we experienced with Viking. They set the bar. -Dave and Cris

Amazing rafting trip with Monika as our guide. Her love and passion for the job is evident. Smiles and laughter when nobody was watching! Super fun! Felt safe the entire trip. Do not miss the amazing meal after. Worth the drive alone. Teenager with an altitude says “ why bother doing else in Iceland ? Nothing else will compare.”

We did a family rafting trip with kids ages 6-10, and it was one of the best experiences we had in Iceland! Monica, Pablo and the rest of the Viking team were awesome!! They were knowledgeable and personable and they created an adventure for us we’ll never forget!

This tour was slightly disappointing to me. I've been white water rafting before and was expecting a lot. We did the extreme white water trip and it was an extreme experience. The guide was super and I really liked him. What I didn't like was one of the owners of Viking. He went on a rescue kayak with us and was flipped out of his kayak by one of the customers on the raft. He proceeded to scream at the whole group and breated us that "no one" did what they were supposed to do and that he had serious concerns about whether we would survive if we flipped the raft again in the Green Room. (One of the customers didn't even fall out of the boat, so not sure how that person was not listening) It was very sombering and actually ruined the "fun" that we were having. After our scolding, the boat became very quiet for the 2nd half of the trip. when we got to the Green Room, we were each asked if we wanted to raft it or walk it. Because 1 person decided not to raft the "Green Room," everyone was made to walk on steep rocks in rubber shoes because the owner declared that either everyone goes or no one goes. So instead, we got asked if we got to see the guide and the owner raft the boat down the Green Room. I did not think it was appropriate that because one person decided against rafting on an extreme white water rafting adventure that they signed up for, that the whole group was punished. (Incidentially, this was the same person who flipped the owner/kayaker out of his kayak while he was trying to rescue her; she also did not speak English very well and had difficulty understanding what the guides were telling her to do) I did not sign up and pay $200 p/person for a trip to walk along side of the river. Overall, if I could go back, I would have skipped this trip and done something else. The good part of the trip, however, was the guide Hunter. He was excellent. The dry suits were also good at keeping you warm. In fact, once you went into the water, your face was no longer cold from the wind. The pictures were also good, but I would have liked more scenic pictures of the canyon in addition to pictures of us rafting to be included.

The rafting trip was amazing. They really took safety to next level. We had an amazing briefing and initial testing the water training in first 20 min on water. Mark was hilarious for an English man ( no offense). Our trip leader anup was great. He made sure we all had fun. The trip pictures were so good. The crew was amazing. To top it off the lunch was exquisite. Andys lamb was so good. Best I had in Iceland. Definitely recommend booking lunch. Highly recommended tour in Iceland to taste the real glacier water experience.

As experienced whitewater paddlers, we chose the expert tour. Despite the rainy cold weather, the glacial melt water, the atmosphere was really good. The guides are experienced, the equipment is of good quality, the rapids are exciting, and overall the river is fantastic. In the middle of the tour, we were completely touched by the hot chocolate served on the river bank! We will never forget: “If River God has decided, don't fight against it. Just smile, the fun begins!“ Highly recommended!

The upmost thanks for this amazing experience, and even bigger thanks to the team for being able to save our trip as we were stuck at varmahlið camping site and they personally came to pick us up and drove us back afterwards! You may think that the trip is super expensive, its not when you go on the trip and you see the scenery and you feel the action. You are very much getting more then what you pay for when doing this trip. The trip on the water is super long aswell. Amy was an amazing rafting guide! Thanks again!

This was a top notch rafting trip from beginning to end. The communication from the company about how to prepare and what to expect was excellent. The safety demonstrations and overall safety of the trip were also excellent . Our guide, Benji, was a great instructor for those who had less/no experience and he was fun, funny and made us feel competent even when we weren’t. All of the guides were helpful for everyone and of course shout outs to, Tarzan, on the rescue kayak and our amazing photographer who took the best pictures so we can relive the day forever. The waffle, jam and hot chocolate at the midway point and the hot lunch afterwards were delicious. It was simply an amazing day not to be missed. This was the highlight of our trip to Iceland. Would go again.

Mark, Benji, Lucas and Tarzan took great care of our group of six during the entire experience. It was absolute fun and adventure!
