Absolutely brilliant. Any animal lover would really appreciate this experience, as a visitor to Australia I thought it was amazing to be able to get so close to multiple different species native to Australia.
We started off the day with the 8:00am Lorikeet feeding, this was the highlight of the day and what made it better as they are wild so they come off their own accord.
Next we held the Koala CJ who was so chilled out and friendly.
We explored a nocturnal alley which displayed reptiles and amphibians.
We watched the pelican and eel show, which was both entertaining and informative. They told us how the show was originally set up after they found a female pelican that had to have part of her wing amputated due to being stuck in fishing wire.
The tropical bird show was also great, again informative whilst also having an air of dramatic flare, almost like a story.
We moved on to feed the Kangaroos who were so placid.
And we explored further up their field to find enclosures for red pandas, lemurs and other small creatures.
Overall it was a great day, both the volunteers and rangers were always friendly and clearly knew their stuff when questions were asked. It was great to see that not only are the animals being conserved but rescued too!

This place is so much more than a zoo or even a standard sanctuary. The owners have really put in the time and funds to train all of their staff in showmanship as well as animal handling. The birds flight performance is a must see. They have trained these amazing creatures to swoop across the audience as they are telling the story of how the birds live, hunt, and why it is important to conserve their habitats.

We were lucky with the weather and as borders were still closed to Internationals, it was relatively quiet. We found this experience to be outstanding. It has been very well set out although getting around was limited to an app or the sign posts….I still prefer a paper map! But in the end it didn't really matter much as the lovely volunteers were plentiful and always happy to give helpful advice. I would suggest you check the times of the shows in advance and work you itinerary around them. The shows are excellent performed by the knowledgable keepers and of course the animals. We attended the feeding of the pelicans and eels, the birds of prey and the reptiles and tails shows…all informative and delivered in a very friendly - and often amusing-manner. And they have a two open aired trains that take passenger around the complex. Again informative and helpful for tired tourists. This place caters for all ages and a must for people who are eager to learn about our amazing animal life in an entertaining environment. There are also photo opportunities such as holding a koala supervised by one of the delightful keepers. And finally there are a couple of gift shops to give yo the opportunity of a momento or a gift.

Didn’t go into the sanctuary this year, just visited the bird feeding at the front quite a few times l. We love it!!! It’s a must do. Its our favourite thing to do when visiting the Gold Coast. It’s a gold coin donation to collect a plate to feed the birds from with bottomless top ups from the friendly staff for the bird feed ( nectar water).
If you want to go further into the park - which is a great day out within its self, you will need to buy a ticket, however the lorikeets feeding is free access.

I like all animals, so I wanted to go there. What I thought was especially fresh is that I can interact with animals directly. I am an international student from Japan, and most of the zoo in Japan must not interact with animals directly. That's why I was so glad to be able to interact with animals. The entrance fee is free, and it only costs money to hug koalas and feed kangaroos, so anyone can feel free to enter. If you go there, why don't you hold a koala?

The day a Currumbin Wildlife Sactuary was cool, overcast but no rain. Staff Anna volunteers were helpful. The park is devided into areas to visit. This makes navigation a little easier. But navigating your way around was a little difficult Anna we meet two or three lost visitors. The train stations, only two of them were not well indicated pin the map or signed and no where to look up the leaving times from the stations meant the train was often missed. As they run infrequently it meant a lot of walking that was unintended. The facilities are undergoing renovations, but a lot at one time. Many address effete therefore cordoned off. The exhibit pens Anna address are immaculate. The animals kept in premium enclosures with visitors having amazing views and photo opportunities from a safe distance. Food at the cafeteria anything not extensive in range covers all dietary needs.
Quite, peaceful day. Saw amazing animals in a beautiful setting.
Would not advise mid summer visits. Too hot. Nor wet day visits.

This was a wonderful day out. The animal and bird shows are very well done and informative. There is lots of wildlife and there is a huge kangaroo and koala population to get up close with. The Lost Valley area was excellent, beautifully designed and managed.
We chose to do the Koala High-Tea in the afternoon and have our photos taken with a koala and this also included a personal tour through the koala habitat. Kylie was full of information to share with us and we sat and watched the koalas whilst having high-tea...which was delicious. We would highly recommend this.
It's easy to walk the park, but there is a train which travels around the entire parkland and we had a lovely chat with our driver on his last run for the day. All the staff and volunteers we spoke to were more than happy to chat with us and answer any questions. There are volunteers available all around the park. There is a cafe out the front before you enter the park which serves lovely coffee and food on the open deck and there is 2 other food outlet options throughout the park and plenty of seating available. The lorikeet feeding in the morning and afternoon didn't disappoint. With a small donation you can get a plate of nectar for them and hold on tight as they're hungry!! We were able to see vets looking after sick animals from the viewing area outside the animal hospital and volunteers were standing by to answer any questions there also. Having not been to the park for 50 years, we were very happy to see it had grown and was still such a wonderful experience. We hope to have visitors from the USA in the near future and we will be sure to bring them here to see all our fabulous Aussie wildlife and include the Koala High-Tea or Breakfast!
The 2 gift shops have plenty of lovely gift options too. Parking is available across the street for $10/day. Overall, this sanctuary is for adults and children of all ages and we look forward to returning. Thank you everyone for a fabulous day out.

Visited today 6th July, greeted by an overly officious staff member wanting to know why we didn't book online and then was concerned that were going to pay in cash (they had no problems accepting $10 cash, with no receipt for car parking ?). After being released from interrogation we were released into the park to be confronted by endless signs advising
that the exibition was closed due to covid19. This includes the railway and most of the more interesting attractions. One tassie devil, one dingo, 3 alligators, heaps of koalas , ducks and a great bird show does not make an animal park
Sure, I can understand that the pandemic will have had an effect but closure of 30% should reflect in reduced pricing. This place is public funded and should not be ripping off tax payers with exorbitant prices, ie $40 per head entry for up to 30% of past offerings.
Try looking at food prices at $18 a hamburger. This is pure greed. The only committed staff appeared to be volunteers. Not even the lorikeets visit anymore, Reduce the prices to meet the reduced offerings.

Have been going to CWS every so often since 1997. Sadly it’s steadily gone downhill and is now in the “Rip-off” category.
A plan and timetable is essential for a visit and a printed copy used to come with the ticket But now it’s available only online – try reading that on a phone in bright sunshine.
Signage is pathetic. This could be such an easy fix – printed timetables of displays and locations posted along the routes.
Most of it is walkable - if you know where you’re heading for.– trust the noddy trains at your peril. The train drivers however are infinitely more knowledgeable than the largely superannuated volunteers, who frankly often do not have a clue. We ended up going around the entire site to a location 3 minutes’ walk away, missing the display because the train had to wait until another one cleared the station. After 3 hour of this, the 4 year old member of our party had lost interest.
Don’t get me wrong. CWS performs an essential role caring for wildlife and deserves every cent spent on that. But if it seeks to entertain, it must meet basic standards, and it doesn’t.
