One of the best moments in a Lifetime, The ride was just fantastic backed by a team of professionals who made sure that it was a trip to cherish. Right from the super friendly Pilot and the staff, everything was just perfect. You might find so many Helicopter ride deals in Queenstown but I would highly recommend The Helicopter Line , The BEST in the Town!!! Well Done Team!!!

We worked with InFlight to charter a helicopter from our cruise ship in Akaroa/Christchurch across the country to Mt. Cook. There we boarded another helicopter up onto the glacier. The flights and views of the New Zealand Alps were spectacular. Our guide on the glacier loves his job and his enthusiasm Is infectious. He took us on a fascinating hike around the glacier, pointing out stunning crevasses and moulins.

This was truly a “peak experience”. We’ve recommended to InFlight to do more to promote this option - it was expensive but worth every penny.

Kia ora, Scott! Thank you for taking the time to send us through your wonderful review. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your flight and the views around this spectacular part of New Zealand. We couldn't agree with you more, our Heli-Hike guides truly love what they do and have a lot of enthusiasm about the job at hand. We hope to take you on some more adventures in the future! Kind regards, The Helicopter Line, Mt Cook.

Will always remember this experience. It was one of the highlights of our Honeymoon in New Zealand. At first I thought it was a little bit expensive but it was worth every penny! You get beautiful views from the helicopter ride and once you land on the Tasman glacier it is even better. Walking over deep crevasses and exploring the ice caves! We had some kids on our tour and they did fine. We got lucky and even had a helicopter for the two of us because that is just how the groups got split up. It makes me smile just thinking about it :)

I had a perfect experience with this company. The welcome and check in from Dior and the team was friendly and efficient, the flight was fantastic in perfect weather conditions. The commentary and service from the pilot, Simon, was spot on! Would certainly recommend, and believe it is well worth the price point.

This was a beautiful way to view the NZ glaciers and mountain ranges. Well worth the effort (I hate heights). Thanks to our very knowledgeable pilot Simon. The snow landing was a fun chance for an impromptu snow fight.

Last November we had experienced the 40 minutes "Mountains High" flight in the Southern Alps. It was the only available helicopter flight on that perfect sunny afternoon. The flight starts from Glentanner Park, at the foot of the mountains at Mount Cook Village. Each helicopter carries maximum of 7 people, including the pilot. We were lucky to have just 4 tourists, so that only 3 people sat at the back and had more space to move. One person sat next to the pilot, they both had the ringside seat! After we have fastened the seat-belts and put on the headphones which are for the communication with the pilot, who told us about the flight and the mountain region.
After lift-off, we flew along Tasman River into the Aoraki/Mt. Cook National Park. The
Tasman Lake and the Glacier were just before our eyes. 10 minutes later, we landed
on the top of a snow capped peak. We got off and took so many beautiful pictures and video while enjoying the fantastic views! Be careful not to get too close to the edge! We stayed about 20 minutes at the top, then continued our flight towards the eastern face of Aoraki/Mt. Cook. It is the tallest mountain in NZ, 3754 metres high! We also saw people walking on the snowy mountain slope. What a sensational experience and feelings so close to this magnificent mountain!
Flew back to the base above the Hooker River with the crystal blue Lake Pukaki
on the far side. What an experience, what a flight, which was not cheap but it was worth! Just remember to enjoy life! We can always earn our money back.

I want to start off by saying I am terrified of flying but my friend that I was traveling with really wanted to do the flight, which of course was one of the longest flights - mountain high option.
We flew to a mountain range that was directly in line with Mt. Cook, there was a little bit of cloud up there but as we stepped off onto the snow it all cleared, it was the most spectacular view I have ever seen. Words could not describe it. I got talking to the pilot and explained I was a bit worried about flying and he managed to put me completely at ease. From then on we went across mountain ranges and saw Franz Josef and Fox Glacier as well as Tasman Glacier. To see the glaciers from the air is the only way, the colors of the ice, the cravess and the colors of the lakes was nothing short of spectacular. I would highly recommend this flight it was such a fantastic was to see some of New Zealand's best sights in one go.

Very professional, and the guides were great. We had no qualms at all about how the production was fun. There was a lot of attention to safety and all the equipment we needed which was really appreciated.

However, in our case, we didn't think it was worth the money for the following reasons: a) somewhat clowdy, the views / scenery weren't much different than what could be seen out the hotel, b) the helicopter ride was very short, c) the walk itself was pretty boring. Basically walking on a large ice sheet for an hour, d) no glacier tunnels / passages or other types of unique challenges.

I think part of this comes down to luck, as conditions vary but honestly, even with great scenery, its still pretty expensive for what comes down to a walk on a large sheet of ice. Really cool helicopter scenery would have made it worth it, but we didn't get that - you take the helicopter straight to a very large, completely flat, sheet of ice, and walk around for a bit. Thats literally all it is.

Thank you for your review and praise of our guides. I am sorry to hear that the trip was not worth the money. Many of our overseas guests have travelled a long way to experience our heli hike which is why on cloudy days we still operate the trip as long as it is safe to do so. Conditions on the ice are always changing, our guides do their best to find caves, crevasses and features to explore but these change day by day. The helicopter flies over the Tasman Glacier Lake and over the stunning ice formations on the Tasman Glacier even when there is cloud up high. Thank you again for your review from the team at The Helicopter Line.

Taking a 30min helicopter ride and viewing stunning valley view from above, then landed on Tasman glacier, hiking around for 3h+, including ice cave. It's a must-do when you visit south island. The reason I think Tasman is better than Franz-joseph is there is much less people, there are only 5 people walking on a 23km glacier for 3h. You are literally walking in ice age that formed tens of thousands years ago.

Thank you for your kind words and I would have to agree with you that the Tasman Glacier Hike is superior. The glacier is constantly changing and there are always plenty of features to enjoy. Many thanks.

We took the alpine Vista helicopter ride of 25 min. It is the cheapest available and shortest in duration.
I don't mind the short time as it can be quite boring if the ride is too long. This short ride is perfect to my opinion.
The place is about 25 min drive from mt cook village. Hence having a car is essential.
The ride has a highlight of landing on the snowy mountain for you to take some spectacular photos. We spent about 10 min taking photos there and I believe the total time spent was more than the 25 min that we paid for.
Highly recommended!!!
