I spent a week training at this excellent diving center in Gioiosa Marina. Very professional and friendly staff made sure to make my week a very positive experience.

We had a fantastic week diving with Megale Hellas on the best wrecks of the Ionian Coast and in the Strait of Messina! Roberta and Francesco are super friendly, know the diving spots perfectly and are highly competent diving guides which is very important when you do tek diving... And all that comes at a very fair price ! We'll go there again without a doubt !

On the day of the dive, my wife and I arrived at the scheduled time to do 2 dives. We are certified by padi in advanced and nitrox. Well, we left at 09:00 and got to the dive site at 11:00. A stone sand beach, very warm. The dive leaves the beach but the dive master simply does not help you at all. to carry a cylinder, a bag, to put on the vest or even help you out of the water. You are simply on your own. Other than that the diving itself was awful! Dirty sea bottom, practically zero life, zero coral, that is, zero interactivity. For the second dive, we went on an incredibly grittier beach yet. There were a couple of Germans with us with 2 children and the beach was full of shards of glass and trash. Worst sea bottom yet. There was even a car battery on the seabed. Literally a sea of ​​rubbish. The worst of it all is that we returned only at 6:00 pm to the dive center where we still had to clean and store all the material. It is worth remembering that at any moment we receive any help, be it to assemble equipment, to dive, to disassemble or even to clean. It was the worst dive experience we had in all the countries we went through! I do not recommend !!!!

The Diving Centre is an outstanding attraction for both experienced divers and amateurs. We went with a 13-year-old who undertook his first experience of scuba-diving. He was absolutely delighted, and I was overwhelmed by the warmth, helpfulness and professionalism of the instructors - especially Roberta and Claudio: equally proficient in English and Italian. The seas around Calabria are full of fascinating features to explore, and I was especially impressed by the knowledge of, and care for, the precious natural environment, demonstrated by everyone we met. Megale Hellas also organises sky diving and trekking. I can't wait to go back.
