I can’t overstate how much we enjoyed the two days we spent with Tiago at ComunicAir, the first on a tour of Terceira and the second on a guided walk. Tiago is an exceptional guide - incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful, very personable and friendly and a most authentic commitment and enthusiasm for the Island and community where he works. The tour and walk themselves were excellent - very relaxed, informative and tailored to our own specific interests. The time just flew by and we were genuinely sorry when our 2 days came to an end. I cannot recommend Tiago and ComunicAir more highly and would definitely book with him again if and when we return to the Azores.

An excellent walk with Isobel, which provided a great introduction to the island and some views which we certainly wouldn't have seen otherwise. Great value.

We had an all day tour with Tiago, very knowledgeable, patient and kind! We learned about geography, history, culture, and about everything in Terceira island. Even the children enjoyed very much! He took us to a great local restaurant, and beautiful places until sunset. I definitely recommend!

Ok, first, I fell in love with this island, Terceira, the moment I landed! Not sure why, but I just did! We had another full day tour planned and it did not disappoint! I’ll focus on highlights from the day because I can’t fit everything we did into this one review! Gabriele Vergani picked us up at 9am for a our tour and if you have a chance to request him as your guide in Terceira I highly recommend him! He personalized our day and was so knowledgeable about everything we asked...which is a challenge since I’m a biologist and ask some pretty crazy questions! Lol 1.) Monte Brasil - the views from this location were spectacular and driving through the gate to get up there was intense! I didn’t realize there was a guard, etc. Cool to see! 2.) Natural pools in Biscoitos - we were there in October so the surf was huge! The only thing that changed was that we couldn’t get in the pools! But it didn’t change the scenery which was amazing! The surf crashing over the pools was beautiful! Totally worth the visit no matter the time of year! 3.) traditional food at Ti Choa - I can’t tell you the name of everything we ate because we tried 4 traditional dishes; one of which was Alcatra and it was sooo good!! It was all amazing! We had an amazing, hilarious waiter too! I only wish I would have gotten his name because he was great! 4.) Algra do Carvao - this place was beyond words! To be inside an extinct volcano was humbling! It’s one of those things you have to experience for yourself! AND, our guide was not too embarrassed to be around us when we took out our travel pig! Lol 5.) Weird highlight for me was when a local was moving his goats right along the main road! Lol they just laid right down in the middle of the road! So cool to see this part of everyday life! There were so many other things we did throughout the day, but I can’t write about it all here! Amazing day overall!

We had a really good day touring Terceira with Tiago, his enthusiasm and knowledge of the island was exceptional and made for a memorable day. We felt that he had all the time in the world for us, and we appreciated his sense of humour too.

We made a last minute decision to take a mountain bike tour in Terceira and it was so much fun! Gabriel and Tiago were knowledgeable about the island, it’s history and things to do. They are the funniest tour guides we’ve ever had - sarcasm for the win!! We’ll likely return to the island and they will be our first stop!

I was fortunate enough to spend two amazing days with Gabriel. On the first day I had a solo custom tour that Gabriel and I worked out based on my interests and trekking ability. We did a lovely trek along the northern coast, hugging the cliffs, and picnicking while soaking in the splendor. I had a specific interest in the many colorful imperios of the island so we hunted those down during our solo adventure. I marveled at his knowledge and interest in the 15th century frescoe remnants that had been discovered on the walls of the Church of Sao Sebastiao. Great conversation during our picnic and espresso breaks. On the following day I was joined by two lovely ladies from the USA and we explored the many wonders of the island. Gabriel was a wonderful guide; he was passionate about the island and eager to share his geological knowledge of the land. On my solo trek, he was patient with my bad knee and my continuous desire to stop and photograph the gorgeous scenery. He was also determined to find me a restroom during our solo adventure which occurred on a national holiday. We eventually found one in a small market since most places were closed. Gabriel was genuine, warm and thoughtful and a wonderful guide. I never felt rushed during our two days together. Can not recommend this company and Gabriel enough!

After 2 flights to get here, we were a bit jaded, but Tiago was just great . Stopping and showing us viewpoints. we asked for more scenery than towns and we had a fabulous day. Would definantly book him again. If you really want to see the island, this is the the group to be with.

We went on a tour with Tiago and he showed us the best of Terceira Island. We had the the best time: a lot to see, local food, the best views and all kinds of hotspots. Really recommend this tour!

We had an exceptional 4x4 tour of Terceira from Angra do Heroísmo with Gabriel! He delighted us with his knowledge of the volcanic island history as well as his overall knowledge of the Azores’ and Portugal’s history and geography. He was kind and especially helpful to us “older folks” getting in and out of the vehicle and provided plenty of opportunities for us to take pictures and enjoy the beauty of the island. He spoke and understood English very well and we enjoyed conversing with him. We loved all the places he took us, especially the coast of Biscoitos and the amazing hike into the depths of Algar do Carvao. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the excursion and with Gabriel for our guide. Ask for him if you plan to go!

I cannot thank you enough for the opportunity to go on a hike through Biscoitos vineyards. My husband, 17 year old daughter and her boyfriend joined me and we were led by Tiago and, I believe, Giovani (He was in training and wonderfully knowledgeable). This was a full day hike so we covered a lot of ground. In fact, we started at the lava baths and, when Tiago pointed way up into the mountains, I thought my family was going to opt out😏 By the time they had returned they told me it was the best part of our trip and it was AMAZING! Both of our guides were kind and always checking in on us. They were also incredibly knowledgeable about the island and took the extra time to share information that helped us understand the island much better. I would HIGHLY recommend Communicair without hesitation. Well worth it!!!

My fiance and I did the coastal tour guided by Tiago, and we had such a great time. He was very knowledgeable about the area, and had a ton of facts for us the entire time. The hike was a little tough in beginning as it was all uphill, but for most of it it was flat or downhill. There were lots of opportunities for pictures, and about halfway through he brought some local tea for us to have. I'd highly recommend Tiago, or anyone from his company to tour with.

My wife and I had the privilege of hanging out with our tour guide Isabel for the day as she shared the quiet beauty of Terceira with us. Always pleasant and accommodating, we felt like a good friend was showing us all her hidden treasures. We had considered renting a car or doing a bus tour, but thankfully we did not. What we would have missed! Her knowledge of the flora, fauna, history, roads is only matched by her passion for her chosen island. Thank you for an incredible day and all the restaurant recommendations!

Gabriel was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable about the island, its history and the ecology. He was very helpful and pleasant. I would highly recommend this tour and this guide.

Did 2 tours with this company, and was extremely satisfied. First the 4x4 tour with Gabriel. He called the day ahead of time to confirm which was very nice. Picked us promptly at our hotel and we were off learning about the gorgeous island of Terceira. Gabriel spoke English well and explained so much about the island. He took us to all these wonderful places that I’m not sure we would find ourselves. He had so much knowledge of the island. We stopped for a traditional lunch at Ti Choa.....outstanding! The remaining of the tour was hands down the best 8hrs I’ve spent in a 4x4. A bicycle tour in the patchwork with Tiago...another fantastic experience. The bikes were clean and in good shape. He talked safety and gave us helmets. We bikes through all the stone walls and road the whole inner Caminho/caldera. The views again were breath taking. The ride was not flat be prepared to work for the views. There was one hill that was so challenging that many had to walk up! Oh my! But right after Tiago had tea and a snack. Talked about the area and the islands history. He is very well knowledges on this island and all of the Azores. This company comes highly recommended and wished I had time to do more tours with them.
