- 1Roaring Wine ToursStop: 6 hoursHunt for the best boutique vineyards in Central Otago. From Queenstown to Cromwell to Alexandra, you will see more of Central Otago on the Tiger Tour. Your day begins when you are picked up from your accommodation by your Roaring Tours guide. From there you are taken to your first winery in Bannockburn where you will taste a large variety of wines and styles. After you have been to your first vineyard, your guide will have a good idea of the wines that best suit your palate and will plan the rest of the days wineries to suit. In the middle of your tour, you will stop for a delicious platter lunch and one of the region’s best restaurants before heading out to Alexandra for more tastings as well as a guided vineyard tour. Natalie was incredibly knowledgeable not only about the wine and the region but of all things local! She was such a lovey guide. And her lunch stop with wine pairings was second to none. We highly recommend this tour if your looking to taste delicious wines, tour beautiful wineries and learn about New Zealand! If you have time and you’re lucky enough, ask her about Meads you might get a chance to meet Cole. Fantastic couple. Thank you for an outstanding day. Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed the experience!!!

We did the Lion Tour (full day) and were collected from Queenstown. We had an absolutely fabulous day with Natalie touring some amazing small vineyards in Central Otago. All wineries that we visited were super friendly and the wine at each stop was amazing. Natalie worked out very quickly what wines her guests liked and catered the tour accordingly. We were even able to visit a vineyard that made port. We even tasted some honey mead (made by Natalie's husband Cole) which was amazing and my husband was so stoked to be able to label his own bottle, which of course he purchased (plus an extra one just in case). Would highly recommend Roaring Wine Tours - they are the best! I even managed to purchase special wine glasses made just to drink Central Otago pinot noir! Had no idea they even existed before the tour :)

We booked a full day tour with Roaring Wine tours and had a marvellous day. Owner Natalie, picked us up from our Bannockburn accommodation and took us to five wonderful but very different boutique wineries in Bannockburn and Cromwell. We visited Domain Road, Remarkable Wines, Scott Base (where we also had an amazing platter lunch) Te Kano and Maori Point. Natalie ably gave commentary on the various wineries and their delicious wines. She is a certified sommelier and has many years experience working in the wine industry so she certainly knows her stuff! I definitely recommend Natalie and Roaring Wine Tours for your wine tasting tour in Central Otago.

Today we had the perfect way to spend a rainy day touring a great selection of vineyards in the beautiful Bannockburn area of the Central Otago wine region. For us it was all about the fabulous Pinots that this area is famous for but as well as enjoying the reds we were surprised by a couple of the whites we tried and very pleasantly gob smacked by the luscious mead we were served with our yummy platter at lunch.
Our guide for the day, Natalie has a great knowledge and passion for wine and we learnt so much as she thoughtfully selected the cellar doors we visited. Her expertise so generously shared from years in the wine industry from production to hospitality just made our tour so special. Imagine having a private tour with your very own Sommelier who can help guide and educate you along the way. We enjoyed the wines but the company and banter was just as enjoyable and fun. Thank you Natalie for a great day.

Visited really beautiful vineyards who provided us with brilliant personal service.
Natalie is really friendly and informative and goes the extra mile to ensure you have the most fantastic experience.
Highlights were visiting Remarkable wines and trying their beautiful and carefully crafted wines. Maori Point, Scott Base and Judge Rock were also fantastic.

Natalie picked us up in Queenstown to take us out on our tour. It very quickly became apparent that she really knows wine and the wineries in this wonderful Otago region. We met with winery owners and knowledgeable staff who were able to give us their full time and attention. Lunch at Desert Heart was simply outstanding! We feel very lucky to have had such a terrific and personable guide. We would recommend this tour to anyone!

natalie took me for a full-day wine tour in aug 2018, where we focussed on pinot. we went to 6 vineyards, which was more than i was expecting initially, but natalie handled it in such a pro way. the selection and curation of visits was exciting and eye-opening, as i had a chance to learn about all the sub-regions in central otago, and discover the different styles by small producers. i tasted and bought so much amazing wine.
what made natalie so special was her connection to wine. she's not just a 'driver'. she has deep industry experience, in particular as a sommelier for both the hospitality and tourism industries. she made a really concerted effort to learn about me and my preferences as the day progressed, which contributed to effect of the day getting even better toward the end.
natalie gave me the best wine tour experience i have ever had, and i have had many all over the world. i cannot recommend her enough. i will actually try to meet up with her again the next time i am in that part of the world.

Our group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our day. Natalie's knowledge of the growers, their wines and the region was just so interesting. We loved the personalised laid back, no rush day and enjoyed the wines and chats at each stop. Delicious platter at Scott Base winery and we appreciated the delicious cherries Natalie went and bought for us when we got talking about the local fruits. Could not fault one thing about our day and how lucky we were the sun was shining too!
