    Great views
We didn’t do the tour of the lighthouse but the views from the walkways around it were amazing. It was very windy, cold & some rain when we were there so unfortunately couldn’t go for walks around the area. The roads leading to it are not great so if you have any back issues take this into consideration…very uncomfortable journey.

    Hook Lighthouse - Great Tour
Had a fantastic visit to the Hook; we also had the weather on our side so got to see some amazing views. Really interesting tour of the lighthouse and our guide Noel was super; so knowledgeable and entertaining - he made a big fuss of our daughter involving her in the tour something she won't forget. A visit here is a must if you are in the area.

Noel was a super guide. The real deal. Passionate about Hook Head and its interesting history. Has a great sense of humour which added to the tour. So glad we went.

    Fabulous tour and stunning views
Stunning views (see photos) but what made this tour exceptional was our tour guide Paul who took us through the lighthouse while telling us about its 800 years of history. His deep knowledge, ability to create a narrative and his humour made it one of the best tours I have had. Also visit the restaurant afterwards -- the food is delicious and the views unbeatable!

    Great family day out
We had such a great time. John our guide was a gifted speaker and historian and had lots of quirky and controversial things to say. Our kids loved it. Will say that for older people all the stair climbing would be difficult. Lovely cafe and shop and loads of fossils to be found on the surrounding rocks. Recommend 1000%

    Magnificent. Just go - unmissable!
Majestic! The lighthouse itself, the spectacular location and the history would make this a must visit. But on top of that, the team!! John our tour guide was the most engaged, committed and passionate guide ever. He brought everything to the tour and we left feeling so moved, inspired and well informed. All the guys in the team were so fun, great chat and stories and couldn’t have made us more welcome.

    Interesting visit
As lighthouse lovers, we definitely had this on our to do list, especially as it’s the oldest working lighthouse in the world. We weren’t disappointed. It’s easy to get to on a good road with plenty of parking. The lighthouse and associated building are in good condition externally and very photogenic. We didn’t go inside the lighthouse as our knees are no longer up to the stairs but there’s plenty of other information about the lighthouse plus a good café, lots of outdoor picnic seating plus toilets available so it’s easy to spend time here, especially if you want to walk around the local headland for the views as well. Recommended.

    A great day out!
I would give this place 6 stars if I could! We had such a fantastic visit here. The lighthouse itself has a fascinating history, but the staff at this place really make the visit - they're so enthusiastic and welcoming and clearly have a real love for the place. Tracy was our tour guide and kept us well entertained with history and stories for nearly an hour. This lady is an absolute mine of information! The coffee shop serves really lovely food and very reasonably priced. Would recommend this attraction to all ages, its well worth a visit!

Excellent guided tour of light house. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable & interested in his job he had great stories to share. Kids loved it especially pirate ship play structure. Lovely coffee shop fab views from conservatory. We did try to book online but kept coming up as no availability so we we booked an access pass which was free so you get access to everything in ground except lighthouse. We got a tour no problem but I don't think it's very clear from website the way things are running due to mixed groups/covid 19. Well worth the trip to hook head for views alone.

Great family tour and trip to Hook Lighthouse. Our tour guide John was enthusiastic, professional and highly informed on the history of the Lighthouse. The tour was great value and lasted 1 hour with the opportunity to take plenty of pictures once you reached the viewing area. The surrounding picnic area is spacious and well maintained and the views are simply stunning. Facilities were clean and the tour was not crowded. Bring comfortable shoes as there are a lot of steps in the lighthouse. Thanks John and the team for a really enjoyable day out.

We live in Dublin and have been trying our best to visit historical places around the countryside.
Hook Lighthouse has been on our list for a while now and what a beautiful jewel it is.
It took us approx 2.5hrs to reach Hook from Dublin. We phoned some days in advance and booked our tour.
Theres a free car park and some onsite facilities such as a cafe and a childrens play area. A very short walk leads to a rocky shoreline with beautiful bluey green seas. We had a bite to eat at the cafe, seafood chowder highly reccommended, and sat and watched the crashing waves in glorious sunshine.
The tour of the Lighthouse is very special. Our wonderful guide Noel was animated and playful in his delivery of the history behind the Lighthouse from its very beginning right up until the 1980's when the last of its residents left the tower.
Noel explained all about the current workings of the lighthouse and encouraged the younger members of our group to probe and ask questions.
We now have a hunger to visit some more of these beautiful structures dotted all around our beautiful coast lines. Thank you Hook.

what an amazing tour. One of the best we have have ever done in any country simply due to Noel Lynch our tour guide. As he mentioned at the end if you could market my smile and excitement after it he would. Noel brought a passion for hook lighthouse and lighthouses in general with an enthusiasm and finesse of a poet telling the story. He brought it to life and instilled a sense of pride excitemnet for future staycations and we will no doubt be back again. Thank you so much.
In general the whole venue was so well run. A massive thanks to all staff. You made our trip so memorable.

John and roisin.

Just had an amazing time here today 10/11/21.
Our tour guide was Jason, what a brilliant tour he gave, the building is steeped in history and fantastic to experience and see, and the view on a beautiful day was amazing.
We finished off by having lunch in adjoining restaurant, where the food was excellent, I would highly recommend the sea food chowder it was fab. They only had a small bit left when we arrived we were disappointed as people on the tour were saying it was fab.
They were cooking more but was too late for us, and we were completely delighted They brought us a taster. It was just fantastic.
The staff were so friendly and helpful and funny. Top marks to the hook light house team and highly recommended the tour and trip. Well done folks.

Hi light of our trip to Wexford. We visited as a family of 4 and paid for the guided tour which I cannot recommend enough. Our tour guide Jason was outstanding and so knowledgable, friendly and funny. He really made sure to include my 2 young kids so the info was as relevant to them as well. You don’t have to pay to walk around the grounds of the lighthouse but I would suggest the tour if you are visiting as it’s the only way to enter the lighthouse but it’s also such a great tour and the views from the top are outstanding. While we were there there was an opportunity to do a painting class where you were able to paint onto slate. It’s looked great fun and was very reasonable but we didn’t know about it in advance and didn’t have the time to stay but we will if ever we go back.

Did a Tour on Sunday and Jason was fantastic , he answered every question, he did not mind the kids asking loads and loads of questions. We stayed for almost four hours and left only for the reason that we had a booking elsewhere. Lovely and clean outside and inside and greeted by every member of staff with a friendly hello and how can we help. My Husband was under the impression its just a lighthouse and it might not be that enjoyable , a quick tour and just go. He is now already looking into going back and seen it all again, the history is dating back over 1500 years and the lighthouse its self , over 800 years. All around from the staff at the entrance, Jason the guide , the young girl that served us coffee five stars.

The guided tour of the lighthouse was super. John was a brilliant guide and was very entertaining in narrating the amazing history and stories of the lighthouse. The weather at the time was fine and the views from the top of the lighthouse were stunning. I would highly recommend the tour and the café.
Also, if the weather permits, take time to walk along the coastline.

We are a family of 5. We didn't have the weather on our side, it was rainy, overcast & blustery. However, Clare, our tour guide, brightened up our day. With great knowledge about the history of the light house, she made it fun, extremely interesting and encouraged lots of questions from our group. She was fantastic with all the children, there were approx 15 kids in the group and she remembered every child's name. Thank you Clare, you made our visit worthwhile.
We will definitely be back next year, will check the weather first.
