Visit: Museo del Confetto Mucci Giovanni, Via Museo del Confetto 12, 76123, Andria Italy
Definitely a must-see when visiting Andria city.
Park your car near the town square ‘Piazza Umberto I’, where you can stop for a quick rest (due to the presence of some bars), and reach the museum on foot for about 100 meters, following the road signs of ‘Museo del Confetto’ and enjoying the characteristic view of the historical center of Andria. A few steps from the Cathedral, you find the ‘Confetto Museum', recognized by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and numbered among the Historical Places of Italy. It is housed in a beautiful 'Art Nouveau' building, the original headquarters of the Mucci confetti factory, created in 1894 by Nicola Mucci.
Pleasant and cute girls welcome you and bring you to discover this wonderful sweet world. Starting point is at the ‘Confetteria’ (shop and showroom), where for about 15 minutes the story of ‘Casa Mucci’ and the traditions related to the ‘Confetti’ are told, together with the tasting of the most typical and historical Mucci specialties, among which the famous “Tenerelli Mucci®”. Immediately after, the girls will guide you through the four sections of the museum in a tour which lasts about 30 minutes. In the first room, dedicated to the confetti, in addition to documents, sieves, strainers, macerators, molds for the packaging of the marzipan fruit, the copper basins and branlantes used for the confection are noticeable. In the second room a video illustrates the most important phases of the current processing of confetti and dragées. The third room contains machinery, molds and equipment for processing chocolate, including a vintage tempering machine and a melangeur. In the fourth room there are the machines with hand-rolled bronze rollers for the preparation of candies. The tour concludes in the ‘Confetteria’ (shop and showroom), where you will be able to purchase Mucci products.
An extraordinary experience you will never forget!
