My husband and I had an amazing time on the tour! Seeing the bioluminescent plankton is something I now recommend to all my friends traveling to Holbox. It’s like holding the galaxy in your hands. Alejandro’s tour was super well organized and also learned quite a bit about the different types of plankton and bonus info about the stars and planets in the sky as well. They provided wetsuits to protect and keep us warm while in the water and also helps ward of the famous mosquitoes of the area. Super amazing and is worth experiencing again!

The views were amaaaaaazing. We were able to see so many constellations and the Milky Way on the way to the water. The water looked just like the sky - very sparkly like glitter was thrown on it. The communication was great leading up to the tour. Definitely download what's app before your trip to Mexico. Our guide was great and she checked in to make sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the experience. She was energetic and very accommodating with translating well from Spanish to English. Her birthday was right at midnight as we headed back to the tour and she only mentioned it bc I mentioned mine just passed. She was the best! It was all a great experience.

Alejandro shows you the starts and looks for the perfect spot for you to enjoy the beautiful bioluminescence. I didn’t know how to except from this, and it was hands down the best part of our trip.
I went with friend and we all were amazed by this experience. You use a divers suit to have better vision of the bioluminescence and to protect you from the mosquitos. The whole experience was awesome!!

Wow! This tour was amazing. Not only did our very knowledgeable tour guide, Alex, provide us with wet suits and water shoes, he also picked us up promptly at the set time, drove us to the (I would say very hard to get to) site, and gave us such a beautiful and special experience. He showed us constellations in the night sky, then brought us to the waters where he explained the science behind the bioluminescent plankton. He brought us snorkeling gear and something that helped us to see the plankton in the most beautiful way. I 10/10, 100%, recommend this tour!! Life changing.

This experience was beyond and above my expectations! Professional staff communicated timely all of our needs. Alejandro Flores was an awesome guide, knowledgeable not only in bioluminescence experience but in astronomy, as well. He speaks several languages and has answers to every question. We really enjoyed this unique experience. Recommend this company to everyone who’s curious about nature’s wonders!

Alex was wonderful. He contacted us ahead of time to get shoe and suit size then dropped the gear off at the agreed upon time. He picked us up right on time then showed us a wonderful evening. He explained the bioluminescence and pointed out the stars. He entertained everyone in our group, which spoke English, Spanish and French. We each received personal attention and felt like his favorite customer. He took pictures of each group and texted them to us. While taking us back to our room we set up a time for him to pick up his gear the following morning. He was right on time and even offered us a ride into town, offering suggestions of where we could get a good brunch. Alex is a super guy and you will not be sorry if you book with him.

A unique one of a kind experience. Our guide sent instructions through whatsapp several days in advance, they were very helpful and answered very quickly to all of our questions. The guide and their team spoke english very well. The trip was time was set by guide, because it was dependent on the moon phase. We are very satisfied with the experience. Bioluminisence was astonishing, even those who were scared of the water went in. The guide talked about stars, planets and constellations. And also talked about bioluminisence in detail. We couldn't take the photos but this was not an issue for us, you just have to enjoy the moment.

First, we got picked up by Alex in his open off-road car, together with the other tourists that joined us. This ride was very fun, in the dark driving the rough roads of Holbox. When we arrived and walked to the beach, Alex told us some things he knew about the constellations that we could see from there, and he pointed these out to us. I was really interested in hearing about that too. Then there was the "main" part, going into the water and seeing the bioluminescent plankton, and how these react to movement. It doesn't exactly look like the photo's that Google shows, but it's very magical to see nonetheless. We enjoyed a lot, and are very happy that we decided to join this experience. Also, afterwards Alex helped us out with some personal stuff, which was great. Thanks again for the great experience!

My partner and I really enjoyed this experience. Alejandro was very friendly and informative. We also enjoyed hearing about the stars/planets before we went into the water.
I would highly recommend bringing mosquito repellent as we were bitten quite badly on our necks and faces!
I think we were expecting something a bit more mesmerising when it comes to actually seeing the bioluminescence.. but it was for sure a unique experience and we enjoyed it none the less.

We absolutely loved every second of this tour!!! We started out watching the moon set, and once the sky was truly dark, our guide led us on a tour of the visible constellations. After that we were led to the quiet lagoon where we experienced the beautiful bioluminescence on the island. The guide even provided a tightly knit piece of fabric to help the plankton stand out individually, and it was truly magical. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and I would absolutely recommend this excellent tour to all other travelers!!

Yes, April to November are best time to go. Check for full moon, the darker the better, so no full moon. Also go when there's no clouds, the more stars you will see
