We had a wonderful private tour with our English-Speaking guide, Eddie. He gave us amazing background information and facts about each of the stops. In addition, he navigated us through the stops in a way that allowed us to miss the majority of the overcrowded spots! Would highly recommend.

My husband and I visited Holbox for the first time in October 2023. We booked the Three Island Private Tour through VIP Holbox Experience and were really impressed with the service and the tour. We were kept constantly informed as to updates as weather was a bit of an issue on our originally scheduled tour date. VIP Holbox Experience was super responsive and flexible about rescheduling to fit into our existing plans. The tour itself was wonderful! Our guide, Gustavo, and our boat captain, Eddie, were both personable, knowledgeable and offered great insights as well as friendly companionship throughout the tour. Gustavo took as many photos as I did! He was obviously enthralled by the beauty of the sites and his enthusiasm was certainly contagious. We were made to feel comfortable and encouraged to share our thoughts and what we'd like to see (flamingos!). They went out of their way to ensure I got to see those flamingos in the wild. It was amazing. I would highly recommend this tour, and these two wonderful guides. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Eddie took us for a whale shark tour. We lucked out and got to swim with whale sharks and manta rays. Eddie was great at guiding everyone in the water and we appreciated aspects of the tour to make it more sustainable such as two people in the water at a time to reduce disturbance of the whale shark. Gustavo took us for night kayak and star gazing. Laser pointer was great and we saw all the summer constellations really clearly. All the equipment was provided to make the most of the bioluminescence.

It was a day i will never forget. We started with a really nice early breakfast before heading Out with the boat. Our guide was very nice and experienced and told us a lot of interesting things about the animals. We had a fast boat and were one of the first ones to find the whale sharks, also sooner than i expected. There were so many of them and everybody got two turns to swim with them, it was amazing, they were so beautiful and impressive. Afterwards we went snorkelling, saw beautiful fish, corals and sting rays. Then we went to a nice and lonely beach and had delicious fresh ceviche on the boat before heading back. Thank you again, i will always carry this memory in my heart.

The captains of our trip was super communicative and easy to find day of. They were incredibly nice and knowledgable about the tour and the island of Holbox. We had six people on our tour and it was the perfect amount of space, I wouldn't recommend more people as the boat is cozy. Our favorite stop was the first stop, where we all swam in the cold springs!

I took all three tours with VIP Holbox with my 9 year old son and I can’t recommend them enough. Out guides Willy and Gustavo were excellent. Highly recommended

Bioluminescence here is unbelievable ! We had a storm roll through on our original reservation but VIP Holbox helped us move our reservation to our last night on Holbox . So glad we didn’t miss out ! Because you need to wait for the moon to set for complete darkness it was a late start . We got picked up at our hotel at 11:00 PM to go to where we would launch the kayaks . Soon as our feet touched the water we were amazed ! Short paddle to a sandbar where we got to experience this phenomenon for about an hour . Nothing short of amazing and nothing like I had imagined! Every movement caused intense blue light in the water ! Even the fish swimming near by caused a glow ! 3rd tour with VIP Holbox and I wouldn’t even try another company as the communication to us before and after were 110% !

VIP Holbox recommended getting an early start at 7:00 AM so we could avoid too many people at the stops along the way . Was great advice as we had all three stops almost to ourselves. We were lucky to see flamingoes, frigates and many other water birds with just our guide at the bird Island observation tower before moving on to the fresh water cenote where we were the only swimmers ! Water was so refreshing ! Final stop was at a small island with lots of iguanas and small fish and a beautiful sand bar to wade along ! Our guide was Willy who we also had on our private whale shark tour a few days before . Seas were calm and we were back early enough to enjoy the rest of the day relaxing on the beach . Great start to our day !

This is the first time I am posting a comment on Tripadvisor but I truly felt that I had to do it this time so that other people could benefit from the terribly bad experience we had. The whale shark trip we booked with V.I.P Holbox Experience was supposed to be the best activity of our family trip in Yucatan. It unfortunately turned out to be only (by far!) the most expensive and disappointing one. We spent 1500 USD (26950 pesos) and nine hours at sea to view one small shark from the boat at a distance of 40 m during 20 seconds, with 50+ other vessels around. Very far away from our expectations (and what was advertised by V.I.P Holbox Experience), e.g., 2X2min per person snorkeling 2 meter away from these peaceful giants... On the way back, we spotted ourselves some dolphins and had to beg our crew (Willy and Ali) to go closer to them and hence have something concrete to show to our kids after such a long boat trip... If this wasn't disappointing enough, we met at the harbor several ecotourists gone with other companies who had the chance to swim with 5+ sharks in a nearby spot on the same day, an information that was communicated to but deliberately ignored by our crew, probably to save on time/fuel. When complaining to the company about that, they said that (1) after thoughtful research, the group of 4 sharks was in fact the same shark saw 4 times in row (incredible response and bad luck we saw the videos from that day where different animals can easily be recognized) and (2) that this was the first day in history where no company had the chance to swim with whale sharks (which is not true since we saw ourselves people doing snorkeling with the whale shark we saw from the boat). We then asked for a partial refund given how exceptionally bad the day was (something that was spontaneously provided by other companies) and they never responded to us... In short, V.I.P Holbox Experience clearly appear to be a company more interested in making profit rather than in providing a great experience to their customers. To avoid absolutely.

We booked this tour as part of our family trip to Holbox. Two adults and two older teenagers, and all really enjoyed it. Our son especially enjoyed the fishing and ceviche, oyr daughter especially loved the snorkeling and photos, dad especially loved the boat ride, and mom loved it all. Our guide Eric spoke good English and taught us so much about local culture and the island; our captain did speak speak much English, but both were excellent regardless. I definitely recommend!

Erick and our captain on La Graza were super tour guides. Erik was really knowledgable and chatty, with excellent English and local knowledge. Booking was super easy with Sylvia in person, and follow-up with WhatsApp. Your was an excellent early morning taste of the nature scape around Holbox. We started a 7am to get out before the crowds. Full throttle across the glassy calm sea to Cenote Yalahau. First visitors of the day to the crystal clear waters well up from deep underground, so a private swim and our breakfast at the top of the watch tower. Then off to Isla Pasión with a flock of flamingos flying along side us. Beautiful clear waters; with needlefish and cormorants, frigates, pelicans and plovers. Finished up at Punta Mosquito with 2 Sea Ospreys. Thanks guys.
