About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Samir O0 contributionsGreat option if you’re staying in Ella! The safari was great! The transfer to and from Ella was seemless. Coordinator was very responsive via whatsapp. We got to see a leopard, elephants, buffalos, crocodiles, etc… the jeep driver knew very well where to go and made sure we did not miss that elusive Leopard when the chance presented itself! :)Written October 1, 2024
- 751indial0 contributionsWonderful experience, arranged with ease and good communicationAmazing trip, I highly recommend Lakpura and Raveesha for all your Sri Lankan needs! It was amazing to be so close to the elephants. All the organisation was so smooth and a cake was even arranged for my brother. BIG RECOMMEND!Written September 25, 2024
- timkH2910WU0 contributionsComfortabele safari with so many elephantsAwesome elephant safari! Our driver was super kind and besides the elephants that were easy to find he pointed out numerous animals in the trees such as a crocodile, specials bird and monkeys. Also the jeep was the most comfortable jeep we have ever road in. Tip! Our driver contacted us the day before to suggest we move the time and location to be able to see more elephants. We highly recommend you follow up on his expertise and experience. We saw around 75 elephants that day!Written September 22, 2024
- 359eveg0 contributionsGreat driver and great experience!Fantastic safari with our driver Asela! We saw so many animals - loads of elephants, some foxes, eagles, water buffalo and lots of other birds. The scenery is beautiful. Asela has great English and was very knowledgeable about the elephants and could answer all of our questions. Would definitely recommend!Written September 14, 2024
- J4325MSdanielh0 contributionsGreat safari!Asela was a brilliant guide - he took care of us and everything for the day! We must have seen 80+ elephants and plenty other animals during the safari.Written September 9, 2024
- ShariWestSussex0 contributionsGo early and avoid holy daysBuddha’s tooth was apparently snatched from his funeral pyre and smuggled in to Sri Lanka by a princess and here it is kept in a casket and is considered very holy. People come to make offerings and hope their prayers are answered. Beautiful flowers are sold at many stalls outside. One must not take photos of anyone in front of the buddhas. There is a memorial to a faithful elephant and people can light incense sticks for loved ones. Most people wear white. All must show respect by covering legs and shoulders. Shoes are not worn in the whole complex. 200 rupees to have them looked after. Go early and avoid holy days.Written September 7, 2024
- 44Vanessa0 contributionsGreat serviceHaving read other travellers’ experiences of not being able to secure train tickets we didn’t want to take any chances so book them in advance. The tickets came through via email and the agent was great and made regular contact via WhatsApp - even to check we were safely on the train. The train ride was great (only 1.5 hours late which we understand is quite good!) We booked first class seats as thought we would need the air conditioning but as it’s much cooler due to the altitude 2nd class would have bern equally good with the added benefit of being able to open the windows to take photos. However we could move around the train and were able to take plenty of photos of the magnificent views.Written September 1, 2024
- Matteo B0 contributionsGreat experienceGreat experience and great driver. We saw a lot of elephants, and the driver that took us around explained us lots of interesting things around all the wildlife we saw. Highly recommendedWritten September 1, 2024
- X3569SPgabrield0 contributionsJust need a driver for this Tour. You don’t really a tour guide for this booking. Just a driver if you’re coming from Kandy. The view is amazing and not that far. Get a Tuk Tuk motor cart to reach the top.Written August 29, 2024
- Lauri S0 contributionsNegombo to Dambulla transferSmooth well arranged transfer from Negombo to Dambulla with a talented driver and a modern car with air conditioning and comfortable seats. Recommended.Written August 29, 2024
- melaniemT7789KR0 contributionsGreat Safari Experience in Minneriya National Park!We had a wonderful time exploring Minneriya National Park with our driver, Asela. The guided tour was excellent, and we were lucky to see a lot of elephants. They were close by and Asela stopped at the right spots so we could watch them very good. We also saw monkeys, a deer and eagles during our visit. Asela was a knowledgeable and courteous guide who shared interesting insights about the park and its wildlife. The jeep we used for the safari was comfortable and allowed us to stand in the back for a better view, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We also appreciated the small touches, like having water available during the tour. Overall, we were very satisfied with the experience and would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Sri Lanka.Written August 29, 2024

- cathryneriley0 contributionsFantastic SeatsOur five star hotel in Kandy let me know about the Perahera and was offering tickets but never responded to be when I asked to buy some. I then turned to Lakpura LLC. Mewan immediately responded and subsequent communication with his staff was excellent. We ended up with fantastic front row seats in the Queen’s Hotel Corridor. Not only did we get the best views for photos but the seating was also converted which came in handy as it was sometimes drizzling. We also had access to a toilet as the ceremony was long. Sure we paid a lot but it was worth it for such good seats to one of Buddhism’s holiest and most colourful festivals. Pro tip: bring water and snacks. Thanks very much Lakpura.Written August 27, 2024
- alicewK9221LH0 contributionsHighly recommend this trip!Highly recommend this trip, we had a private safari in a very comfortable jeep. Our guide was informative and patient, and drove sensibly and considerately of the elephants. We saw so many elephants and had plenty of time to take photos, videos and just sit and watch them. We were able to get really close without intruding on their space. Was an amazing experience and a highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka.Written August 23, 2024
- Macaw_120 contributionsExcellent birdwatching experience!I was surprised having such a great birdwatching experience just outside of Colombo. Really good wetland with many birds. And Chinthaka is a guide with deep knowledge, which is not easy to find in Sri Lanka!Written August 19, 2024

The train is beautiful, clean and has different classes. If you go jn a not hot time, I recommend you book 2nd Class reserved seats instead of 1st Class. This is because, in 2nd Class, you can open the windows and peep outside the train. Also important is that all doors are open in 2nd class and you can hag outside while train is moving(fun). In 1st Class only two doors are open and windows do not open because of the aircon.
