We met our guide, Suzanne, at Base camp adventures in Queenstown. We then drove up in a mini van to the Remarkables Base. After clipping on our snow shoes, we walked up a section of the piste and the went off piste on fresh snow that fell overnight. The hike included a picnic with some refreshments provided. Suzanne was a very knowledgeable guide and we would definitely recommend this experience!

We did a course for outdoor rock climbing and it was amazing! Our guide was very patient and explained everything step by step, it is the perfect course to start outdoor rock climbing and I would recommend everybody who wants to get into rock climbing to go basecamp wanaka !

I did some rock climbing around Wanaka with basecamp adventures. The organization was flawless, the instructor was very kind and professionnal, and I had the opportunity to do real progress

Loz took my 9 year old out for a half day climbing trip. He was very friendly, full of encouragement and it was clear safety was his number one priority. My son learnt a few things as well which he will take back to his next climbing trip.Thanks Loz and we look forward to coming back to maybe tackle some hard climbs n the near future.

We went with our guide Emily to a rock area which was closeby.Due to the fact that we didn’t have to walk far from our car to the rocks, we spent almost all the time with climbing.Thank you, Emily, for your good hints in order to improve our climbing skills!

My kids ages 11+13 yrs hadn't ever done outdoor rock climbing so we took the opportunity of some good weather to book a morning beginner rock climbing with Basecamp Adventures. We all had a fantastic morning. Loz, our guide was very knowledgeable and encouraging but also understood that my son wasn't keen to go too high and didn't push him beyond what he was comfortable with. . This is suitable for anyone who wants to give outdoor rock climbing a go and we highly recommend it!

We had a fantastic outdoor climbing session with Emily from Wanaka Base camp Rock Adventures. Really beautiful location on the cliffs a short distance out of Wanaka town. Emily was super friendly, chatty and helpful and gave both my wife and I some great advice to improve our climbing technique

Great walk great leader and amazing scenery. Transport to the start of walk was efficient and equipment supplied very good. Even though I was a solo booking the trip went ahead. Good communication on booking and also I was picked up from my accommodation and taken back there. The guide even managed to provide a hot drink halfway through.

I have joined the tour expecting it would be a group tour, turns out I was the only one joined so it has become a private tour for me haha...we started out at 9am and drove to hospital flat to climb. Frankie was really friendly and very knowledgeable about climbing and the area, since I was the only one in the tour, I got all the attention and also means that I'm the only one climbing most of the time and I got tired fast, so we headed back to the gym and continue with some indoor climbing. When we were on the way back, Frankie was kind enough to drive me around town to have a look at the town. All and all, it was an amazing day. I highly recommend it.

We enjoyed our snoeshoeing, it was beautiful being up in such a prisitne, winter wonderland. It was very peaceful crunching through the snow and a cool, unique experience for us.

This was a first time for me and I really loved it. Loz was really helpful and motivating when I believed I was stuck. My husband and I had a really great time. I recommend you to try!

I've rock climbed indoor a handful of times when I decided I wanted to try climbing outside in New Zealand. I was a little terrified when I started but quickly got over that thanks to really great instruction. It was supportive and encouraging. Overall this was one of the my favorite things that I did on my 2 week trip.

Over the course of three days, we rock climbed outside and had such fun. Loz and Ian instructed us extremely well and we learned lead climbing and top roping. The joking and banter between everyone was amazing. We all felt very comfortable, almost as friends with Loz and Ian. I loved it so much and then we were blessed even more by being allowed to do indoor rock climbing as well. So amazing and I will continue to rock climb in the future.

I had an incredible time at Basecamp Rock Adventures. Loz is very personable and you can tell that he knows exactly what he's doing. I always felt safe and had a smile on my face. I would recommend to anybody that is visiting Wanaka

Thanks to Emily and Loz I had my first, proper outdoor climbing experience. With a slight fear of heights, this was quite challenging for me but with the encouragement from Emily, I managed to literally, get to new heights. I felt very safe and comfortable heading out and climbing with Basecamp and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
