Exhilarating Experience, Beyond Expectations
Beyond Expectations! A most exhilarating experience from the time of boarding the water taxi with thorough commentary given by our able well versed captain Crystal… to the disembark on Mou Waho and the wonders of the shirt manageable hike to the lake atop the island within Lake Wanaka. A photographers delight at every angle, plenty of time to have a swim in the lake kept Company by the native weka. An absolute “ must do “ experience 👍🏻

Awesome experience

This was an awesome experience !
From Wanaka township it is not possible to appreciate the full scale of Lake Wanaka and this cruise opens up vistas, not possible from the shore.
Mou Whao is a predator free island with very endangered Buff Weka and Mountain Weta living safely here along with a variety of native birds and plants.
A good path leads up to a beautiful glacial tarn. There are spectacular views from the rocky bluff above this.
Tim was an excellent guide and we never felt rushed but allowed time to appreciate this special environment.
The catamaran was very comfortable and we were well plied with hot drinks and cookies!

Amazing Half day experience

Our family was lucky enough to do this cruise while we were in Wanaka. From the start Tim made us all feel at home while sharing his knowledge of the area. The boat Dual Image was beautiful and the time out on the lake a really surreal. The walk upon Mou Waho Island was easy for the whole family and seeing a lake upon a lake with snow capped mountains in the background is something that you have to experience yourselves – you wont be disappointed.

Weka's gone wild

Relaxing trip on boat, with great views, to the island. We were greeted by a weka when we got off and then did a short hike up to the top with great views of lake and area. And more wekas. We didn't see many other birds....one bell bird and one other, a fantail, we think. But all in all a fun trip and worth doing.

Truly Amazing
We could not have asked for better, 5 hours later and we are still buzzing.
It was so relaxed, Jim and his offsider were brilliant. (I am so sorry I missed your name) You both were very knowledgeable of the history and area.
It really was perfect, from the picturesque snow capped mountains to the stillness of the lake. Once we reached the island, there was a picture perfect photo opportunity with every turn. Hearing the native birds and just taking in the environment was amazing. Thank you guys so much for offering this cruise, we would highly recommend this to anyone.

Fantastic Trip aboard Dual Image

We took this trip on Oct 3rd. We're a family of four and regularly head to Wanaka. We had never been out on the lake. We took the trip with Tim and Pav and had a fantastic time. Dual Image is an immaculate boat. The lake was a little rough, though with Tim behind the wheel all is made easy. He knows his stuff, has plenty of knowledge about the lake and surrounding areas. Pav is a delight to be with. She knows everything about the island and gives you plenty of time and info to get the most out of it. We met Bush Weka's saw ana amazing lake and would definitely recommend the trip.

Highly recommended. Best half day out I've had for a long time. Our guide, Chris, was great. Made us feel very valued and gave us a very informative tour stopping for a breather when required. Superb views from the top whilst drinking a flat white with a Cookie Time Cookie. Another highlight was two Weka paying us very close attention. Also too plenty of bird song along the way.

Great family trip

Excellent cruise, spectacular views, great walk and even better company. We had skilled captain Adam and his knowledgable teammate Pavla, who provided us with all info about the island and its flora and fauna on guided walk. The crew taking time to come and chat with everyone and take photos. The Captain answered every question i had, while Pavla looked after my family with hot drinks.
Would highly recommend Mou Waho. Worth every penny
