Had the most incredible time! Nicest guide ever and very knowledgeable! We learned so much from him. The two vineyards we visited were beautiful and had great wine!

We had a fabulous time and highly recommend this tour. Emily was a wonderful host and made the day so much fun. Would have been good if driver could wear a microphone so that we could hear all the great details she was sharing about the area.

The highlight of our trip to New Zealand! Amazing experience biking from Lake Hāwea to Roys Bay in Lake Wānaka, followed by an excellent lunch and wine tasting with Scott at three local vineyards. Scott picked us up in the morning right outside our accommodation in Wānaka, and to our surprise we were the first and only two people on the tour that day! As we drove to our starting point at Lake Hāwea, Scott educated us on the history and recent developments in the area, while also pointing out some of the highlights we would see on our bike ride. He provided very clear directions for our route, and ensured we were safe and comfortable on the bikes before we set off. The ride was absolutely stunning, taking us from the tracks along Lake Hāwea, connecting us to the Hāwea River Track, Clutha River, and eventually riding from all the way around to Roys Bay. We had about 4 hours to complete the ride and connect with Scott back in Wānaka, which was more than enough time to capture dozens (if not hundreds!) of photos along the way, and even stop for a coffee! The e-bikes themselves were comfortable and easy to use, I have a bad knee and the support provided by the e-bike allowed me to take on the terrain without any pain during or after the ride. If you are new or not too confident in biking off-road, don't be deterred as the e-bike truly does all the hard work for you! After meeting back up with Scott, the wine tour began with an excellent lunch and wine pairing at the Stoker Room. My fiancé and I know very little about wine, and Scott proved to be a wealth of knowledge, answering every serious and silly question while providing tremendous insight into why the Otaga region was so perfect for wine. Since it was just us three, the afternoon quickly began to feel less like a formal tour, and more like a visit with an old friend who just happened to be a wine connoisseur! Aitkin's Folly was our favorite stop on the tour, as the owners and their two dogs were right with you as you sipped and chatted. The care and preparation Scott put in to crafting this unique experience made this a day we will never forget. I highly recommend this particular tour for anyone seeking a breathtaking outdoor biking experience, followed by a delicious meal and intimate wine tour with an excellent person and professional.

We had a fantastic time with Wanaka Wine Tours on our recent trip to the South Island. We sampled 16 different wines which was a great way to get an impression of the area's offerings. We also had a delicious lunch in the Stoaker Room which provided perfect wine pairings with their food. Our guide Ian was very friendly and acted as a great guide with interesting facts for the duration of our time.

Every aspect of this tour was fantastic. Our tour guide Wayne was super knowledgeable and told us so much about the local area and the wineries. The food platter from The Stoaker Room paired with a selection from Wild Earth Wines was amazing (definitely don't eat beforehand though!). The trip to Aitken's Folly was lovely, and Ian was so friendly and chatty the whole time. Nanny Goat was also beautiful, and being able to select which wines to sample meant it would suit any taste. Overall, this is absolutely worth doing if you have the time in Wanaka - every part of the experience was exceptional!

This is a great full day tour. We got to taste a great selection of wines from Otargo. Our guide Ian was full of knowledge about the region and its history. The lunch at the Stoaker Room was fantastic with a great food and wine match.

While I'm not a wine person, my husband and I decided to give this tour a try and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The three different wine tasting experiences brought both different tastes and a different ambiance. The food served with the 5 wine pairing was amazing; the second location provided a very laid back/easy experience and the third a more formal but comfortable tasting.

visited four vineyards in an afternoon. Nice lunch included. Some excellent wines, a couple were a little average. Driver did a great job of getting us there and to the different locations on time. We had an excellent small group from around the world, which made for interesting conversations.

We had such a good time on this wine tour. Robin took the tour and drove us to four local boutique wineries, all different and all well set up for groups like ours. We were a group of seven, a real mix of nationalities and ages, and we all got on well and had a great laugh along the way. We tasted five wines in each place, mainly pinot noir, sauvignon blanc, pinot gris, rosé, riesling, chardonnay, and a very special ginger wine. A good range of different styles, with some common characteristics of the region. The fruitiness was the main feature I found in most of the wines we tried. Quite different from Marlborough and other regions. It was lovely to see some more of the countryside and beautiful scenery outside Wanaka on the trip. It took about five hours and was well-paced. The platters of food at Allan Scott Winery were generous and delicious...and necessary! The winery staff were friendly and informative and each place very much had its own style. Robin is a great tour leader. We had fun with him and he made the whole trip feel relaxed and informal. I would highly recommend this trip to get out of town and try some delicious local wines at small local wineries. Five stars all round!

We were picked up by our guide Emily in Wanaka, and along with 2 other lovely couples we spent the next 5 hours visiting 4 vineyards-one at Wanaka and the others at nearby Cromwell. There was a very nice platter of cheese, dips, cured meats and so on, supplied at the second vineyard. You do find the wine styles on offer are pretty similar at each vineyard-pinot noir is the only red in the region, although there is more variety with the whites, and each winery has it's own take on the different grape varieties. It was a fun and very enjoyable afternoon-thanks to our guide and driver Emily for looking after us.

As a couple travelling around we were looking forward to having someone else drive... Emily, our driver, was great. Picked us up from our accommodation and took us to three lovely vineyards around Wanaka. Highlight was Aitken's Folly, a newish vineyard where the owner was happy to spend ages talking to us. Highly recommended trip!

Such a wonderful tour around the area. We weren’t sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised with the tour around the area and surrounding towns. The wines and cellar door staff were so friendly and knowledgeable with many tasty wines on offer. The meal and matching wines at The Stoaker Room was next level!! Definitely recommend. We also had the added bonus at the end of the trip of the fresh fruit icecream from Jackson Orchard. Heidi, our guide was so friendly, full of wonderful knowledge of the region and great stories of her life in the area. Such a wonderful day. Can’t recommend this tour enough. Thank you!!! Loved our tour with Wānaka wines. The locations and wine were terrific however, the stand out was out tour guide John!! Amazing knowledge, stories and atmosphere he created. Plus a 11/10 photographer, ask him about his panoramas :). He went above and beyond, dropping us into town via our accommodation to drop off our purchases. Hope he is pleased to know we stayed in touch with our tour friends.

The tour was a wonderful experience. We really enjoyed all the wineries and the food was so much more than we expected, we really enjoyed the wines matched to the food. John made our day with his knowledge of the area and slipping in some scenic visits. It was so much more than a wine tour. We loved it! Thank you to everyone but especially John.

it was relly best wine tour. The Rippon vineyard is exelant. Our guiade was perfect. But we saw 4 vineyards, and all of of them was nice. Wine we testing - specialy Pionot Noir everyone has to try..
