      Wonderful family adventure!
Fantastic trip! Worth the time and investment. My kids had never snorkeled, but the staff was great at showing everyone what to do. Loved the boat ride and snorkeling around Vieques. We saw sea turtles and nerf sharks! The snacks and drinks were a nice touch. Considered trying to ferry over to Culbera or Viques, and make our own adventure, but I couldn't replicate what Pure Adventure is doing.

Great family trip! We loved it!
Luis and Freddy showed us a great time! My grumpy teenagers had no complaints and one even said it was his favorite thing he has ever done. We saw a manatee at the pier, sea turtles, an octopus, lots of tropical fish and a stingray! Freddy was very patient with the kids and made sure the less confident swimmers on our tour felt safe with flotation devices and comfortable with their snorkels. My family are all strong swimmers and we got to explore to our hearts content. We also enjoyed looking for coral and coconuts on the beach on Vieques. The trip was a perfect length. Would definitely do again!

      Snorkel fun
Fun trip. Just enough time. We saw turtles and sting rays. Only thing better would have been a Katamaran instead of the boat. Overall a great time.

Great for kids learning to snorkel
Tour was well organized and great for anyone learning to snorkel. First stop was a sandy beach where you could practice with your snorkel and explore the beach. We then went to a deeper snorkeling spot and saw sea turtles, sting rays, conch and a lot of fish. By the time we went to the second spot, my kids were very comfortable snorkeling and had a great time. The guides also joined us on the second snorkel to lead us and point out various sea creatures. This was awesome as I have been on many snorkeling trips where the passengers are sent alone into the water with limited guidance. We saw a lot more with the guided snorkeling tour. Highly recommend for families.

      Snorkeling Adventure
My family and I had a fantastic day of snorkeling with Pure Adventure. We had to modify our initial trip due to weather patterns and sea currents for boat safety, and Pure Adventures was very up front and timely on letting us know about this. They modified the trip to a shorter one along with a rebate for the shorter excursion, a testament to their business ethics and purpose to their customers. Even with the shorter trip, my family and I still had a glorious time. We had a very kind and knowledgeable captain, Juan, and a stellar crew of 2 who were very patient with the tour patrons including our five year old. The boat ride out to Vieques was smooth and relaxing, the ocean breeze and water from the boat comforting in the warm weather. Our beach area for exploring was serene along the crystalline waters of the Caribbean, and the snorkeling spot was second to none. We were able to experience sea turtles, a giant manta ray, and a plethora of fish/crabs that we have never been able to witness in our previous snorkeling adventures. This was a spectacular excursion while visiting Puerto Rico and will be talked about for years to come in my family.

      Very happy with this choice!
We went out on a Monday, and the boat was not crowded at all. The captain and Victor were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. There was music, food and beverages (both alcohol and non) but there was no party hype, no constant reminders to tip, just a really relaxing, safe and fun day on the water for the families and couples on board.

      You should book this
We had an amazing time on our snorkel trip. The staff was amazing and super helpful, making sure to point out different things in the water to help make sure everyone had an amazing experience. We saw a lot of turtles, a stingray, and a wide array of tropical fish.I got a ton of good memorable footage on my gopro. It didn't hurt that they had an open bar on the way back. I look forward to booking this again next year

Great experience with a professional crew
My daughter and 3 friends came to visit us at Puerto Rico during their spring break. The 3 friends never visited PR and had a great stay, which included the snorkeling tour with Pure Adventure. They really enjoyed how well organized is the tour, first practice for beginners and then go and see the marine life. One of the girls did not swim well and that was no problem since the crew provided a floating device. They saw turtles and even an octopus. The crew includes a marine biologist very knowleageble who explained what they were seeing. Totally recommend to everyone, including beginners and non-swimmers.

Pure Adventure runs a tight ship! This excursion is for you!! We even had a marine biologist with us!
Book this excursion now! Absolutely magical! Luiz, Victor and Freddie provided excellence from start to finish! They are knowledgeable, caring, thorough and educational. The equipment is excellent and the crew is focused on sanitary measures. We saw so many green sea turtles, one even swam right up to my mask! We also saw sting ray, barracuda, puffer fish and so many varieties of beautiful fish. My family had the best time, thank you for the wonderful memories Luiz, Victor, Freddie & Pure Adventures!

      Awesome trip to Culebra
The captain, Nelson, and his crew were awesome, so friendy and knowledgeable. The tour included two stops--a private beach and an awesome underwater wall which had amazing snorkeling. Food was better than expected. The trip to Culebra was over an hour and very bumpy so being Dramamine if you're prone to seasickness.

      I want to go back!
We thoroughly enjoyed the half day snorkeling trip to Vieques. Our guides Victor and Freddy and Captain Luis were knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and safety conscious. The water was crystal clear and saw rays, sea turtles, an octopus, and much more. Snacks and drinks provided during the tour were plentiful. This tour was a top highlight of our trip to PR. I would definitely return , only for a full day next time!

A must do in Puerto Rico
This kayaking tour was outstanding! Natalia, Javier, Enrique, Amaury and Catalina went out of their way to make sure everyone had an amazing time!! From the time of arrival to our departure everything was well organized. Safety was exercised through out the entire so bringing children over the age of 6 is not a problem! I highly recommend the 6 pm tour-the sunset in the big lagoon was the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen! You must witness this bioluminescence langoon. Highly recommended!!

Incredible Day with Juan from Pure Adventure
Our family of 4 had a great time on our Private Snorkel and Cruise Experience. Everyone at Pure Adventure is very professional and friendly. The day before our vacation, the company that I had book a trip to Vieques with, called to let me know they had to cancel the trip. They said they didn't have enough people and they only went to Vieques once the previous week. They were nice and I appreciated them calling me to cancel, and they suggested Pure Adventure. Great recommendation! On very short notice, I called and spoke with Yolanda who helped me decide which trip would be best for my family. I booked it immediately and Yolanda was right! Thank you! Juan was our Captain and he was fantastic. He was knowledgeable and friendly, and we felt very safe with Juan. Thank you to everyone at Pure Adventure for creating memories that my family will talk about for years to come. Sincerely, Gary

Wonderful job by this crew. Javier, Sandra, and the rest of the Pure Adventure team did a great job coordinating a group of about 15 clients, with all kayak experience levels, across a small bay and into the slough that leads to and from the bio bay. They were attentive and friendly, helpful and informative, about how to effectively navigate and use the kayaks.

The illumination in the water was visible, and the stars were out. Javier did a great job informing us about what we viewing, and how special it was. They even went out of their way to sing happy birthday to my wife who chose this attraction to celebrate her 30 birthday! She was over the moon with the surprise.

Amazing company, and crew. Highly recommended, would certainly return.

**side note, we also went to vieques with jaun and freddy for a snorkel and beach swim with the same company. Also a 5 star recommendation**

Natalia and her crew did a great job getting everyone kitted out, provided plenty of commentary to explain what we were seeing, and made sure the group stayed together. This was a very cool way to end our trip and well worth the money. My only complaint is that on the return I got stuck at the end of the group and was surrounded by people who were really bad kayakers; this forced the guide at the back to repeatedly switch on his search light to get them sorted out. That in turn killed our night vision during the section from the lagoon back into the canal where you get to see more of the bioluminesence. To be clear - our guides had no other choice and were working to keep people safe - I just wish I had positioned myself better in the group so that I could have seen more. Maybe next time....

I went on the 6:00pm tour and it was the best one ! You got to see all the trees and Iguanas in the canal. I highly recommend the 6pm tour you get to see a lot more things that the 8:00pm(you go in without any light and come out the same).

Our tour guides were Amauy, Anthony,Javier,Natalia. Catalina the hostess was very nice she let us leave our stuff with her(btw make sure you have transportation to take you back,it’s hard to find uber from Fajardo to old San Juan)

At the begging we had a hard time Kayacking we were forget our rights from left 🤣😅 but Natalia was so patience with us and just coached us through until we finally got it. I was very impressed with the patience and interest she shows to her clients. She is awesome . She was telling us how she loves to eat and recommended us a bunch of places to eat and actually wrote them down for us.

We loved pure adventure and we hope we could comeback and book again with them!

Hello j.o.p. I loved your feedback! You made me laugh when you said that Natalia loves to eat, ‘cause is so true ;)) I love the earlier tour as well, so much to see. The later one is great as well, I’d say more adventurous with all the darkness in the canal, spooky ;)) You mentioned a very important detail, transportation. Uber are not easy to find in this area, especially at night. We strongly suggest arranging transportation prior coking to the tour. There are different options: take our roundtrip transportation, a rental car, or a taxi or uber but make sure they’ll wait for you. Thank you so much for coming! We were a group of six adults ranging from experienced to novice paddlers. The wind was whipping when we arrived at the put in spot and we were concerned, but the guides were reassuring and off we went. They were right: we got thru the windy area and were comfortable paddling first in dimming light and then total darkness. We credit Sandra, Javier, Catalina and Anthony with our great experience. Sandra pointed out all sorts of wildlife we wouldn't have seen on our own as we travelled through the mangroves and explained what we were experiencing once we arrived in the lagoon. The bioluminesence doesn't really look like what the pictures show, and that should be better explained in ads so as to not lead to too high expectations. Overall great time.

Hello Jane, Thank you very much for your review. We are very happy that the guides made you feel safe at all times and that the experience was excellent! This reserve is packed with wildlife so during the sunset tours you are able to enjoy it, which is a plus ;) Our promo pictures actually represent the real thing. Still, the bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon. For that reason, we have already taken the step to explain in our webpage and in the confirmation notes that variations in the intensity of the glow could happen any day without previous notice. Nevertheless, the Bio Bay tour is one of the very few adventures that can be done at night ;) Thank you so much for visiting us. Cordially, Yolanda Ramos PURE ADVENTURE

Sandra, Emanuel, Amaury and the rest of the team, YOU ARE AWESOME!!! I have done this tour before, with a different company, and was not. By any means the experience I had with you all. This time it was the 1st for my husband and daughter and we had a blast! My inlaws came with us, and got all the attentions and support needed to make this a succesful and fun experience. My daughter Stella listened to all the scientific explanations with such interest. She was scared aboit being in open sea but you were so reassuring and supportive. When she got tired you noticed I was by myself carrying her weight, so Emanuel helped me row. My inlaws fell into water and their kayak turned, and Emanuel and Amaury were in the water with them helping them out in less than 10 seconds! Such an amazing crew! My comparison with other companies:
    1. Better and more stable kayaks
    2. Better service
    3. More attention
    4. Larger crew
    5. Like 3 extrq dollars per person, worth every penny and more, eve if it was 5+ per person.
Again, you guys made our night, and it was the perfect highlight of our vacation back home from Texas!

Son un orgullo de Puerto Rico por su servicio y profesionalismo! Bendecidos todos, que Dios los proteja en el trabajo que hacen!

First of all five stars to the crew. Our leader Sandra was knowledgeable and personable and went out of her way to be engaging and respond to questions. Javier and Natalia were also great. Loved seeing the jellyfish that lifht up that they went and found for us. We enjoyed kayaking in the bay and through the mangrove. The equipment was also great.

I was, however, disappointed with the luminescent part of the trip. This is what we wanted to see and we barely had any time to interact. We kayaked in and then had some free time to paddle in the bay but it wasn’t yet dark. Once it got dark we had to tie up together and all the boats were bunched together. Sandra gave a wonderful explanation and then we were told to put our hands in and see the luminescent but the boats were so close together it was impossible without having my arm squished by the boat next to me. And then we were put under a tarp and it was easier to see but still no space because the boats are close together and the kid next to me was splashing all over the place. The tarp was over us for a few minutes. Then they finally released us from the other boats and I thought we would have some time to paddle around and play with the water but we were directed to go straight to the exit from the bay. Although the other aspects of the tour were nice my main purpose was to explore the bio-luminescent waters and that simply didn’t happen. That part of the tour is one star, only the great staff made up for it.
If you are considering this tour, book one that starts after dark unless you just like to kayak.

Hello Treena D, Thank you for providing your feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with our team. Unfortunately, we have no control over the brightness of the bioluminescence. Therefore, we work hard to enhance the experience for our guests. The tarp is used to keep out the light pollution from the surrounding areas of the lagoon. Sadly, light pollution is an issue that, as a company with a commitment to protect our natural resources, we have voiced to those in charge. We can assure you that we will not stop. Additionally, we adjust the times of our tours throughout the seasons to account for the changes in sunset time. As described in our website, the first tour, since it goes out while there is daylight, has more free time to paddle around the area before gathering to see the bioluminescence to give time for the night to fall. The second tour has free time after seeing the bioluminescence. Once again, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We hope to see you again in the future on any of our tours. This tour was wonderful. We started on the tour at 6pm after a short intro to kayaking. A couple bottle nose dolphins greeted us at the entrance as we entered the channel in a red mangrove forest. We saw iguanas, a crab, and birds. We entered into a bay to watch the sunset. After sunset, the plankton began to rise to the surface, at which point we tested the bioluminescent effect. We were a couple days prior to a full moon and couldn’t see much luminescence. Luckily our team leaders thought ahead and brought a tarp along that allowed us to shield out the moon. Such a great experience! If you have the opportunity to see the bioluminescence, this is the tour to do!

This was a major disappointment. My family of five went out in a Friday night. I was paired off with a stranger because the kayaks are for two people. The option to go solo was never offered. I did not see two of my kids the entire time. I paid $300 for a moonlit kayak trip with a stranger who didn’t say two words to me and seemed to think we were in a race, despite my telling her that I am here with my family (meaning, I’d like to see them here and there). Driving home from the experience my husband and three kids all said that the guides were annoyed with them. It is very difficult going against the current, but add to thy the fact that there are literally about 100 kayaks going in and out of the bay at any given time and it is chaos. I can’t count the number of times I was hit by a paddle. They take way too many people out at a time for it to be enjoyable and don’t give ‘real time’ guidance. The guides were nice and knowledgeable, but this experience was only worth maybe half of what we paid. We sat in the bay and learned about constellations for a while and then sat under a smelly tarp while looking at the bioluminescence in the water, which was cool, but not what I expected. Many people in our group were complaining that it was just too crowded to be enjoyable.

Dear HopeSo Too, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, I am very sad, and empathized with you and offer my apologies. I understand how you feel. I would like to clarify a few things. We like our guests to get prepared before coming to the tour, so we provide helpful information in our webpage and reservation system. There we specify that all the kayaks are tandem, for two guests. If we have spaces available on the tour we would gladly offer to go alone, but when all spaces are reserved every guest will go with a partner. One of the guides was towing your kids because they were having difficulties, so they were moving a little slower than the rest of the group, but remained with the guide at all times, and safe. During high season, just like in Disney, the place is crowded. For future travelers, we encourage to plan your visit during low season for a more relax experience. I hope that you might decide to visit us again in the future during low season. Kind regards, Yolanda Ramos PURE ADVENTURE

We had a great time. We went as a team of 3. Since the kayaks are for two people, my Dad and sister paired with each other, I was paired with a stranger. I did enjoy talking and getting to know the person I kayaked with and we found a rhythm. My Dad and sister having not kayaked in a very long time didn’t really get the hang of it and had to be saved by Javier(tour guide). Javier was very personable and talked with them and made them feel comfortable. The moon was out so it wasn’t really dark enough to see the bioluminescence. They provide you with a tarp to put over you and your partner on each kayak to make it dark enough to see the bioluminescence on the bay. Even with the moon being out it was still pretty dark so be careful you don’t hit into other kayakers and branches when you are traveling through the canal. Wear bug spray and shoes aren’t necessary but I wore flip flops.

A bio bay tour in Puerto Rico is a must do at least once in your lifetime. I've been blessed to have done it twice. Each time unique. As they explain the phytoplankton are more active sometimes than others. This is absolutely true, the first time we went we saw streaks of blue from fish and kayaks moving. This time it looked more like glitter in the water. Still an amazing experience. If you can plan it around moon cycles go when there is no moon!
