Tony was really awesome! He gave us lots of fun facts that are actually fun and he delivered them in a funny way. He had lots of great local stories too!
We did this tour on our second day and it felt like it was a great introduction to our Hawaii trip because we got to explore pretty much the entire Oahu island and got to know about Hawaiian culture. I suggest doing this early on in your trip as well!
I’m glad we did this because renting our own car would have been more expensive. All of the entrance fees (except for the Dole plantation maze and ride) and parking fees were already included in the trip. We also got free local malasadas and a bottle of water.
It’s great value for the money!

We booked this trip via our concierge at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. At $135 per person a little pricier than the various coupon booklet offers, but definitely worth it —it was a wonderful trip!
Our guide Tony was a fountain of knowledge, he clearly cares deeply about sharing great stories and interesting facts about Oahu, while taking us safely around the island. Recent events were reflected in his narrative, so clearly not one of those canned and never-updated scripts.
We’d recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get a first impression and overview of the island beyond the Waikiki hustle-and-bustle.

If you’re a first time visitor to Honolulu or short on time highly recommend the city tour with Grand Star City Island tour. It’s a day tour that covers all the top spots in Oahu. Best way to cover the entire island in a day. And the bus driver/ guide Tony was amazing!!!! He is a local and explained the history of each spot really well. He was relatable, humorous and kept the entire trip interesting. Overall a great experience!!!

Reserved this tour online a day before the event and was pleasantly impressed by the prompt response by the staff confirming my reservations. The driver, Lola, arrived on time & full of positive energy! The bus was so comfortable and clean with excellent accommodations & great temperature! Lola was such a great & fun host, very informative & had a lot of historical knowledge about each destination. She really made it so fun & enjoyable for all of us! I also felt safe on her bus. She brought us all a Hawaiian poi “donut” - which was absolutely delicious, and water! Lola is very personable & likable. She is very proud of her heritage & studied cultural history at the University which explains her great speaking skills & knowledge. I felt very entertained & a bit more informed of Hawaiian culture. The tour itself drove us by many beautiful beaches on the North Shore, rich & famous neighborhoods, gorgeous landscapes, saw many rock formations such as the Chinaman hat, alligator, rabbit popping out & the lion rock. Did some coffee & a variety of macadamia nuts tasting, visited the Dole Plantation, the Byodo-In Temple, saw a black goose, 2 huge turtles and a seal relaxing on the beach! Enjoyed the quaint beachside town of Haleiwa & the various food trucks! We ate coconut shrimp from the famous Cameron Shrimp truck, which I highly recommend and then stopped by a new Mexican restaurant for a drink. I highly recommend this tour, you will gain so much knowledge, there’s shopping at each stop, food & drinks! Be sure to try an ice cream cone at the Dole plantation too! Again, Lola was an excellent host and she kept us on schedule!

This tour takes you to several attractions, you get to see part of the island without having to drive yourself.
Our guide was Marlon: fun, gave us a lot of historic info, even taught us some words in hawaiian.thank you Marlon!
In Haleiwa, i would recommend bringing your own food and visiting the town, instead of spending one hour waiting for the food.
At the Dole plantation go to the back of the building to get dole whip, the truck in the front gets crowded. You have time just fo walk around a bit. No time for the pineapple express, the tour takes 15 min but the waiting time is more than 30 mins. If you really want to go, first check out the queue, then buy the tickets.

I had an amazing all-day Oahu Island tour with the best guide, Lola! The coach bus was comfortable and had a convenient, clean restroom. Lola was not only funny and informative, but she also gave fantastic recommendations at each stop. To top it all off, she treated us to fresh poi donuts, which were absolutely delicious. This tour exceeded all my expectations and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore Oahu. Thank you, Lola, for making our day unforgettable!

Lola was amazing. She knew the cute like the back of her hand. She not only provided us with the history of the land, but she made it fun. We had delicious traditional donuts and ice coke water. I want to recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater because some stops can get really chilly. Also, this is a nine hour trip, bring a few snacks for the ride.

An Amazing tour for the whole family , especially if you don't want a Circle Island Tour that involves snorkeling as part of the package. The bus driver/tour guide , Ms. Lola, was extremely entertaining and informative. She kept our attention toward the major landmarks to see at all times while giving us a history of the rich Hawaiian culture.
The Macadamia Farm and Dole Plantation offer unique souvenirs (particularly the Macadamia nuts and Local coffee) that aren't found in the ABC store. The 100% Kona variety is so delicious , but so pricey and difficult to find on the East Coast so we splurged on a few bags without regret.
Don't miss out on the photo op at the Japanese Temple to ring the giant bell for Long life, Health, and Prosperity. I taught my girls that if you hold out your hand very still with the koi/duck food in your palm close to the ground, the local doves will literally fly onto your palm to feed on it !
ALSO, Don't miss out on Matsumoto Shave Ice in Haleiwa on the North Shore part of the excursion, its worth the hype ! There are local art stores from famous artists such as Tabora and Wyland who specialize in Sea Scapes that are so life-like that it'll will blow you away . You may be tempted to buy one before you leave !

Lola is an amazing tour guide and an even better driver! She can reverse park her bus with no reverse camera and parking sensors. I was beyond impressed 😂 On a serious note, Lola is very knowledgeable of Hawaiian history and she delivered them in the most fun way. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to see Oahu in a day. Thanks Lola!

Hello, we will be staying at Aqua Palms Waikiki, 1850 Ala Moana Boulevard Honolulu, HI 96815. Do you pick up from this hotel?
Written October 5, 2024
Is this your similar to the grand circle tour that visits 16 locations? Do you see similar spots? I’ve seen both online and don’t know which one to book.
Written September 25, 2024
Would you be able to pick up from Seaside Ave, infront of Ross Dress store. Since my booked hotel Kuhio Bayan is not included from the location pick up, but near Seaside ave. Lastly, what to select in booking, if the hotel is not included in pick up location? "Hotel not yet booked". Let me know . thanks.
Written February 5, 2023
Contact the tour company. Our hotel were not pick up station, but usually they assign near by hotel, pick people up together. Contacting them is the best way.

Are admission tickets to the various stops, such as Dole Plantation and Coffee factory included? Thank you!
Written September 12, 2022
The dole plantation is free to visit but you will have to pay for extra stuff such as dole whip, anything you purchase in the gift shop, and in order to take a tour you will also have to pay but you are free to walk the grounds. The coffee factory is also free to visit and has free coffee and nut samples. You will have to pay for the items you want to purchase. I highly recommend this tour and I recommend going with Lola! She was the best. Mahalo!

What is the nearest pickup to the Bamboo Waikiki Hotel and what time? Also is there a lunch stop?
Written July 7, 2022
When you book the trip, they will give you the pickup locations. I hope you get Lulu as your driver/tour guide. She's hilarious! There is a lunch stop and there will be a number of places to choose from. There is also a stop at the Dole pineapple plantation where you can get pineapple ice cream. It's really good and they give you a large portion. My wife and I split one and it was very filling. Definitely recommend this tour!

What should we wear? Are we going to any places that we could potentially get dirty?
Written June 12, 2022
Great excursion for wearing white, no problem. A couple of stops are windy so a flared sundress would be annoying.
Written June 15, 2022
What would be the closest pick up location - I'm coming via cruise on pier 2. Thanks
Written May 30, 2022
There are several pick up points, you may need to UBER to one of them. When you check their website I remember it listing the various pick up points but I don't think any were close to you.
