Amazing day. Full of nature. Avoided tourist traps and had an authentic experience. Really enjoyed the waterfall swim and turtle beach. Seamus was very knowledgeable, accommodating and we didn't feel rushed. Fantastic tour.

Seamus’s excursion was wonderful! From the prompt pick up, comfortable ride, he was informative , patient, and helpful. The waterfall was great, lunch was amazing and beach was fun.

Very personable, customizable tour! Shamus was our guide and was very knowledgeable. Felt as if we were traveling with family. Neat stops along the way, cocoa farm, sugar mill, macadamia nut farm, the beautiful Waimea Falls, shrimp truck, North Shore, swimming with turtles. Didn’t see too many turtles though. Overall, worth the experience!!

This tour was worth every penny! We went for one full day during our honeymoon. Seamus and his loyal companion “Sandy Girl” were incredible tour guides. He has an incredibly vast knowledge of Hawai’i that helped us learn a lot in between activities while driving around. He took us to the former Sugar Mill, swimming at the Waterfall (with tour of gardens), the north shore shrimp trucks, and to visit the sea turtles. He was able to watch our stuff when the van was parked, take pictures, and even provided beach chairs to sit in while watching the sea turtles. We were able to spend as long as we liked at each stop which made it really peaceful. Other larger tour companies will take hundreds of guest per day across the entire island, but you won’t get an individualized trip and you may only be able to spend 5min at each stop. Seamus was super friendly and welcoming! He has lived on several of the Hawaiian islands and has a lot of great stories to tell! I really appreciated that he put safety first (making sure that we were safe but also that we were respecting the places we were visiting) throughout all parts of the tour.

the tour company cancelled my tour the day before. i couldnt find another tour because of this while we were on vacation. Dont do this one.

Shamus was a terrific guide who was both knowledgeable and personable and had great anecdotes. . He took us all atound and was very attentive to us. I would have liked a few less stops and a little more time at some of the beaches with an opportunity to go waiting, but I think he was concerned due to my age that I might trip on the uneven surface. My one complaint is with the unclear description of the Itinerary. I realize it’s subject to change but the description I got said swim with turtles which we did not do. Had I known there would be no swimming I would have dressed and packed somewhat differently. I still highly recommend this tour

Seamus...Chappy was our tour guide. He was amazing and very knowledgeable! Sandy girl his sidekick, was pretty special too! We had an amazing day from start to finish! I have to say the shrimp at the shrimp truck is the best I've ever had! I'm a turtle lover and Seamus did not disappoint! He took us to see them! We even saw one resting on the shore as well as several swimming around our feet! Just perfect!!

The views were simply amazing we took so many pictures. We hit the jackpot by booking a tour with Take A Hike Oahu. Shamus our guide is the BEST and is at the top of his game! A wealth of knowledge very personable and no pressure whatsoever kept telling us to take our time. Learned a ton of information about the Island, its culture, and what makes it special is the people We visited the chocolate and coffee factory. We walked to the Botanical Gardens waterfall. Lunch at the yummy shrimp truck. After lunch, we headed across the street to the amazing swim with the turtles beach. We plan to go back next year and for sure we will book Shamus and Take A Hike Oahu tours.

Beautiful falls. It is a botanical garden as well. There is a bit of a walk to the falls but definitely worth it. They do have a shuttle also. There are lush plants that are native to Hawaii surround the entire area. Many great picture opportunities. Make sure to take a swimsuit to get in the water at the falls.

Our island tour was a family hit! The friendly guide shared fascinating history and traditions. We learned about coffee & chocolate making (delicious tasting!), hiked to the stunning Waimea Falls (refreshing swim!), and swam alongside sea turtles on the North Shore (in a shallow and calm water). Perfect for families with or without children and even solo travelers – highly recommend!

Spent the day touring the North Shore with Shamus as our guide. We ended up having a private tour. The weather didn’t start out great, but got better as the day progressed. We attempted Waimea Falls, but there was no swimming due to the weather, so we decided to forego that. The tour was very much on the fly. Shamus was willing to do whatever we wanted and suggested some places for us. We stopped and swam with turtles. Had some good shrimp at Jenny‘s shrimp truck. Visited a macadamia nut farm. And basically got a tour of what seemed like the entire North Shore. It was a great day and Shamus was a great guide. Very friendly and outgoing. I would book with them again in the future.

What a great tour! So glad we chose to go with Shamus and the private tour option. Shamus was not only informative and full of great information about this beautiful island, but customized our trip tailored to us with personal touches and private access visits to off beaten path places . He made us feel taken care of and comfortable so we could enjoy the sites and have fun. Already referred him to others!

A well spent day. We were a family of 3. We booked the private SUV with Seamus as our tour guide. He was prompt and professional from the start. We expressed not wanting to go to the coffee plantation bc we had been on such tours in other places. He then offered us a stop at a private chocolate farm they had access too. The owner was gracious and let us in early in the am and it was so quaint and the chocolate was outstanding. They only sell for themselves and you can order from them directly. It was a very nice option to be offered due to their personal relationship. We were very happy were able to purchase fresh chocolate:) Next was Waimea which was informative and Seamus provided us with interesting information. Off to the North Shore to swim at Turtle Bay. Fun and relaxing as the turtles popped their heads up in the water. Being mindful to give the turtles space and not encroach upon them. Seamus took us to two local food trucks and we had lunch in the park. After 8 hours I wished the day could have been longer. It was so nice to be on our own time, at our own pace and Seamus was so accommodating. He provided us with beach chairs and water goggles for Turtle Bay. On our way home I asked if it was possible to stop somewhere for an Iced Drink. No problem ,we stopped at the coffee plantation take out shop on the way back, so we did get to taste the coffee anyway. Seamus was able to tell us so much about the activities provided for the locals in the city of Honolulu as well. We would book a private tour again with this company if going back and explore other parts of the island. Mahalo, Seamus, for being a welcoming host.

This was such a treasure. Seamus is a wealth of knowledge and made this such a great experience by diving into the history of so many things on this island. The shrimp truck amazing. The walk to the waterfall was beautiful. Can’t recommend this enough. Incredible value. If you’re reading this JUST BOOK IT.
