- trannt202200Great timeGreat tour! It is long because of the driving. Door to door for me was 12 hours. Dominik was engaging, knew a lot of history ad culture. All around good experience! Way better than trying to do all the stops on your own .
- Lisa J00Great tourOur tour was great. Katie, our tour guide, was incredible. She was very informative and made our tour very special. Our family had a wonderful time. We loved the volcano nation park and waterfall. Katie also introduced us to many yummy foods on the island. Great experience.
- jamesaT2499JN00First Trip to Big IslandDominick was great! Very knowledgeable about the island! Loved this tour! Absolutely recommend. Tour is very long, so been prepared. But absolutely worth it.
- Jeremy S00Full day full of facts12 hours of knowledge dropping action. Relaxing tour of a coffee farm, info about the the two types of lava on Big Island, history of Hawaii, some NASA facts, a nice lunch and dinner along with a couple of short hikes. We’ve been quoting our guide Dominic the rest of the trip. It made the rest of our visit more engaging knowing more about the island.
- Cynthia S00Volcano tour!Dominic was very knowledgeable about everything Hawaii! It was a great day with a small group which was cool. Take the trip! Your day will be awesome!!
- Howard H00Big Island in a dayDominik was great! Very knowledgeable and showed us all the great spots. I don’t think we could have had a better tour guide.
- P3697FSmichaelr00Full day of fun!Great tour and guide! Very knowledgeable and told things about a variety of different subjects. Awesome day! Dominik was great!
- 662gylec00Great job Dreu of Wasabi Tours! Excellent tour!If you enjoy history, astronomy and geology, this is your trip! Excellent job Dreu of Wasabi Tours ! We were very impressed of how much he knows the Big Island when he spent not even half of his life there. Take note that this is a 12 hour tour and Dreu took us all to the places we expected. Mahalo, Dreu! 🌺
- gray_but_not_old00Couldn't ask for a better tour and guide for this full daySOOOOOOO GLAD WE BOOKED THIS TOUR. Not only was our timing excellent seeing--twice--the eruptions of Kīlauea, but our guide Dominik was also SUPERB. He was very knowledgable in many areas and made the day enjoyable and go quickly despite the full day pf travel and sightseeing. Very customer oriented--pushed our starting time later so we could see the eruptions during the day and at night. The chance to walk in an old lava field was also educational and eerie in a good way. "from #4--I'm sure Dominik remembers!""
- 345arth00Big island tour/coffee plantation visitThis is a lot of driving but well worth it. Dominik was our driver and did an excellent job navigating and providing history of the area. The start of the tour was delayed so our group of 14 could view the volcano eruption in the evening. Dominik used a higher powered lens to record the eruption and shared it with us. Fantastic video for a once in a lifetime sight. Lunch at a bakery/deli was provided and a light evening meal too. He took us to a more secluded area so we could her a variety of birds that make the island home and be able to walk over the different types of lava flows. An excellent outing. We visited a coffee plantation and were shown how coffee is grown, harvested, processed and shipped to the consumer. You ca taste the various blend of coffees too.
- LivinglifeinPA00Great Timing ...............View of Kilauea (the ACTIVE) Volcano!!!!!!!!!We finally scheduled an event even more perfectly than we could have ever thought! The only tour that we had scheduled a month or so prior to our stay on the Big Island was this tour.....and Kilauea decided to erupt the day before our tour. I would have been SO disappointed if it had erupted the day after it. Dominik was a wonderful tour guide.....SOOO knowledgable about the history, vegetation, land formations, etc.....he made our 12-hour tour such an interesting one. Thanks, Dominik, for pushing back the start of our day so that we were able to see the erupting volcano during daytime and at night.....so amazing to see it at both times! We also enjoyed the stops at the Kona coffee farm and the black sand beach..seeing those sea turtles was exciting. The lunch at Punalu'u Bake Shop (LOVED the malasada!) and the dinner provided by that same shop were great. The narration and background info provided by Dominik added to our day......we would have never seen or learned as much if we had planned to do this by ourselves. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Big Island!!!!!
- jgpe100A great tour! The tour guide was amazing! He knew so much about Hawaii. He gave a thorough explanation of everything. He talked for the entire day and knew the history of Hawaii. He took us to interesting places. The steam vents and the lava tunnels were amazing to see. A great tour!
- 649happyc00Awesome tour of Hawaii. Big Island. Our trip was long but time went by fast. Our driver was very polite and knowledgeable. We learned a lot a saw a lot. I would recommend to anyone.
- reginacS1398VS00Very educational tour. Suitable for the whole family. This was a very educational and interesting tour. Dominick was an excellent tour guide! He was very knowledgeable about the biology, geology, history of Hawaii. He knew about industry, animals and climate. We had 3 generations in our group- from teenagers to eighty year olds. He handled questions with ease. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
- Mobile78281100Great Volcano ExperienceLong day, lots of driving, good guide/driver. Coffee farm, lunch, black sand beach, Volcanoes Park (lava tube hike, steam vents, and lava viewing), and dinner were all very good. Bakery stop was ok but not great. Malasadas were overly sweet and needed coffee to help mitigate the sweetness which was not provided. Stay away from the ones covered in icing. Also, since they had to be preordered pics would have nice. Van was nice with snacks, soft drinks, and water. One issue is being stuck in seats all day based upon pick up order. Sitting in the back for 12 hours is not great. Suggest drivers be responsible for seating assignment throughout the day.

Oahu circle tour was booked well in advance. The company was to contact me a day prior to the tour with details on a pickup location. I called Hawaii Outdoor Guides late in the day prior to the tour as I had received no call, text, or email. I was informed the tour had been cancelled. I was informed the company sends notice of cancellation out 72 hours before a tour. I had a record of texts, calls, and emails for that period with no record of contact with Hawaii Outdoor Guides. Their customer service was apologetic, but could not tell me how or if they had contacted me. There was no effort to rebook me on another tour. I realize errors happen and despite good reviews of their tours, I won’t use them again.

We were very disappointed with this company. We waited for more than an hour at the pick-up point and the driver had never shown up. We kept chasing them via email, chat and calls but never got any reply for the entire time we were waiting. After an hour and a half of chasing, we finally got an email advising us that the tour was cancelled due to lack of people participating.
We find this company so unprofessional and would never book with them again!

Dominick did a great job taking us on an island tour. He was friendly, humerous and informative on geography, cultures and history. The time goes by fast while he safely drove us around the island. I would say it was one of the best tours I've been on.

Dominik, our tour guide, opened up a whole new perspective about this island state. He’s knowledgeable about Hawaiian culture , history, language, historical sights, surfing lore, and great food trucks. He made sure we enjoyed each stop by giving us a timeline for when to get back.
Our group was only six in number, making it easy to ask questions and get acquainted.
If you want an all-day in-depth education about Hawaii, you can’t go wrong with this company and with Domonik.

I researched at least 20 tours before choosing this one. I had high expectations for this tour and it exceeded them all! Great information about Hawaii's history and culture. The tour skips the lame tourist traps like Coral City and goes to the best sights. Our amazing guide Bryce gave great recommendations of where to go at each stop. He called our orders in advance for Giovanni's shrimp truck so we skipped the long line - btw the shrimp scampi lived up to the hype (bring cash as it's cash only). He pointed out whales at our scenic stops. I never felt rushed at any time. We went everywhere: Hanauma Bay, the Macadamian nut farm where you can taste samples of the sweets and coffee or grab a freshly cut coconut to sip on, Sunset Beach where we saw some of a paddle board competition, a park in the Northshore with amazing views of Chinaman's hat, Kualoa Ranch, another small beach where we saw two see turtles sunning themselves, a little town in Northshore where I got tiger's blood shaved ice, and lastly Dole pineapple plantation to taste delicious fresh pineapple. You aren't just a face in the crowd in this small intimate tour. The small group allowed for lots of time sightseeing instead of loading and unloading a giant bus or waiting on late people. I can't recommend it enough. And they give you a sweet gift at the end. Don't think twice about booking. You will thank yourself!

The tour guide/ bus driver was quite good. She knew a lot of history, but each stop was definitely meant to sell you something. She recommended something (must try the...) at each stop to eat or drink. The trip did hit highlights along the coast but the only thing you had time for at the pineapple plantation and the macadamia nut farm was to buy something. You did not see ANYTHING but the gift shops.

Aloha!
Thank you for the time you took to write a review of our tour! I'm so happy that your tour guide knew a lot of history of the island. It also seems like you were happy to see the highlights.
I wanted to respond to the comment that this tour has too many commercial stops: We instruct our guides to let our guests know what are the highlights of the stops. For many people visiting Hawaii these things are food so we mention what food is available at the stop and try hard to stress other things to see that don't include spending money. For example when we go to Dole pineapple plantation we mention that the Dole whip is popular but also the free pineapple cutting demonstration where you learn how to choose a ripe pineapple and cut it properly (with free samples), visit the Koi pond, see the pineapple garden, look at the painted eucalyptus and don't forget the restroom before we leave. Now we did mention the Dole whip because there is often a line and if we don't instruct our guests we might not be able have the time to order the popular dessert. This tour picks up guests from multiple spots in Waikiki around 8 am and don't have a stop where you can buy an item until about 10:30 am. We do our best to show you sights that are interesting and would be on your list if you went around the island but apologize if this felt too commercial to you. We list all of the sights where we stop so recommend that you look at the itinerary closely when choosing a tour. Come back to us with a private tour next time and we promise not to stop at a single place that offers items for sale.
Mahalo for being our guest!

This is a tour which gives a thorough overview of Oahu at a price which is unbeatable. If fortunate enough to get Bryce as your guide, you will be treated to a wealth of knowledge. We were picked up early in the day and from that moment on were in the hands of a man who is funny, natural and generous. We were a small group of four and very diverse in our activity levels, but no prob, Bryce was able to manage this with gracious aplomb. If you want a tour with depth of history about Hawaii, great rest stops with the best tips on where to visit, buy and eat, but not much time to explore, this is for you. The day flew by, and even hoaky was turned into fun with a sense of humor. When at the tourist trap Dole plantation, walk right through the store, get out back and explore the gardens in peace and solitude while the hordes are loading up on trinkets, candy and ice cream. You won't be sorry. Oh, and take his suggestion on getting the best shaved ice for 3 bucks that two people can barely finish.

I would love to come on this trip, it looks amazing, however I’m allergic to macadamia nuts. I was just wondering if there is away around this like getting drop off at a different location.

The nuts are in a separate section, there is a shop and an outside area to wander around, you can try Hawaiian coffee, just cause it's a macadamia nut farm it's not all about nuts. The stop was only about half hour.

Hello. What activity did you do in Kualoa Ranch? How long was the stop there. Thanks in advance

It was a short stop to generally get the feel of the place. The shop was expensive and nothing in there we wanted unless you want to pay top dollar for dinosaur items. Our group didn't want to stay long as so many other things to look at on the tour. There are lots of activities to do if you want to go back but family who did the AV group said it was so fast there was not enough time to take the photos they thought they would be able too. Said it was costly as well. In hindsight they said not really worth it as there are better things on the island to see and experience.

I think she would be okay. You can choose to walk as much or as little at each stop. There's bathrooms at most stops too.
