About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Robert C0 contributionsA great day with a friendly native HawaiianOur tour guide Ben Elliot picked us up promptly at 9 AM. He is a native Hawaiian and was friends with just about every other ranger and tour guide that we encountered throughout the day. Ben is a really nice guy who has a large community of friends on the island and definitely knew some insider tips of places to visit and special foods to try (be sure to try the cream-filled malasadas from Leonards). We got to know a lot more about the island of Oahu and the Hawaiian way of life by spending the day with him. All in all it was a wonderful way to spend the day on Oahu.Written February 11, 2025
- henrys2010 contributionsGood Road tripIt was a very good road trip, although rather long; understandable given the distance we had to travel. Our driver/guide, Sean, was excellent.Written January 31, 2025
- Adfg100 contributionsThis tour was awesome! We visited Oahu for the first time and planned the circle island tour for day 1. Our guide Sean picked us from our hotel right at 9AM and we were on our way. Pleasantly surprised with the car- a Suburban- for our family of 5. My husband is tall so this fit all of us perfectly! As we drove Sean shared the history of the locations we visited and about the Hawaiian culture as we drove. Stops were timed perfectly too, a good mix of driving and stopping. We were able to see the Iolani palace, and the State house before going to Green World Coffee, the Dole Plantation, Hale'iwa, Kahuku-where we stopped for lunch at the food trucks. We also stopped at Kualoa park to see the "China man's hat, stopped for Malasadas, and visited Kaiwi State Shoreline. We covered a lot of ground, learned so much and loved every minute of it! Thank you to Sean who made our second day in Oahu one we'll never forget!Written December 31, 2024
- K4476HDricks0 contributionsThe Other Side of OahuWe love Waikiki but this tour was a fantastic way to see the rest of the island. We saw cute towns, quiet beaches, and learned a lot of history and culture along the way. Thanks, Sean!Written November 22, 2024
- P1902TMrossm0 contributionsFantastic tourFantastic tour totally built around what we wanted to see. We told our guide we wanted to see the real hawaii, learn about the people and culture and see some of the famous surfing beaches - and that is exactly what we got, with some lovely thoughtful insights and experiences we'd never have had any where else. I'd thoroughly recommend this tour if you want to get away from the standard touristy experiences on Oahu (but they can also be included if that is what you want)Written November 11, 2024
- stew b0 contributionsGreat guide beautiful tour. Our guide(Sean) was a great host and treated us like his Ohana. Sean took us on a 4hr tour from Port to the North Shore and shared history and sights that could not be done without his vast knowledge and experience having been born and raised in Hawai'i. - Getaway327730103430 contributionsAmazing and Personalized ExperienceWe signed up for the semi-private tour, but ended up getting a private tour- just us and the guide! Sean did an amazing job at showing us beautiful places on the island that we may not have otherwise ventured to. He was knowledgeable regarding history, but is also a native Hawaiian who grew up in this island, so we got a great perspective on things he was showing us. He not only showed is great places, he made suggestions about where to find clean bathrooms, where to rent cars by the day for less $, etc, which normally isn’t something you get 😂 We ended up going back a couple days later and spending more time in the spots we liked on the tour (like taking hikes, etc)! This was 1,000 times better than paying to be with a bus load of people, hoping to hear what the guide has to say, or to be able to squeeze in for a picture before the bus leaves... So worth it, I would recommend it to anyone interested in an insider’s perspective-but I do suggest doing it on da 1 or 2 of your trip- so you can generate ideas on things to do!Written May 19, 2024

- I4894RVcarlosv0 contributionsOahu Island Tour. Our tour guide was Jake and “Uncle Neal” was our driver. Jake was extremely informative during our tour. He was very engaging with our tour group and informed us of Hawaiin culture. He gave us a historical perspective as we toured the island. He was very charismatic and made sure we all felt at ease and comfortable. He asked if we needed anything during the tour and was helpful throughout. “Uncle Neal” was an excellent driver and drove us to our destinations without any issues at all. I would highly recommend the tour.Written December 11, 2023

- allenrH9166WR0 contributionsArrogant, Narcissistic, borderline antagonistic food tour that I would recommend to my worst enemy.First, if you don't like Hawaiian food, you're not going to like the tour. Second, it wasn't 3 hours, it was 2 hours. So you're paying $100 / hour. Most of that seems to be to pay for his celebrity. He made sure to tell us of his multiple TV appearances, TV shows, recent trips and travels, and name drop and say that he's a friend of over a dozen chefs on the island. I believe the technical term is narcissist. Third, he made sure to criticize the vast majority of the places we had already eaten at. He noted the luau we attended was the "worst" despite us having a very good time. My wife's choice of donut shop was sharply criticized. Fourth, the first stop was to get free samples at the local grocery store. To be fair, he added to that with a $3 Spam Musubi from the same grocery store. Fifth, his air freshener from the rear view mirror was of himself. Did I mention narcissist. Sixth, it will be clear by the end most of the cost you paid wasn't for the food but to associate with his "fame" On the positive side, he was educational about the history of Hawaiian food and how it differed from Japanese and other influences. Before I'd recommend his tour I'd recommend one of the restaurants he sharply criticized us for eating at like Hoku's.Written October 14, 2023

This was a good tour with a small group. Our guide Sean was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of facts that we would not have known about the history of the the TV show and Hawaii in general. Personally I think we spent too much time at the house as, even though it's a beautiful venue and the owners are very generous to allow us to be there, we didn't need to be there so long as there were so many other places to see. Having said that Cousin Flippa was kind and generous with his time and it was great to meet him. I would definitely recommend this trip and we were allowed lot's of opportunity's to stop and take pictures etc - I just think less time at the house and more time visiting other venues.....

So I expected a lot and got more. The time was worth the money. Lots of time with Flippa, great sandwiches and a guide who knew everything. Staying and dke viewing the house was awesome. You sit and eat with Flippa. Just a normal person. The size of the group is supi and also the pickup at the hotel was uncomplicated.

Sean was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable not only about the show but about Hawaiian history. Of course, meeting Cousin Flippa was awesome which he is very cool and down too earth guy. It was overall a very worthwhile experience. I highly recommend this tour to not only Hawaii Five-O fans but to anyone that wants to learn about Hawaii. Thank you for a fantastic tour!

A must for fans of the five o tv series old and new. Our host Sean being a local was full of great local info and history of the island as much as he is of the tv show. We visited Dano’s thinking spot, five o head quarters and the highlight lunch at McGarrets house spending time with Flippa. Great time thanks to Sean and Shawn.

Thanks to our Guide Sean and the team at Hawaii Jeep Tours for making our tour today great! In difficult circumstances - torrential rain AND the beginning of international lockdowns due to Corona Virus - Sean imparted so much information on this tour. Seeing McGarrett’s house and meeting Shawn Mokuai Garnett and hear all his inside knowledge of the workings of the show was invaluable. Definitely a tour to go on and Hawaii Jeep and Novelty Tours will see me again when I return to this beautiful place.

This is a must for Hawaii Five-O fans! Our guide Sean was just fantastic. Having been born and raised on the island he had a ton of great information about the history of the island. And of course he had a ton of facts about the tv series. We visited Danno’s thinking spot, drove by the film studio, medical examiners office. We stopped at the “headquarters of Five-O” which was so cool to see up close. And the highlight, lunch at the “McGarret” home. So thankful the owners allow big time fans to come and visit this beautiful historical home. And so awesome that we got to meet Shawn Mokuahi Garnett who played Flippa. Seriously the nicest guy! Fun to hear some stories from set and how much he enjoyed being apart of the series. To Sean and Shawn, I thank you!! Checking this one off the bucket list.

I had previously toured (4yrs ago) with Hawaii Jeep and thoroughly enjoyed the half day tour with them. I was looking to do something with my sister and checked Hawaii Jeep out and came across Lunch at McGarrett’s.
Ideal as my sister is a big fan so booked on line. A day before we left Oz I received a call to ask if I’d like to change days as they had a rare opportunity to attend when filming was being done. Of course yes - a no brainer.
We were picked up early from our hotel by Sean and after picking up another 4 people we were on our way! This was a first apparently and we were so delighted to be included. We had a great time at the McGarrett house and were so warmly welcomed by the owners Sue & Richard. Sean was amazing explaining many of the production details to us and the film crew were also very accommodating. We were able to have our lunch at the dining room table and watch the filming of takes outside. Got to see Danno and McGarrett perform! Time was up and we had to say goodbye to our hosts and Sean took us for a further tour around Honolulu to show as a lot of the filming spots and gave so much local information. We had a great time and were so appreciative of this very special day. Thank you Sean and Hawaii Jeep - next time we return I hope to do the food tour!

This was an absolutely outstanding tour. We were provided with great information about Honolulu, Waikiki and Oahu. Our guide was absolutely amazing as he took us around to the film studio, to various filming locations and then to lunch at the house where McGarrett is filmed at. An awesome surprise was that Cousin Flippa was at the house and had lunch with us as well as photos and just hung out. Great guy, very friendly and easily approachable. It was absolutely awesome and we highly recommend Sean.

We have been 5-0 fans for 10 years...love the show that really lets you see Hawaii! Any gave us a private tour which was amazing. She was so friendly and informative! We loved her insight into the program, production, locations, and cast. We were not able to meet up with any of the cast or do the stop at McGarrets, but felt that the tour was well it! We hope to try going again on our next trip to Paradise. Fans really need to “book it” Danno!!

Is Tantalus Drive still a part of the filming locations sights the tour visits?
We’ve booked this tour for May and want to make sure we hit Tantalus on our own if it’s not part of this tour anymore.
Thanks :)

why shouldn't we get a refund just based on time on the tour. Most people commented tour was half day normally picked up at 8 returned at 130pm.. we were picked up at 8 and returned at 1130am.. yes pali highway and other areas not showed.... Most of the curt answers showed me that I am too knowledgeable and you know nothing about H%) and filming... What I do know is fairness and this certainly was poor...…...Its all about me and my kid and you all are nothing..... Well we wanted to learn and expore and this didn't happen. But despite all I did give the lady a tip out of respect.
