We visited all the major site seeing locations, saw some celebrity homes, and swam with the turtles. Also visited a Macadamia farm and finally topped it off with a visit to the Dole Pineapple plantation and a Dole ice cream specialty treat. He was engaging, patient and extremely knowledgeable about all the places we visited as well as Hawaiian culture in general. I would also like to give a shoutout to Rao’ol, who was beyond helpful with the booking and was the single reason I even considered booking the tour, which wasn't originally on our list. - mldpaint0 contributionsTravelling around Oahu visiting places with fabulous views, amazing experiences anf great guide. The trip was along the east and north coast of Oahu. We saw some incredible vistas and our guide was a local young man who was very knowledgeable and personable. We travelled in a 14 person bus and the driver was just as knowledgeable as the guide. We made many stops - like to a macadamia farm that had so many good things to taste - my favourite was the honey roasted macadamia nuts. We stopped to swim in the ocean, with a lifeguard provided. Snorkels were available and the lifeguard gave lots of useful pointers. We were looking for turtles and saw several. We travelled to a second beach where we found turtles right up on the beach. Our tour ended with a visit to the Dole pineapple plantation. Never have a seen so many pineapple themed items! I cannot recommend this tour enough. You will love it. Ask for Nevin and Benjy!Written December 10, 2024
- Megan H0 contributionsGreat company with aloha spiritThe owner of the company went above and beyond to accommodate us when our tour was unable to run showing great aloha spirit. We were put on to a new tour promptly and compensated alongside taking time from his evening to help us get to and from a trail we wanted to see. Would definitely recommend booking with this company. Will book with them on our next trip. MahaloWritten December 2, 2024

Ohana means family, and that’s what they work to achieve in this tour.
Size. Unlike huge buses with a driver tour guide, this tour is just a coaster of 20. That means less waiting time, more attention, and more intimate groupings.
Service. Kurt and Tiho’s tour guide and driver tandem was great. Early in the morning, like a concerned father, Kurt calls everyone to make sure no one was missing the bus. Kurt, though a bit husky from working much, has a superb built-in microphone in his vocal chords. If his voice doesn’t keep you awake, his history lessons, jokes and celebrity scoop will. That’s enough to keep the academician and the gossiper both awake. This is a good contrast, because I really almost fell asleep on the smooth drive. Kurt’s pretty tough too, he has a commanding presence that warns travelers with their own itinerary that they may need to take the bus if they don’t follow the schedule.
Costs. Like a thrifty mother, in every stopover, Kurt likewise advises everyone what’s worth your money and what you need to think twice about. Since Hawaii is a pretty expensive State to visit (around $20/restaurant meal minimum, unless you get prepacked food from convenience stores), I really appreciate the fact that the lunch stopover was not meant to rip us off. Lunch was at $15 for a meal and $2 for a drink, no service charge, for freshly harvested shrimp. The person seated in front of us even said that it was the cheapest food they’ve had in their visit. Snacks at Dole Plantation, which is optional, is $7.99/cup of dole whip with pineapple and $5/cob of flavored corn.
Turtles. It may just be us, but I think seeing turtles is a sure shot. As of May 2022, there are 30 turtles living in Turtle Bay. You only need to walk along the shore line to see them. The algae on the rocks they feed on are on shallow waters. I believe I saw 3-5 of the 30. Beware though. Since they are protected, touching them would make you liable for $50,000. I appreciate that they give repeated warnings about this. We really should preserve nature. I only wish that I should’ve trained my husband to snorkel and brought fins and a vest for him, as the tour only comes with goggles snorkels — plus points that it had purge valves.
I’d love to say more, but it’s better to experience everything. I’m from the Philippines, and I did find Hawaii expensive, but I can say that this tour was worth the spend, especially for singles and couples visiting Hawaii for the first time.

This was a very well rounded tour around the Island with a nice stop to swim with the turtles. Very chill snorkeling experience, be advised that day to day it can always be different.
The best part was Mike the guide, very fun tour guide who is really trying his best to give you the best bang for your buck, fun stories and jokes and really knows his stuff about the Island. Uncle Ken is also a great driver. Overall very fun experience and well rounded tour for families, adults, really anyone looking to see a snapshot of the whole island and learn some cool stuff about it.

King Mike was fun, charismatic, and had great stories and insights to the island life. However, he did tend to leave his mic on so we often heard his efforts to whistle or hum along with the radio. I would perhaps deduct a point for it...but it still exceeded my abilities and added a little extra something to the experience. The weather wasn't right to snorkel (which seems to be fairly common based on reviews), but we were able to see a few turtles from the shore. I would not recommend this if you're more interested in the turtles than the tour...but if this is a first visit to the island, it is a fantastic way to see a little of everything for a reasonable price and spend a day with a king.

We specifically booked this tour because we wanted to snorkel with the turtles. Understand that you can’t guarantee nature, but aside from the beach stop, there was no commentary or any other focus on turtles. In hindsight, we should have booked a turtle specific snorkeling tour.
We weren’t told there were other options nearby at lunch, with Mike’s Huli chicken place the advised option. We weren’t told it was a famous chicken place, otherwise we might have chosen that. The food was average at best.
At the turtle stop, the water was turbulent and with a current, with limited visibility. The lifeguard told us to let the current take us out, as that’s where the turtles were, but we didn’t feel comfortable doing that. The only turtle we saw was on the beach.
The stops along the way were a bit random, including the Dole Plantation and the macadamia nut farm, both overpriced tourist traps. It was a very long day, and we don’t feel it showcased the best Oahu has to offer.
Mike and Uncle Keith, our guide and driver, were good and enthusiastic, but we felt we were left to our own devices at each stop, which could be a good or bad thing.

Fun and relaxing time. We were a very small group due to COVID but it gave us a great deal of flexibility on how long we wanted to spend at each stop and even if we didn't care to stop or do an activity. It was really nice to almost be able to customize the tour. The guide, Bon Jovi (I am not kidding) was very accommodating and other than the bad jokes sprinkled throughout the tour showed a wide knowledge of the island in general the stops we made specifically.
Definitely worth the time and money to take this tour.

While I appreciate the knowledge the tour guide Mike and the driver Keith had to offer, this tour was pretty disappointing.
Diamond Head was a waste of time. My husband and I hiked it the day before and it is spectacular. The tour bus just drove through the parking lot at the base of the crater.
Snorkeling was NOT AS ADVERTISED. Beware of the 'management' images placed in the description of this tour. The water was brown and murky, so you were not able to "swim with the turtles" at all. I don't understand why we stopped at this particular beach to snorkel, when we were passing so many much more scenic beaches along the way. Some of the customer images of snorkeling appear to be a completely different beach than the one we were taken to.
Dole Plantation- we were given 40 minutes here which is not even enough time to get in line for a Dole Whip and eat it. Tour guide Mike threatened us with taking the city bus back if we were not on time. Nice touch! We did not have time to walk the grounds which includes a maze and a botanical garden.
Overall- you cannot deny the beauty of the island and the insight of Uncle Keith who is a native Hawaiian. Unfortunately the tour was not worth the money. The only food included was the free coffee at a gift shop and the free samples at the macadamia nut farm. Both driver and guide seemed burned out and mentioned how many days they had worked in a row (we even made an extra stop for the driver to check on his dog and drop off groceries). Snorkel expedition was especially disappointing and was what my husband and I were looking forward to most of all. Also, there was a woman seated in front of us who was drinking the whole tour and was late getting back on the bus at every stop. This should have been addressed early on. She was loud, obnoxious, and constantly interrupting the guides. Maybe we just caught this tour on an off day but I think your money is better spent on another tour or just renting a car and hitting these stops yourself!

My husband and I had one of the greatest days of our life! It was an incredible experience and having Mike guiding the tour made us feel like we were in the hands of someone who really knows his stuff! He kept the tour super chill and friendly and we both just enjoyed the trip and didn’t worry about a thing. He is also the most interesting man in the world. He is like the Dos Equis dude. I am very happy that aloha tours cares about wildlife and we’re very careful to educate our group about how to protect the turtles and their environment. There was another aloha tours bus and there were a couple female tour guides from that bus (I think they were tour guides??) that kept all the tourists in check to protect the turtles and I was so happy they were doing that. It put me at ease that someone was watching over the turtles when we were there. Anyways my favorite stop was Fumis because that food was unbelievable. I would 100% recommend this to anyone and would say
It was money and time well spent.

This tour was an awesome way to branch out and experience parts of the island other than Waikiki. Our tour guide Nevon was so knowledgeable and he had information to share about our surroundings at every turn! Be prepared for a full day of hopping on/off the bus for many scenic views and photo ops. Bus is heavily air conditioned and it’s perfect for the Honolulu heat. The turtles were adorable and the Pineapple Factory was amazing. Highly recommend this tour as you receive a detailed experience with the best pit stops on the island for an EXTREMELY affordable price.

Thoroughly enjoyed this trip with Kurt and Harry!
Picked up right outside our hotel and Kurt was great giving informative facts about the island as we passed through whilst also having a great sense of humour.
We had plenty of time at each spot so didn’t feel rushed. Snorkelling with the turtles was a huge highlight!
We also had a small group on the bus so it never felt overcrowded - would really recommend this trip! :)

Definitely wear your swimsuit, and dress comfortable. If you have a light rain jacket might be nice if it’s raining and your outside. Your going to probably want towels or beach towels too.

Hi, how long can we do snorkeling?
We’re staying at Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort, can we be picked up from there?
Thanks,

We spent a long time snorkeling. It was at least 2 hours. I think it depends how long you stay at the earlier parts of the tour. I am not sure about the pickup, but I would be surprised if they don’t pick you up there since we drove right past it on our tour.
