Overview
Step aboard the Grand Canyon Railway for a trip to the majestic Grand Canyon you'll never forget. Feel the rumble of a vintage train as the engine chugs 65-miles (approximately 105 km) across the beautiful Northern Arizona countryside. The train offers kaleidoscopic views of the San Francisco Peaks and rolls through valleys adorned in wild flowers, dense pine forests, high desert plains and small canyons.
Highlights
  • Travel the way people have since 1901 during this Grand Canyon Railway tour
  • Choose from coach or first-class seating on the Grand Canyon train
  • Add a guided tour along the rim by motor coach once you reach Grand Canyon National Park
  • Upgrade to add lunch at the Maswik Lodge, nestled in a pine forest
What to Expect
This Grand Canyon Railway adventure tour starts at Williams Depot in Arizona. Check in and, before boarding your train, watch a fun Wild West shootout re-enactment in an outdoor theater.
Then, aboard your train, settle into your seat and get ready to journey across Arizona’s northern countryside to the Grand Canyon National Park. As you ride, musicians will stroll by to entertain and actors will perform a faux old-time train robbery.
Once you arrive at the canyon, get off your train and board a motor coach for a trip touring the South Rim.
If you’ve upgraded to include lunch, enjoy your meal at the Maswik Lodge after the rim tour.
Your Grand Canyon tour ends back at Williams Depot after your return train ride.

Let's tackle the bad first: the included buffet dinner and breakfast at the hotel are bad. All I can say is that it's food, and I took off a point for that. Otherwise, what a nice hotel and what a fabulous way to go to...More

As i believe you meant to say " steam" the answer could be yes as a steam engine is used on certain days. It would be wise to contact the railway directly and inquire as to when the steam engine is scheduled.
