- Companion076034125620 contributionsBest day everI normally don’t write reviews, but I had to take a moment to tell the world about Cottonwood Wine Tours. My wife and I were visiting San Antonio looking for something different to do and we stumbled upon Cottonwood. We took the Hill Country Aficionado tour with Diana. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a great day. This was the highlight of our trip. I will definitely book a Cottonwood Wine Tour when we visit San Antonio again.Written March 2, 2023

- JosieLeeWells0 contributionsPrivate Label Is a must experience at least once!We booked a Private Label tour, me and my mother, and let me tell you, for being first time wine tourists, we want to do this AGAIN! We loved our tour guide Robin! She was very courteous and made sure we were comfortable and provided anything she could if we needed it! She also gave us history on our commute and thought quickly to fill our itinerary when we had extra time in the AM, so we squeezed in a fun little Gem! Then we ended up not feeling Fredericksburg (old body injuries were not letting me enjoy Fredericksburg) and she happily took us to a sandwich place on the way to our next winer tour. We had a lovely lunch! For all our tours she spoke up for us, asked kindly if we wanted her to take our pics-which was great since we were just drinking it up and would forget about pictures! ^_^ We can’t wait to go back on these wine tours! Love you Robin! <3Written July 18, 2022

- 622AlisonK0 contributionsGreat day on private label tourWe enjoyed our Private Label tour day. Picked up from hotel downtown San Antonio and arrived back by 5. 3 wineries included which were customized based on our wine preference. Matt was a gracious host, driver, and historian for us. Recommend booking through then. Brady was great to coordinate the with.Written December 21, 2020
- Rachelplus30 contributionsAficionado wine tourThis was the reason we travelled to SAT....hill country wines. Matt was absolutely wonderful. He gave us history lessons about the area and provided more information regarding the history of wines in TX. He asked us what kind of wines we preferred but be open to go outside your comfort zone...you won’t regret it. We did the aficionado tour and I bought wine from every winery we tasted at. We had so much fun and met a lot of really cool people. The time at Fredericksburg was perfect for lunch and to check out some of the stores. Don’t look at any other wine tour!Written October 26, 2020
- 382craigr0 contributionsPrivate Wine TourMatthew and Cottonwood Wine Tours are 10 steps ahead of the other tours. Matthew is super knowledgeable. We learned so much on our tour. He handpicked 3 different Hill Country wineries that were unique and picturesque. Some of the best wine we’ve ever had. I highly recommend them. I wish we could give them more stars.Written July 23, 2020
- kimmiecoco0 contributionsPhenomenal Wine Tour/GuideWe took the Guadalupe wine tour. Matt was phenomenal. Not only was he knowledgeable about wine, but the area as well. He was very personable and accomodating especially since we were having to deal with COVID restrictions. We felt very safe as he went above and beyond to maintain and observe the necessary precautions. I highly recommend this tour and this company. will definitely return.Written June 14, 2020
- nmnancyt0 contributionsGreat TourThis is a delayed review, my husband and I did the Texas White House tour in September 2018 and we had a great time. It turned out to be only my husband and I on the tour, but it wasn't cancelled and Matt was very knowledgeable and friendly. We spent some time in Fredericksburg, had lunch there, then went on to a great tour at the LBJ ranch. The final stop was a winery visit with great tastings. Overall a wonderful way to spend the day.Written February 23, 2020
- nadinemJ333KN0 contributionsFunBrandy was a great guide and I had a lot of fun. The nice thing about Cottonwood tours is they will run even if only one person signs up. That was the case with me. Thanks for a wonderful evening.Written January 25, 2020

- Karen R0 contributionsTexas Wine ExperienceOn a recent business trip to San Antonio, my husband and I decided to explore the wine country of South Texas. We booked a Sunday morning, half day tour with Cottonwood Wine Tours. Our host and tour guide Matt was enjoyable and informative about the region as well as wine making in general. We have traveled the world and toured many vineyards and wineries. There were insights and knowledge that Matt imparted which were new discoveries for us. And once Matt discovered what OUR wine preferences were, he tailored our experience to the appropriate wineries for us. We really had a lot of fun. We started our tour at Sister Creek Vineyards in Sisterdale, where Matt toured us through their barrel room and described the wine making process that they use for the wines they create. We tasted all of their wines and found several we loved. From there we went to a wine tasting room in Comfort, were we tasted with the wine maker from Newsom Vineyards. We found many more bottles to enjoy and take home. Next door was a fabulous Distillery called Hill Country Distillers which we tasted their very unique brand of flavored spirits made from prickly pear cactus. We also loved our lunch break at High's Cafe, just behind the the tasting rooms and enjoyed the atmosphere of the sweet town of Comfort. We plan to take another tour with Cottonwood Wine Tours when we return. We highly recommend using Cottonwood Wine Tours for personal or corporate entertainment. Thank you Matt!Written November 17, 2019

If I could give 6 stars, I would in a heart beat. Cottonwood Wine Tours did an absolutely amazing job at everything from start to finish. I first reached out in 2020 to book a corporate event and Brandy was so easy to work with. After Covid got in the way of our group's trip, we had to postpone until 2022. We finally got to utilize Cottonwood Wine Tours last week and our group had the BEST time! Brandy made booking and re-booking the trip a breeze and was very easy to get a hold of and communicate with (an event planner's dream!). Matt, our tour guide, was personable, funny, kept us one time and also shared an unbelievable amount of knowledge around Texas Wine Country. We had a blast! 10/10 recommend them and I will definitely be booking with them again in the future. Thank you Brandy and Matt!!

So glad to hear you had a great time! It was definitely a challenge to stay in business during the shutdown and it was a very unpredictable & scary time, but I’m glad that we were finally able to reconnect (after 2 years) and finally take your company out on a tour. Thanks again for calling on us to be your wine tour guides for the day.

We had the best time! Matt was our guide. He was funny and entertaining, and even told us a little about himself. He is extremely knowledgeable about wine and local history. The wineries were interesting, our winery hosts were wonderful and engaging, and the wine was delicious!
He was also very good at fascilitating the bonding of our group. Our group of five became fast friends and instead of going off in differnent directions once in Fredericksburg, we all had a wonderful lunch together with great conversation. Very cute town, I want to come back and see more!
We had an amazing time and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting around San Antonio.

This trip was phenomenal and I highly recommend it. The tour guide, Matt, grew up in San Antonio and was a fountain of knowledge on everything, including wine…the subject of the tour!
He picks you up at a scheduled location and off you go into the Hill Country…beautiful!
The van was 3 rows deep, but you’d have no trouble hearing Matt. He spoke a perfect volume and enunciated!!! My mom would fall in love with him cause she’d HEAR him…even from the back!
We stopped at the first winery and Matt gave us the tour and then we sat and sampled about 9 wines! After, he gave us three different options on where to go for the next sampling. The group decided!
I’m a wine idiot and learned a lot. We had connoisseurs in the group and they learned stuff too!!
After the second winery we were off to downtown Fredericksburg! Matt had great suggestions for lunch and then we had about sn hour to shop! Coulda shopped all day in Fredericksburg and the shops are great!
Matt…got something for you to contemplate at night…when Sweden and Denmark play each other the scoreboard says SWE-DEN. The remaining letters in each country spell out DEN-MARK !!! 🤯.
Thanks Matt, for a wonderful day!

Cottonwood Wine Tours stands out above the rest. We were in town for a work conference and had an extra day. At last minute (literally the night before around 11pm), we wanted to book a wine tour. Matthew called us back the next morning around 9:30 and said he could pick us up at our hotel by 10:30. Every winery we stopped out had delicious wine and they knew Matthew like family. It felt like we were getting to know the owners and families like they were friends. Matthew recommended restaurants, wines, local places and more. If I were ever in San Antonio again, I would 100% book another tour. HIGHLY recommend booking a tour with Matthew at Cottonwood Wine Tours.

We really enjoyed this tour with Robin We visited two wineries, Sister Creek Vineyards and Texas Wine collective. The tasting room in Sister Creek Vineyards is in an old 1885 cotton gin. It was like stepping into a different era. The wine was pretty good, but the atmosphere was amazing. Texas Wine collective was a tasting room that included three different wine sellers in the area. After visiting the wineries we went for lunch at Fredericksburg. This little town is so cute. We ate lunch at a French restaurant called Vaudeville and walked around the city. We also stopped in a town called Luckenbach. This was a town bought by someone in order to host music festivals and apparently Willie Nelson played here quite often. I would highly recommend this tour if you’re ever in San Antonio.

The tour guide, Sharon, was really nice and did everything she could to make this a great experience. The first winery we went to was just 'ok' and to add to the disappointment was another tour group showed up at the same time, so we had to stand around and wait on them to be done with their tasting. The next winery was better, and they were more informative. The drive out to Fredricksburg is pretty boring, but the town was ok. We were able to eat while we were there but there was not time for anything else. I would say it is a good experience for people to do, but I wouldn't do it again.

This past weekend was actually my second time touring with Cottonwood! My first trip was with my husband 4 years ago. This time I brough my group of 6 ladies on our annual girls trip (ages 32-70). Robin was our tour guide and we thoroughly enjoyed our time! Since it was the 6 of us they were able to provide a private tour where we visited 3 wineries and spend some time having lunch and exploring Fredericksburg. We drank our butts off, laughed, learned some cool things about wine and loved every minute of it. Robin was knowledgeable and personable. She fit right in with our crew. I highly recommend this activity! It was one of the highlights of our trip.

Fantastic wine tour! I was in town for my daughter’s conference and had Saturday solo. Brandy did an amazing job sharing a wealth of information about the wine and wineries we visited. Fun stop in Fredericksburg for lunch and shopping. Brandy went out of her way to drop off a styrofoam wine shipper to my nearby hotel that evening, so I could take home all the delicious wine I purchased during the tour. Highly recommend!

I think we got back at like four or five. It was an all day tour and it was super enjoyable.

Hi. Two sisters traveling. We would like to take the tour but stay in Fredericksburg rather than return to San Antonio enroute to Austin. Are we able to safely leave a couple small roller bags in the vehicle while we tour .. just toiletries and a change of clothes. We could also take them with us as we tour
Written November 10, 2019
They locked up the van each time we left you I am sure if there is room it will be safe to leave. There were only 4 of us on our tour so there was room.
Written November 10, 2019
We will have a group of ten staying in San Antonio. Can you accommodate ten people in the same vehicle? Also, I saw one review said they visited four wineries. Is this an option or does it have to be two wineries? Thank you!
