Bike It Now thought of everything for us, from comfortable sturdy bikes, to advice on things to see and do on the trail, to letting the local pubs know we'd be in for dinner at the end of each day.

The trail itself is beautiful and ever-changing, the riding challenging but not hard on push bikes, and the locals are generous and engaging everywhere you go.

We started from Cromwell on the Dunstan Trail, which was a much tougher ride, but well worth it for the scenery (and the burgers along the way). We did the Dunstan + Otago Rail Trails in four days at about 50km a day - would highly recommend this itinerary.

So pleased you had a great time, yes the LDT is the harder ride. If people are able to do the trips in reverse ie OCRT first then the LDT it can prepare you a little better. However very aware this is not possible most of the time. So glad to see our locals are getting a good plug, they are awesome and contribute so much to the overall cycle trail experience.

Fletch thank you for a superb day out on the trail. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Your team is amazing. So friendly and Professional and went the extra mile to ensure we were all perfectly comfortable with our bikes. None of us had had any experience with ebikes before but your team ensured we were all fitted with the appropriate bike for us and took time to ensure we were all completely comfortable .
I would thoroughly recommend Bike It Now to anyone looking for a fantastic biking experience

Everyone in this team went out of there way to be helpful and make our holiday fun. Our only reservation came from where we began the ride.
Clyde is the Bike it Now base.
We started in Cromwell and anticipated a briefing starting from there. The lake Dunstan track is a fantastic ride and if the briefing was in Cromwell rather than Clyde we think it would have suited our journey better.
Clyde became an anticlimax.
Our thanks to the accommodation providers for the great welcome and facilities they shared with us.
Be wary of Waipiata on a friday night. Only fellow riders to greet you at the Tussock Lodge and we fluked the last table reservation on a busy night- slow, slow service. So much for prebooking and a link between accommodation and only meal provider in the town.
The bikes we had rolled well and were comfortable, fortunately we had our own light so when the ebike light failed we carried on regardless.
The bag drop was efficient and helpful, the drivers we meet super nice and the wind pushed us along the track too.

From the time hubby and I contacted Jan at Bike It Now! in August to the end when we were dropped off at The Esplanade Motel in Dunedin, we felt supported, informed and excited.
We flew from Wellington to Queenstown and got the bus into the center for lunch and a wander, making our way to the pickup point at 2pm. 7 of us were shuttled to Clyde where we were met by Fletch and introduced to our bikes then taken to Oliver's for a drink and briefing. Our bags were dropped off at Dunstan House our accommodation before heading off to Omarama the next day. After a delicious dinner at Oliver's, wonderful and comfortable sleep and breakfast at the Dunstan, we set off on our journey. I've not ridden a bike for about 35 years so was nervous and excited at the same time. Having ebikes was perfect as we were able to fully enjoy the trail and not be exhausted at the end of each day.
The trail is very well maintained and there are plenty of toilets and stopping points along the way. In our info packs we're passports with information about each section and a space to put a stamp as we went through each milestone.
Accommodation was perfect and comfortable with breakfast included and bookings made at local places for dinner and suggestions for morning tea and lunch along the way.
Each day had temperatures up to 32 degrees except the last day from Hyde to Middlemarch where the weather was showery and cool which was a nice change. We arrived in middlemarch around 10.30am and dropped our bikes at Bike It Now! and wandered along the road for a hot drink and food. A lovely shower at Bike It Now was welcome and we settled in to await our shuttle transfer to our accommodation in Dunedin.
A couple of weeks later and we are still buzzing and looking into other bike trails.

Having arranged our own and done many multi day tramps in the South Island and especially around Otago we were keen for something different where we did not have to carry heavy packs for a change. The Otago Rail Trail had been on our hit list for some time now. For once we were happy to let someone else do the detailed organizing and Bikeitnow did all of that and gave us the confidence of a well planned and organized 4 days. From the first interaction with Lois in answering our queries and completing the booking and supply of the pre ride training and what to bring information, Yanniks setting up of the well maintained and specced bikes including with my own pedals, to the detailed pre -briefing from Fletch, and then the great ontrail overnight accommodation stays and arrangements. This was a memorable experience and we can't wait to bring the grand kids when they are old enough, albeit that we might be on E Bikes next time.

We booked with BIN From the UK and they could not have been more helpful or prompt in replying to emails. The whole experience with Bike It Now was very slick and very professional at the same time as being very friendly.
The one Day Wonder tour was simply amazing. The scenery is superb and the trail is very easy to ride. The Poolburn Gorge section is very beautiful but after that the vista opens up to incredible landscapes. We did the whole 60km on ordinary trail bikes.....and we are not cyclists, not very fit and comparatively not young!! There is an option to be picked up at Chatto Creek but we didn’t use it. We had a coffee stop at Lauder which was fab with great cakes on offer. Most of the trail from Auripo to Clyde is flat or downhill - and there are some exhilarating downhills ! A day we will not forget.

We did two rides. The Dunstan trail and the Roxburgh gorge. The Dunstan trail was awesome great scenery and well groomed trails. The Roxburgh gorge was a different type of scenery but still really good, the trail was not as smooth but still well maintained. We hired bikes from Bike it now and had one ebike and one standard bike, both were very good condition and staff explained how to use the ebike and getting to and from the trails. Shuttles were on time with collections and the drivers very friendly and informative. No hesitation in recommending to people looking for bikes.

We just completed the Otago Central Rail Trail arranged through Bike It Now. The service provided by this company is truely five star plus. The accommodation was excellent the ebikes were great but what really impressed were the little extras provided by the Bike it Now team. Great personal recommendations for us which made our trip extra special. Fletch and all the team at Bike it Now are true tourism industry professionals. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Friends
Thank you to Bike It Now for their friendly service, and customer focused approach.

Nothing was too much trouble - including unexpectedly delivering an e-bike on day two of our trip.

Great information before setting off was given, and Fletch was simply an angel when explaining the trail.

Lovely to have our bags waiting for us each night, and everything was a breeze. We didn’t have to think at all!

Highly recommend
Many thanks

We were dropped off in Auripo cycled back towards Clyde (approx 60k). The old railway track is easy to follow and there are some spectacular bridges and tunnels in the early stages. The tour was well organised, the bikes were very comfortable (e Bikes available for the less hardy) and an optional pickup from the pub at Chatto Creek at about the halfway point. One caution - if there is a bit of a nor westerly wind blowing, the headwind can make the ride either side of Omakau hard work.
