- Enjoy6000Beautiful evening!Well done! The luau was in a beautiful setting. The serving team members did a great job! They made sure everyone had what they needed and there was plenty of food. The food was good not great. It was certainly what one might expect when feeding a large group. The entertainers were really good and appeared to be enjoying their jobs. We booked last minute and were right up front. Overall nice job and I would visit again!
- russwoods400Aloha!Great location, views and show! Lots and a good variety of food and drink. Enjoyed by entire family ages 1-70 with young energetic boys and teenagers also. A bit pricey.
- evenprimes00If you come to Hawaii you have to do a luau. Make it a great one at Te Au Moana. The food was very good. The drinks at the open bar were ok, but nothing special. The highlights were they show and the conversation with our table mates. Table 6 on 10/17 rocked it! 😃 We arrived promptly at 4:30 and got our table a few minutes later. The sun was still pretty harsh at that time, so we saved our seats, grabbed a drink, and stood in the shade unroll we were more ready to get started. (Sunscreen on your face is really important!) We were all more comfortable once the sun went down! (Note: this week was apparently atypically hot for this time of year, your experience may vary.) The food is served family style: big plates/bowls for the whole table to share. I don’t know if they can bring seconds of anything, but it seemed like everyone at our table got all we wanted of everything and there was still food leftover. The show is obviously a highlight and our MC was great! The dancers (male and female) were all excellent as well. We did this early in our trip and it was a great event.
- J5065CNgabriellef00Great for dietary restrictions & allergies! The property and the Luau itself is breathtaking! My boyfriend and I were able to book the week of. We were seated at a table of eight to eat family style and it was so nice to meet new people! The food was incredible and authentic. If you have any dietary restrictions and/or allergies this luau is for you. I am a vegetarian who is allergic to mushrooms and was honestly expecting a bowl of rice to be thrown down in front of me because that’s the usual elsewhere, however that is not the case here. They made me my own platter and my server even came over to explain which items on my plate match up with the authentic meal that everyone else was eating. It sounds corny but it was nice to be included and they definitely exceeded my expectations. The liquor served was towards the well-mid liquor side (Bacardi, Jack Daniels, Svedka) however they had beer on draft and wine available too. The performance itself was incredible, especially with the sunset views. Be sure to support the local vendors on your entrance or exit, they have amazing handmade items!
- IrishFan-8000Got free ticketsWe booked 5 months early with Marriott and got free standard seating. Lowered our net room rate. Was a typical Luau but with very strong drinks. Our seating was as good as premium too. Wouldn't have paid full prices for it.
- billpM782QA00Te Au Moana LuauWhat a wonderful experience! Luau was professionally done and the friendly, attentive staff made the evening that much better. The food was really delicious and there was a lot of it! The dancers, performers and musicians were top notch and the setting was perfect. This luau was well worth the money.
- Donald F00Te Au Moana Luau, the things that dreams are made of.A bit expensive evening, but one the entire family enjoyed. The food and service was good and more than you can eat. Open bar as well as kid friendly drinks. The show is broken into several sessions, with a few minute breaks between them. Narration is educational and serves a purpose, to enable one to appreciate the customs and culture of a family of islanders at Hawaii and beyond.
- M1042YNdanas00Winner-Winner, Fabulous Luau DinnerWinner – Winner – Fabulous Luau Dinner! You just never know, do you? You book these things and then wait and pray it is at least halfway decent. Thankfully, Te Au Moano Luau KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK! Just a smattering of what I loved: • The location at Marriott’s Wailea Grand Beach Resort is spectacular! I will give a bit of a warning, though, it is somewhat of a trek to get from the parking lot to the actual luau, be prepared. Oh, parking is free. • Seating guarantees there are no bad seats. I loved the fact that no one had their back to the stage. It also allows for great food service without inconveniencing anyone. Just FYI, each table has its own server! Yay! The big, round tables have this giant lazy Susan in the middle to accommodate the family-size platters and bowls perfectly. • The food…oh my gosh! FABULOUS! Okay, what else would you expect from the Waldorf Astoria? Yes, they are the ones preparing it. Not only was the amount of food more than large enough for the eight guests at each table, but it was so good! They had at least five different main courses ranging from grilled fish to pork. I think there were at least six different side dishes and rolls with butter that were as light as air! The desserts were plentiful and divine! I loved how they were cut into these very polite little squares so you could try all of them (probably more than once…) without feeling quite as guilty; ) I believe I am attaching their latest menu, YUM! • Did I mention there was also a big, well-serviced bar? Yes, there was! Seriously, they skimped on nothing! • Loved the MC! He got everyone up on their feet, engaged, and happy from the get-go to the very end. • The entertainment? WOW! Throw out your sad expectations of some “pretend mash-up of Polynesian dances”. These were professional and beautifully culturally respectful, down to their makeup and attire. Incredible! Loved that! Is it a bit pricey? Probably. Was it worth every penny? And more! We loved it!!!!
- CarlosR726100Expensive but greatGreat Luau with a lot of food, tasty food. Open bar until the end of the event. The show is nice and a trip though Polynesia itself and not just Hawaiian culture. Parking lot available for free. But, you can get other Luau for a much cheaper price so just book as early as possible and not 1-2 days before as we did.
- Trip1747500Great experienceThis was my favorite thing that we did in Hawaii. The food was good with a variety of meats. The timing of the show was perfect for us. They even took a break just in time for everyone to go get pictures by the water at sunset. The show was so interesting and our group of 11 with ages 15-50 really enjoyed it. I appreciated that it was longer because I felt like we got our money's worth. The music was awesome as well. We upgraded to the premium seating and it was worth it. With premium seating, you can go to a special line to get in that is a lot shorter. Overall, great memories.
- alicemL5229RV00Not up to my expectationsI really wanted to love this experience, but it was nowhere near what I thought it would be. First, the table we were sat at had the sun right in our face the whole first 30 minutes or so of the dinner. So I had to shield my eyes while burning in the sun and trying to eat. Second, it was very drawn out. I thought the show would be during the meal, but the main part of it didn't start until everyone was done eating (almost 2 hours in). I guess that makes sense so the servers aren't in the way of the show, but the kids were antsy and just done with being there before the show even started. I will say that the view there was beautiful and breathtaking, and the performers did a really great job. It was just boring to us so we left early.
- tom s00A Great Luau Experience for the FamilyI will start by saying my expectations of a hotel, large luau are usually not too high. But I felt that the Te Au Moana pleasantly exceeded my expectations at almost every level. We had our own table for my family of 9. 3 course meal served family style at our table. We all felt the food was much better than expected with lots of options for everyone. Server was friendly and attentive. The emcee kept us entertained without going over the top and told interesting stories of all of Polynesia. The dancers had lots of energy and looking like they were having fun keeping us all entertained. This was an excellent luau for the family. And of course, the background scenery was gorgeous. I would recommend this luau.
- M1509BZtiml00Terrible planningThey canceled our luau without telling any of 235 guests that signed up. Terrible planning! Everyone had to scramble to find somewhere to eat
- johncO3462YM00RecommendThe food and service was very good (open bar and private tables a plus) . The show was great. Just a little bit pricey but overall definitely worth it
- zitavw00Fantastic show, wasteful amount of mediocre foodLet me start by saying that the show was absolutely fabulous. Great musicians, entertainment, and fantastic dancers. The service is great too, high five to the waiters, super friendly and attentive. My big disappointment is the food: the amount (delivered to the table) is absolutely insane and incredibly wasteful. I felt terrible sending back so much food, it could easily feed double the number of people at our table. With so many people going hungry these days it is really a shame. Please Marriot, I know you can afford it, but a lot of people on this planet cannot. Be more mindful, and find a solution. Won't recommend if

We booked our first luau with Te Au Moana, and were so excited to experience a traditional Hawaiian Luau. Then it was moved indoors. We understand it was due to weather, but when the site advertised you can reschedule or cancel in case of inclimate weather conditions, but were told we could not was quite disappointing. It was in a hotel conference room, far from a beachside luau.. Our kids were most looking forward to the fire knife show and when we were told there was no fire inside, and they wouldn't be having it in the show that night,, they were so upset we had to leave early. We also understand the COVID restrictions but with no pre-show stations or crafters, and having to be inside it was half the show advertised for full price. Unfortunately we left early and disappointed from a subpar luau we had to pay full price for.

We had very high expectations on this event, especially after the amazing experience we had at the Alii Luau at the Polynesian cultural centre In O'ahu. But despite the decent show put up by the artists, the substandard food and poor service did cast a big shadow on the overall experience.
When you pay $275 per head, you're expected to be served great food, at least. But here, almost every item was a disappointment. To begin with, the food was cold when served. The chicken became hard, the grilled beef and pulled pork became hardly enjoyable, and the noodles was bland and lacked flavors.
The salad and the guava pastry was the only things we could enjoy. But again, when we requested for some more of the guava pastry, it was already over! They had served only probably 10-12 of them on the table where 10 of us where seated. They were serving food on the table instead of the buffet system, due to Covid restrictions. But I think they missed a trick by serving too much stuff at every table, thereby creating a lot of wastage of food. For eg, the guava pastry we wanted to try more was seen lying around untouched in at least 8 tables around us, when we were leaving. It was a disappointing sight.
One more thing we did not like was that they kept serving food very fast and we felt pressurized to finish the courses way too quickly to our liking. May be, they were still getting used to moving from buffet to serving on the tables.
The minibar was the only solace where they served a wide variety of cocktails. The staff were experienced, patient, and friendly. I'd like to mention that the person who served food at our table was friendly. She even took us to the beach to help us with taking pictures of our group.
Overall, I'd not recommend this event if you're a food enthusiast, at least not for the price they're charging.

Te Au Moana Luau delivered for our family of three introducing our 11-year old to a Luau experience for the first time.
For the record, we love Hawaii! What this Luau experience did was to enhance that experience and not interfere with it. Very well organized in a fabulous location, the entire evening was seamless from one step to the next. The long walk from the parking to the actual venue did not really bother us since the scenery was magnificent.
We went with the Premium seating option and were immediately escorted to Table 1 next to the performance stage. Service at the Bar was excellent with great bartenders despite some of them being Steelers fans serving to a Ravens Flock!
Dinner was served family style and there was plenty of food for everyone. But the real icing on the cake was our server, Mitch, who managed to get us plenty of chicken tenders and fries for our son who was getting really anxious looking at all the "strange delicacies" being served and unsure of what to do next. For those with young children, ask for Mitch who was a lifesaver! Marriott, please take care of Mitch, will you please?
The performance artists were simply terrific and nothing was rushed as they explained the nuances of each item ensuring audience engagement and participation. Hey, they even managed to get us to dance for a bit ... go figure!

The location, wait staff, and performers were outstanding. The drinks were a bit disappointing. The Mai Tais had been pre-prepared and the ice had already melted when the bartenders just poured some 151 Rum on top and handed them to you. Not great. Also, the dessert tray was kind of mediocre. But, again, the show and buffet were extremely good.

This Luau was incredible. There were lots of activities for younger children, and even adults, before the actual luau started. Initially we were disappointed that we could not book the old lahaina luau, however one night while at Aloha Mixed Plate right next to that luau, we got a peak of the show and could hear the music throughout our whole meal—and I can say that we do not regret going with the Te Au Moana Luau. An AMAZING time in a wonderful venue and view of the pink sunset over the ocean. The food was great, and open bar made for a very fun night.

We found parking and, after seeing one sign for the luau, we still had to ask a hotel employee to confirm the direction of the luau. After checking in, we were led to the assigned table but the table was missing one chair sand setting for our group. After returning to the check-in desk, the number in the party was confirmed, and we were told the chair would be added. By the time we had ordered our drinks and returned to the table, the chair and setting was there. The music fit the locale, the performers were enthusiastic, and we appreciated the storytelling. The backdrop was spectacular and we took many pics during the evening with the sunset in the background. Our server was careful to explain all the food and was attentive to the timing of his presence compared to the performances. The fire dance was amazing. We highly recommend!

Location is great. Food is decent for buffet style meals. I've been to several luaus before so I'm kind of jaded. Little kids will get restless after a while. I think it's better for adults. Be prepared and bring sunglasses because it is really sunny and you are facing the sun because that's where the stage is. Performances do not support after dinner so your kids will be bored as hell even with the pre-dinner activities

This is 100% a tourist trap. It does not feel authentic Hawaiian at all. It is commercialized to a cheesy level.
Price is more than a Michelin rated restaurant, quality is like grocery store prepped food. Seafood was absolutely not fresh. The "family" style dinner basically means they bring a little food for 7 people to share. Entertainment / dance was the same level as a high school performance with dancers uncoordinated at times. Drinks are not well made and served in plastic cups. You need to stand in a queue to get your drinks.
Premium seating which consists of multiple rows and where you seat is not guaranteed. So we paid for "premium" and still had 2 tables full of people in front of us. We had to turn our seats around to be able to watch the show.
Highly recommend avoiding this place.

The positives:
The Luau was a highlight of our trip - picturesque setting with an ocean backdrop.
The view was stellar and the show was fantastic.
The food was also great.
The negatives:
The booking details stated that "Self parking is free, validation required if exiting after 8:30pm". We self parked at the resort and exited the parking area at 8:27pm where I was shocked to see the machine charging me $38 for parking. When you're trying to exit and there is a line up of vehicles behind you, it isn't exactly a situation where you can turn around and go get your parking validated.
Did we park in the wrong area? Is the information on the booking details out of date? Some clarification on that would be helpful so other guests aren't shocked by having to pay for something they thought was free. This was a disappointing end to an otherwise wonderful evening.

We loved everything about this luau! The setting overlooking the ocean is beautiful. There were demonstrations and live music before dinner. The bar has a good selection of drinks and buffet was excellent with lots of variety for adults and kids. They had high chairs available for the babies in our group and everyone loved the entertainment!! This is our second time to this luau (the first time was all adults and the second time was with three under 3) and we loved it as much (maybe more) as we did the first time!
