My parents and I took this private tour on July 18, 2022 with Cindy and it was a fantastic day! Cindy picked us up at the hotel in a very comfortable vehicle and took us on a scenic drive through Needles Highway for a beautiful sneak peak of Mount Rushmore. We then visited Mount Rushmore where Cindy explained the history and how the carving was done, which was very interesting. We then drove through beautiful Custer State Park where we hoped to see at least one bison. Cindy knew to check in with the rangers on where the bison had recently been spotted. She then took us there and we saw hundreds of bison and several bison calves and yearlings! We had a very good lunch at a restaurant in the park that Cindy knew well. We next went to Crazy Horse where Cindy explained the history of the carving and the Lakota. It was a very educational and enjoyable day! Cindy is originally from Rapid City, so she is very knowledgeable about South Dakota in general and especially all of the sites we visited. In between stops we had a great time just talking with Cindy and learning about life in South Dakota. I highly recommend this tour!

John was an excellent guide. We loved that we had our own private tour for our family of 4. John was able to show and tell us all the important things on the trip that we would have missed trying to do this on our own! He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the Black Hills and both monuments. He also knew the best areas in Custer to take some beautiful wildlife pictures! We were able to take a picnic lunch at Sylvan lake and he took us over Needles Highway which was so beautiful. I highly recommend John for an informative tour! Why spend your time trying to figure out the best spots yourself? Do this so you can sit back, relax, take pictures and leave the driving to him. You won’t be disappointed!

We had the best day sightseeing and learning about the area with Cindy from GeoFunTrek Tours! Cindy was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and taught our whole family (including our 13-year old twin girls) so much about Mount Rushmore, Needle Highway, Custer State Park, etc. The full day tour was so well organized, and in addition to seeing the main sights, Cindy took us to places (like the view of Mount Rushmore through a tunnel from the highway!) that we would have never found on our own. We highly recommend Cindy & GeoFunTrek Tours - a truly amazing way to see the area!

Great experience from start to end. First of all, before the trip I called to ask a few questions. I spoke initially with John who was very pleasant and helpful. He then followed up with an email of further explanation. After booking the trip, Cindy picked up my daughter and myself at our cabin that we stayed at in Keystone. Cindy grew up in the area so was filled with knowledge, history and details about the area, that she shared with us in between sites. In addition, she was a pleasure to spend the day with. We visited all the highlights we had read about, and more.....We highly recommend highly recommend taking tours with them!! A great tour, and personal experience, with nice, knowledgeable people.

My family took 2 different tours with GeoFunTrek. We had Cindy and Chris as our guides for the Mt. Rushmore/Crazy Horse and Custer State Park tour and John for our guide for the Badlands/Wall Drug/Minuteman Missile site and Museum of Geology. Both tours were amazing. John, Cindy and Chris are so knowledgeable and were able to fill us in on the history, evolution and/or making of each attraction we visited. While we did a lot of things on each tour, we never felt rushed or hurried through. They know the BEST spots to take pictures, to eat local cuisine and see lots of wildlfe. In addition to being great guides on their tours they took the time to fill us in on other sites to visit and places to eat during our trip. I highly recommend these tours.

This was exactly what we wanted. My wife and I enjoyed a personalized tour of Mount Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial, and Custer State Park. Cindy picked us up at our hotel in Rapid City and began teaching us about the things we were going to see. As we neared Mt. Rushmore, we explored roads, tunnels, and bridges that normal tour buses cannot navigate. Having grown up in the area, Cindy provided interesting local perspectives on the history and geography of the area. She took us places and showed us gorgeous scenery we never would have found on our own. Cindy was very pleasant and answered all our questions. We never felt rushed. In fact, we felt like we had left with a new friend. If we get the chance to return, we will probably try some of the other tours GeoFunTrek offers.

Our guide John has a background in geology. On the way to Rushmore we got the lowdown on the formation & composition of the black hills. He knew lots of info about each place we were to visit. He was able to share his knowledge the whole trip. This is not a polite way of saying that he talked the whole time. He was well versed about when to say what and I feel like He loves his job! Drinks and snacks. Up close parking. Can't say enough about what I learned and saw on this tour. He has a microphone on board so you can hear him well. Needles Hwy was a treat. If you are looking for a guide in the black hills area, these are good people.

Cindy was an amazing guide for our tour. She is knowledgeable, caring, and customer service oriented. She enlightened my wife and I on many interesting and little known facts about the area. The tour was worth every penny, as I would never been savvy enough to find most (if not all) of the out of the way spots we visited. She also provided valuable recommendations for places to visit and things to do throughout the state. Do yourself a favor and book the Private Tour of Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Custer State Park by GeoFunTrek Tours. It is a tremendous value and I highly recommend it.

My husband and I came to the Black Hills for the first time and had a wonderful tour with Cindy. She grew up in the Keystone area and gave us so much more information and insights than a tour book ever would. She pointed out many things that would have been lost to us otherwise- lots of history and none of it boring! The weather was very chilly and she even brought gloves for us- how nice is that! I highly recommend GeoFunTrek Tours- it exceeded our expectations!

We enjoyed our trip immensely. Our tour guide, John Esposti was very knowledgeable about the history of our tour sites: Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Custer State Park. We saw a lot of wildlife as we drove around Wildlife Loop at Custer State Park. It was a great tour. Thanks John.
