Unless they are really into history, I would say this tour may not be too exciting for pre-teens.

Our tour was 2.5 hours. We got to linger as long as we wanted at the key sights. I would plan for 3 hours all-in.

At least half a day at Stone Mountain. Laser light show starts around 9:00 PM on Saturday nights.
